I use a fair amount of exclamation points and I don't think any less of people for using them. Obviously if they're used excessively or if there's about three of them (Wow!!!), I tend to take it as more of a jokey or silly comment so I do take it less seriously sometimes.
I always have to think to use exclamation points. Guess I'm just not an excitable person.
I think there is definitely a flippant tone to most exclamations.
