ok, im in valkrum dunes, and this is my first character on this game....but...ughhh, im always with a bunch of people who dont know what there doing! I cant lvl up! im lvl 16 war, without a sub job, so..yeah, can someone explain to me why i cant get a good pt?:eep:

on top of that I know this sounds mean but its the truth...most experianced parties dont want a non-subjobed war in a party with them. Consider it part of the first party experiance ;)
if it helps any go to gelshba outpost and solo there cuz its easy and dont have to worry about a party.
Apparently it's better to solo to 18/20 anyways with the new extremely awesome signet buffs n_n

It's hard at first and it happens to all of us but you just got to keep at it. My first Dunes party really sucked but the next one was great. Look for a few things when you join a party: maximum of 2 level gap, the leader is above rank 4, party has white mage or experienced other mage, and the tank is not a subless warrior. Also make sure you are using an axe or great axe, because although swords at the level for warrior aren't much of a difference, it will show other members that you understand your job's strengths. edit: and yes, Most good hearted people will do that in Valkurm as long as you are Level 18 or lower.
Valkurm Dunes is noobville. Just try to put up with it until you reach Qufim Island, which is at Level 20. From that point on, it gets better.
Avoid the Dunes and solo untill you are 18 then get help for your sub job, and do it all over again.
Honestly, the Dubes is a mission in itself to get a party, its impossible and I refuse to even go there.
There's a reason why everyone that goes in the dunes comes out bleeding and thinking about quitting FFXI c.c Consider this the ultimate test.

Litterally, if you can survive the mass of stupidity and noobism in the dunes, you're set.
I'm currently lving PLD and very tempted to go into the dunes instead of konschat :(

I don't get how people can stand soloing till level 20. D: So boring to squat down to heal all the time, which will probably happen a lot if you're a sub-less warrior.
and I like people that are new to the game, so I often invited them too.
Blu was fun to solo all the way to 40, but I wouldn't want to try that with War...
Dunes aren't that bad, just a few idiots ruin it. Just have to keep trying.
PLD can cure itself and is pretty good soloing at that level, so I just brought loads of Melon juice, rarely needed to heal.Quote:
