Does it annoy you when people post in forums using poor grammer?

ye
it annoys the crap outta me on msn, so its even worse when its on forums :eep:
If they successfully communicate with me, the language they have used has succeeded in its task, so there's no rational reason to have a beef with it.
grammar
I can't hate on people too bad since I used to be horrid. Thank you EoFF for forcing a change in my typing skills.
it annoys me when i dont have a clue what people mean. and then im embarresed when i ask them
It's among the 5 things of the world that I absolutely CANNOT stand. I couldn't understand a word this kid was saying to me on MySpace, so I wittily said "In English please?" And he cussed me out and wasn't on my friends list anymore. I didn't even hang out with him prior to that. :| My friends think he's a dick anyway.
As long as I can understand and they use proper punctuation :p
Some people can't type and it's a pain to do it correctly x.x
Yes, I'd have to say that it slightly annoys me.
It's one thing to spell grammar wrong, but if I can't understand what you're saying, I can't stand it.
x.x
I don't really mind at all.
yh yur rite dumandade55 i rely h8 It our lott:D
But seriously, i dont mind bad grammer as long as i can read it.
I'm sure it's the american accent that makes people spell it grammer
I dont pay attention to people who type like that.
It annoys me slightly, but it annoys me EVEN MORE if I can't understand a WORD they are saying and it takes me like 5 minutes to decipher what they've typed. xD
I really just think it's strange. It's like this "u" business. You're only two letters away from forming the actual word "you". Or saying "no" instead of "know". It's TWO letters away!? I guess it doesn't bother me so much as I don't understand why it's done by so many.
As long as I can comprehend what they're saying, I don't care much on a forum. I wouldn't wanna talk to somebody typing like that on a messenger or anything, though.
I smurfing hate it when people add and 'E' on to the back of words that don't neede them.
If I see bad grammar in the morning, I can't function for the rest of the day. I mean, it literally stays on my mind the entire time I'm awake (which is always, because I can't sleep at night when I see the letter "u" by itself). In short, it is the end of the world.
When people do it occasionally it doesn't bother me, but if it's your standard form of internet communication I view you as a substandard human being.
Or a middle schooler. My middle schoolers' typing is deplorable.
Incessantly. I also have little to no respect for anyone who uses the terms "lol", "lmao" or "rofl" in anything other than a purely ironic context.
so what you're saying is that there are a lot of people on this forum who mind when others use poor grammar? that's a (while likely true) crazy assumption to make. use some less ambiguous language, if you please.
I love being picky about grammar, but if I can understand what someone's trying to say I'm not going to be an asshole about calling them out, unless there's the chance for me to point out some irony or to make a situation humorous.
demondude posts with bad grammar.
doesn't bother me, i don't use capitals or propper punctuation while posting so i don't care.
GRAMMAR. GRAMMAR. NOT GRAMMER. GRAMMAR.
Both bad spelling and bad grammar, and just incorrect basic language knowledge piss me off. Especially when people don't accept when they're wrong. If I smurf up on something, I like someone to take me up on it so I don't make a pillock of myself like that again.
So, grammAr.
I hate typos
I dont like it when numbers are used, but otherwise im ok with it
I can't get enough of it. Much lulz can be derived from it.
Bad Grammar or Leet?
People annoy me. It doesn't matter what they are doing, they annoy me. Bad grammar and speech patterns are not a big deal. It's the breathing that bothers me the most.
It irritates me, but I read it anyway.
If I read something in the Writer's Corner with sloppy grammar and spelling, it puts me off the piece completely.
I really don't care. I just quote them in my post, if I feel like quoting. I try not to mess up my grammar, always editing if I feel like it.
Only when it's really, really bad. I've yet to see anything really, really bad here.
I actually find poor formatting to be worse. I can't stand reading ridiculously large blocks of text.
I try not to let bad grammar bother me, though it does sometimes.
Bad spelling sometimes doesn't bother me but most of the time I feel like correcting the spelling. But I'm not a perfect speller, so I can't say much.
I would rather everyone type properly. But I don't mind that much, only when it is completely illegible.
Sure, but I think it's annoying when I have to spend more time "decoding" whatever a person said just for him to save 5 seconds when typing it.
For a language to me as efficient as possible, I think the users should be as uniform as possible. It makes it easier and faster to read, and fewer misunderstanding occur.
What I found funny about this thread, was the fact that people who said things such as "Yeah, I dislike bad grammar" acctully were using bad grammar in the first place.
Capital i when you are talking about yourself.
Capital when its about a person or a place.
Its not that hard to forget, you just spent, like, 11 years in mandatory education, of which 9 years of that you will have taken the subject of english, or your home language.
In my experience I've found spelling errors to be more annoying than grammar. With grammar errors you can still figure out what the heck the person's trying to say due to context.Quote:
Does it annoy you when people post in forums using poor grammer? [sic]
eg: I talking good english you
With multypal spelin arrors it becoms harder and harder to maek cens of the sentance.
It annoys me when people don't use periods so that their entire post it like one long sentance.
Other than that, it only bothers me if I can't understand what people are saying. :jess:
There sure is a lot of oddlering going on in here.
If you think bad grammar is wrong in English, you haven't read someone with bad grammar in Spanish.
And I don't pay attention to people who type like that.
It somewhat annoys me.
But who am I to judge them? (No one laughs at my joke)
