Cloud of Darkness? That's...not who I would have picked from FFIII. I was also expecting Gilgamesh instead of Exdeath, Seymour instead of Jecht and Seifer instead of Ultimecia although I guess I can sort of see why they would go for the main villains instead.
But does this mean that Mateus of all things is the villain they're taking from Ivalice? There really doesn't seem to be any logic to that at all. Unless Mateus is also the name of Emperor from FFII which I missed because I gave up.
EDIT: Oh, I guess the other thread answers my question.

Who cares? Firon's here! :D And I must say Nomura is doing a very nice job redrawing Amano's characters, although IMO the originals still remain the best.

I like it when Square doesn't skip FFI-VI when they make games that include characters from different FFs.

Anyways, I am still interested how things will turn out. I don't know how the game will be, or if it is bad. I am pretty sure I am getting a PSP soon, so I will probably rent it. Still it has Kefka... my favorite character of all time... And Zidane and Kuja, who are also some of my favorites. I wonder if Cecil is in though? IDK, I haven't been following the game very closely.

Well, now I'm very interested as well. I was planning to get a PSP anyway for Crisis Core (maybe, as I'm not a big VII fan), FFT and FF I Anniversary. Dissidia looks awesome now. I was already pleased Zidane and Kuja would appear (with voices!), but now with Exdeath and Cloud of Darkness both showing up as well, it's almost a must have for me.
It's interesting that the storyline seems to centre around Crystals again. Makes me wonder about Cloud of Darkness' role. Being nothing but a force of nature bend on destruction of everything... But ah, she'll probably have a voice in this game, like every other character. Awesomey. As long as they don't make her male or genderless all of the sudden.
And lol at the Zidane vs Kuja conversation. It's so them.
This game will not be complete without Baku.
Squall's new design is grossly unimpressive - the emaciated stick-figure and the fur-trimmed handkerchief on his belt especially.
However, the other re-done characters and the game itself are looking good.
I'm not thrilled about Squall's design either, especially when Leon from KH2 looked so badass.Quote:
