EoFF Chess!

I'm going to try and organize a EoFF chess! Merely post if you want to play!

I have a really easy way that I can set this up off the top of my head.

Using yahoo chess, we can play set up times to play each other! The first match will be whoever VS. me. Then the winner will continue to play matches till they lose. The matches will be set up with agreed times. These times could be impulsive like "Hey lets go right now!" Or set it up like... "I can't play right now, but tomorrow night I'll be ready.

No Redos, but you can reface someone who already beat you if they beat 2 people after you.

Edit: To use yahoo chess, all you need is a yahoo email account. Yahoo email is free so don't worry ;o

Double Edit: Also post even if there is already a schedualed match, this will go into a first come first serve basis. If you say "I want to play winner" then you'll get to play winner.

Triple Edit: If anyone thinks they have a better way to do this, please, do tell, I'd like an easier way too :D

I wasn't sure if I would get enough people for a tournament. Its actually pretty simple. Its a play till you lose set up.

I'd be up for another EoFF Chess Tournament. I took part last time and didn't do as bad as I expected (I won a game) and I'm probably a better player now than I was then.

Aerith's Knight beat me, I sucked pretty bad, but hopefully that'll shake off the rust off me :D

Anyway. That means Aerith's Knight V. Sagensyg is next. You two sheduale a time and I'll explain how you guys could create a private table for you to play once you have.

Yeah. I can play 17 Hours from now and maybe later on. I'd play right now, but I don't have that much time.

OK, somewhat into Aerith's knight whooping my a**, our game glitched, so, GoBo (Or anyone), do you know where we could find somewhere better to play?

yeah this aint working.. im making some great moves here.. and the stupid game breaks up.. man.. i dont play chess a lot but that usually ticks me off..

so get searching or i start plucking :)

From what I understand you where trying to move a pawn while in check, which it won't let you do. And I figured out if it ever stops letting you move, just hit the undo button and have the person redo their move. And *poof* fixed.

Im amazing at Chess.(SPOILER) (Not really, although I used to play for England when I was like 12, Im kinda rubbish now)

wtf? That screen shot is impossible. there is no way his bishop could have gotten there.

But again, if he hits the undo button and he goes again he could fix this.

OK heres the thing. The pieces weren't glitched and White Bishop was at c4. Then it was my turn and that blue box you see there was on one of the Pawns that started there. The blue square shows up for the last move done and I hadn't done anything yet, so I requested a redo. I did but nothing happened, so Aerith's knight also did a redo and nothing happened on MY screen except for all the pieces going back to the initial positions and then the Bishop looked like it moved twice on my screen and landed at that same spot with the blue square, so far, it looks just like lag, but every other piece on the board was restarted on my screen so the Bishop had 'hopped' over the pawns in front of it and taken an extra turn. Aerith lost patience and wouldn't believe me and I took a screenshot.

Here's a tip, I noticed you had other things open, don't do that. The Chess tends to get glitchy if you do.

Not real tournaments, but I did manage to hold first at Chess club for a few months.

PuPu kicks major ass at chess... which is why I'm glad he goes to Physics Club now, otherwise I'd never be in first :p

^Hehe...I used to play in all these random tournaments across the country with 4 hour matches! :eek:

Nowadays I play 2 and a half hours every week between schools. Im supposed to be 2nd best, so I play the 2nd best people in other schools and I lose almost all the time. :(

If you can find a better spot we can play, then good on ya. Yahoo is the best I've got for now though.

You may want to just flip a coin or call it a draw between me and Guru because, to be honest, I really don't see us playing any time soon if past attempts are anything to go off.

Well I was waiting for the winner Between The Unknown Guru and Heath, but seeing as that didn't work out, I dun know what I'm gonna do with you guys.

Instead of doing this whole one match at a time here is my new idea. We just play random matches with random people, have some fun, and use this thread as a place to organize the matches, and post results.

Now, on where to play, I still say Yahoo is the best for quick matches, but if you can't play immediately with someone that other site is good, because it saves the game, and you can have like hours happen between moves xD

So, I'm gonna go ahead and organize a few matches.
