My RPG Maker XP Game - Demise: The Wayward Saint

A furious fight within the sewers! (Screenie!)

And on that fateful day the small town of Valeti was set to immolate.
Screams echoed and livestock moaned as if to give off a bad omen.
Ren is awoken in the middle of all this by a local Cleric named Alithis and her closest friend Melan standing around her bed.
"Ren, we need to get out of here!" implored Alithis as he seemed to quickly traverse the pages of his tome.
As they exited the burning house they saw a silhouette floating among the flame and anguish... it resembled a human-like figure slowly walking away from it all.

With the entire town lost to the flames the three search for a home... for an answer... This is Demise: The Wayward Saint.


Characters:

Ren
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Class: Warlock
Hometown: Valeti
Bio: Bio: Orphaned at the age of 4. She has sustained a peaceful life as a local hunter and guard of the small town: Valeti, growing alongside her best friends: Alithis and Melan. After the most awful events that took place at the end of Valeti's long lived lifestyle... she is far more reserved than ever. Slowly falling deeper into what will be a journey full of despair and trial.


Alithis
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Class: Cleric
Hometown: Valeti
Bio: Born into small family with many biblical values he stood as the second Cleric of Valeti under his father. With his family now dead of unnatural causes and the events that have been recently occurring all around him, he is questioning everything he has learned up until this day.

Melan
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Class: Hunter
Hometown: Valeti
Bio: Found in the forest by Alithis's Mother at a very young age. She has become like family to both Alithis and the entire town of Valeti. Torn from the chaos that blazed and ripped Valeti apart and living... Melan is constantly thinking about how her friends must feel instead of also thinking about how she feels herself.

Harleth
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Class: Dragoon
Hometown: Molathis
Bio: High-Soldier of the Royal Patrol of Endenguard City. He is tasked by Endenguard's King to travel with Ren as a bodyguard. Neglectful at first he eventually warms up to Ren and Friends. Taking a certain fancy toward Melan. A leader to be sure...

Updates will hopefully be done once to multiple times per day, Release date is currently NA... would you play a demo if I released one :D?.
Updates will include: Screenies, Information on gameplay, some locations, The Cresent Battle System, Character Updates. Inspired by a certain brother smashing site :3

Please discuss and give feedback (Error Corrections too! xD!) as the days go on :D... This is really fun for me ^_^!

Well at least I'm not the only one trying a project on XP, good luck my friend, and if it gets along past a demo or two, I'm more then happy to try it out.

Well, I might try out your first demo. Who knows what mood I'll be in by that point.

But with the stupid amounts of hours I'm getting at work they'll probably only be minor.

I tried this with RPG Maker 2003. I gave up a little way through it because I couldn't think of a proper storyline. I'd really like to try again though. Where could I get RPG Maker XP? If it's against the rules could you PM me? Also will it work with Windows 2000? Yea I'm outdated.

Actually I have a purchased copy.

Though expensive I don't feel like I've commited a huge crime of somesort. :p

My computer is software retarded. I'm scared to buy games because I'm afraid they won't work. I've had problems with every game I've tried to play on this computer. I need a new one.

I'd reccomend it ASAP!

In the midst of a fierce encounter within the sewers, this is also the first time we get to see the first four characters introduced so far!

The Assassin seems to be persuing something and pops up from time to time to spite Ren and her friends... but could he have more meaning than first seen? Stay tuned!

This is a rather lacking screen of the in-battle scene... perhaps more in-depth ones will rise in the future?

If I bought it, do you think it would work with my crappy computer and Windows 2000?

Also, I noticed you have a Dragoon. Very nice. One reason I gave up on my game was because I couldn't properly program jump into the game. Is that possible in this version? Well I know it's possible, but I mean is there an easier way to do it?

Its called XP for a reason. You need XP or up.

Fraid not.

With XP you need XP, to get jump to work in all versions either costs tedium with plenty of situational events... or heavy scripting.

I intend to do the heavy scripting for the Jump... wait, you don't know there will be a jump! *HISS!*

I prefer 2k3, I have some numerious projects on it still.

See that's what I was afraid of. I don't have XP nor will I ever. My next comp is going to be a Mac. Oh well. 2k3 can't be too much different. I might try to start up a project again soon.

Welcome to a mini-realm, the pathways into these places are usually well-hidden and may even warrant wishes for backtracking.

As you enter you see a dark figure resembling familiar faces... do you dare approach them only to be insulted and engaged in combat?

They are very different than most other monsters as they will only use 1 skill, each only has 1 skill and has been trained in only the activation and use of those certain skills without limit or energy exhaustion.

Once you defeat these dark figures you gain that certain skill to use forever! You also need certain characters in relation to the dark figures... or else you will not be able to attempt to even begin gaining these very required... very sought after feats of great power.

PS: If you already have not noticed, you will have to take these on alone with the selected hero... Save elsewhere before attempting these as loss will result in a game over.

Welcome to an outskirt area filled with rather clean and clear lake... it's body of water spans on for miles! At day time it's quite pleasant... unfortunately your heroes arrive at night time... Wolf-like bandits parade these areas looking for a human feed and a spot of loot to take home.

The game begins right here actually... Ren, Alithis and Melan have just found their way out of the forest that surrounded the once livable town of Valeti.
