Potatoes: Mashed or Baked?

If you had to choose between mashed or baked potatoes, which would you choose, and why?

Mashed, because you can dig little craters out of your mountain of potato and fill it with gravy. This is obviously the best possible use one can put to a potato.

Mashed, definitely. Don't get me wrong, I love a baked potato, but nothing can compare to buttery mashed potatoes. Yum.

I prefer them in the trash. I hate potatoes.

I prefer mashed, but right now I'm craving baked.

I don't like mashed potatoes, so I guess it's baked by default. Taties roasted in beef fat/juices destroy everything else, though.

Mashed potatoes. Not just the best form of POTATO, but the best food ever created. I swear I think mashed potatoes are like the food of the gods. I live on it.

Mashed. Baked never appealed to me, especially the whole thing with steak.

Used to prefer them mashed but after a while they got a little tasteless (since I don't eat anything else with them). But now I would choose baked.

It depends. I only like mash if there is no lumps and it is with gravy, but I always like baked potatos -- especially with chilli! So it would depend on what they were with.

Garlic mashed potatoes are amazing. They bring happiness and joy to this world.

Baked is probably my least favorite way to eat a potato (although it's still very good that way).

I prefer mashed. No particular reason though. I like potatoes just about any way you can prepare them, just I, being southern, prefer them mashed. I can make some killer mashed potatoes. :D

Mashed. You just have so many more options.

Actually, you have fewer options, but gravy trumps everything else.
