Jack Skellington is the only remaining 3D character, as the final computer animated 3D characters fall away to tough competition. Goofy looks to be the only classic Disney star good enough for EoFFers, while 25% of the last 16 are from the movie Aladdin - the Lion King has one less, with three characters featuring now that the likes of Rafiki, Timon and Pumbaa have all slid away. The Little Mermaid is represented by both Ariel and Sebastian, with Ursula just losing out to Genie last round by a single vote. My personal favourites, Kronk and Jessica, continue on but should they both win, they'll be up against each other in the next round. :(!

I've never seen the massive appeal in Malefecent. Kronk, however, has the greatest voice out of any of the characters, has an adorable personality, is highly quotable and (perhaps most importantly) makes me laugh more than any character. And that probably includes non-Disney shows/films, too! :D I love him to bits.

Seriously though, you can't expect personal favourites to make it all the way every time. This is the first time my two favourites have made it so far! But having said that, one of them will not make it to the next round. :( Mufasa going out to Hades was a bit of a shocker for me, but eh.

As for the classic characters such as Goofy and co, I never was a massive fan of the old-school stuff. Times have changed, and characters can have more to them these days. Donald Duck losing to Mulan was just insane, though.

Great turnout with the votes this time around, though - #1 seeded Genie continues to storm past all opposition with ease, as Ariel sits 11 votes down on him. The other three matchups are all rather close, though...

Ariel and Scar are great characters. Films such as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King are Disney's gems, too - no different than older films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella; the same can be said about Aladdin.

All of them have timeless characters, I think. =O

It should be noted that you don't need to have a great movie to have a great character, too. It's only recently that I remembered Atlantis' "Mole". That guy was a laugh.

Once again the results were surprising. As much as I like Kronk, Maleficent is in a league of her own.

As for Disney's older characters, I'd say that both them and the newer characters have earned their place in Disney's animated classics. Although times change, even the old characters have remained popular and interesting thanks to new artists and storytellers who work with them not to mention the classic films themselves which still manage to attract people. After all, the newest Goofy short had very positive responses from the audiences that saw it, so it shows that classic Disney characters are still going strong even in films. :)

And yes, Atlantis had some great characters. One of the film's main problems was that its cast was too big for its own good. Taking a couple of characters out would've been better for character development, although I nevertheless liked the group dynamic that was in the finished film. :p

Although Robin Williams is quite good in the role, the Finnish voice actor of Genie (Vesa-Matti Loiri) transcends the character to a totally different, superior level. :D

Miriel, maybe you should watch TENG a couple more times. Just because it's not a classic doesn't mean Kronk isn't one hilarious and adorable guy. He's just awesome on a whole new level.

Genie, on the other hand, is extremely popular with good reason, but I still suspect that a lot of people here who voted for him haven't even seen (if not heard of) The Emperor's New Groove. Still, Genie is pretty damned awesome so I won't complain if he wins. Can't all have our personal favourites go on forever. :(

Ariel is an annoying spoiled little girl.

Genie is Robin Williams and faced Al Pachino in Insomnia. And I think we can all agree that Ariel is not nearly as cool as Al Pachino, let alone be a match for him.

Oh lets think about this, Genie was robin Williams, he is funny and has been a doctor, a psychiatrist and a killer in Alaska.

Scar is Jeremy Irons, he killed Mufasa who was voiced by James Earl Jones who was Darth Vader, meaning he killed Darth Vader, Jeremy Irons also played Simon Gurber in Die Hard With A Vengeance. That means he fought against John McClain who was Bruce Willis, and against Samuel L Jackson .

Also Scar was evil, threw Mufasa off a Cliff, succeeded in his plan for years, and was just a general all around badass, far surpassing most other Disney villains…

It's very hard to choose between the two, because both of them are great characters. However, as much as I like Genie, I'll go and pick Scar. :p

Scar has a great English and Finnish voice actor, he's animated well, he manages to be both threatening and funny, and he's a well-developed character who really elevated The Lion King to the peak of the Disney Renaissance period.
