EoFF Christmas Card Swap! Yay!

Christmas decorations are up and tree farms are already charging hand and foot for live evergreens. The most wonderful time of year (besides the summer celebration of foa, that is) is just around the corner, which means it's time for the EoFF Christmas Card Exchange! All registered, non-banned members are welcome to participate in the exchange, given you obey the following rules!

4) As soon as the addresses are sent out and the cards are received, it is up to everyone who has the mailing list to delete them in a proper manner (there should be no reason to keep them after getting the cards). This is to ensure the safety and well-being of all those involved. Also note that I cannot be held accountable for what type of person ends up getting your address as a result of this. Please understand that you are putting a lot of trust in your fellow members when you decide to do this.

5) You do not have to give your real name or a permanent street address. PO Boxes or dorm addresses are perfectly fine to use, just as long as it is a real address that you maintain. You are more than welcome to use your EoFF name as the name on your envelope. Your mailman will just look at you funny.

6) Please do not send small objects inside envelopes. The envelope will be opened by workers at the U.S.P.S to ensure there are no hazardous materials inside, and the object will be removed. Glitter has, in my experience, not been subject to this removal.

7) Do not, under any circumstances, send rude or threatening messages to anyone through the Christmas Card exchange. If I find out about it, I will ban you from the exchange until I am dead, and I will urge those you offended to press charges, or seek legal recourse myself. It is against US Federal Law to abuse or threaten someone through the postal service. And I'll ban you. At any rate, you'll just be showing a lot of people what a jerk you really are. If you receive a threatening message and do not want to seek legal recourse on your own please come to me and I will help you through it as best I can. I AM HERE FOR YOU.

8) The most important rule, have a great time with this. This is one of the few times you can step outside of your EoFF identity and reach out to your online friends through real life communication. And it is a small, but incredibly powerful way to make a difference in someone's holiday season. There is no reason on earth this shouldn't be happy fun goodtimes.

Last year I ended up with a fair few cards lev, strangely last minute crap came up and left me unable to return the favour, I do however intend to return the favour this year. You're looking at around 20 - 30 cards many of them international (Since people like leeza sent me cards though I believe hers never got delivered intact.)

That reminds me that Nicole won't receive any card from me (unless I send it to Leeza, which I will, if she participates).

Sign me up. I'll confirm with you that you still have my address (for whatever reason) later.

If I recall correctly the last time I did this I recieved something like 12-15 cards, and I mailed out 12-15 cards, so it cost me about 30-40$.

I would prefer to get the addresses very soon so I can mail them out regular rather than priority.

How much is postage to Canada if you're American or European? It's only 52 cents for us, but I have no clue what you guys actually have to pay to mail here.

If I'm looking at the right place in the USPS website, it says for international mailing, you can get First Class for $0.69 and up, no speed specified, or Priority for $16.00 and up for it to reach it's destination between 6 and 10 days.

The moment I get those addresses, I'm making the cards and sending them off the same day. 16 bucks my butt...

O-o; For me it cost maybe 7 bucks for all the cards I sent out. Which was close to 20. Most of them, like usually will be to the USA and you will have a few to Canada and a handful Internationally. So in total, for a Canadian, it should not be too much.

Because I bought 48 cards for $3.99 on some sale.

I went to a Dollarama and bought like packs of cards. It was 10 cards for a dollar plus tax or something. Can't say I spent more than 20$ on the whole thing. Maybe more around 15$ in total.

I yet again have received my daily mail and only one card...leeza I think they're tearing yours apart again in the effort to stop terrorism it happened last year :( todays came from Ace14 who proved without doubt that my sister is stupid because she read the "sender address" and told me I had a card from canada not from california

I didn't know Leeza's card was from Leeza because she pulled a tricky I won't even put Leeza on the envelope and got glitter all over my parent's kitchen floor. Then I made my older sister sweep it up.

I got my card from leeza, I was clever and saw the canadian stamp and shook the envelope it rattled so I carefully opened the card spilling NONE of the glitter inside, However my niece and nephew say thanks :) they're using the glitter shapes to make winter pictures now.

i personally won't be getting any more cards till the middle of January, so HOPEFULLY they will all have arrived by the time I get back to school!

I got Renmiri's, woot! I didn't get to send out my last 10 cards because around the 20th of December my mom said it was pointless to send out anymore cards so she didn't send em for me. I don't really know how to send em myself so I only got half my cards out. :(

I think we should all exchange cards in honour of my birthday :D

I'm so so sorry, everyone!!:cry: There have been some health problems with my grandpa since a little before Christmas...He had a heart attack on Dec. 16th and his health kinda did a downfall from there. The funeral was the other day. This entire holiday season has been rather sucky for my family because of that, and I couldn't bring myself to write happy Christmas cards while he was in pain. All my apologies for not getting those cards out for Christmas, or even New Years! Anyone mind if I just make new ones and send out early Valentines cards? I am truly sorry though, I was kinda afraid to come back before now...

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa, Akaria. It's never a good time for that to happen, but during Christmas it makes everything doubly hard. :( Please don't worry about sending out cards this year. There's always next year, and the year after that. My condolences to you and your family.

They're much appreciated! =] That said, I still would like to send cards...I had an idea for a cute Valentines Day card design, and I'd like to take advantage of it. So expect a cute pink/white/red...possibly fluffy...card within the coming month, guys! =D
