In order:
Forrest Gump
V for Vendetta
Napoleon Dynamite
In no particular order: Labyrinth, Stardust, Armageddon.
That was really hard >_<
When you guys refer to Labyrinth, you're not referring to the one with David Bowie in it are you? If you are, that's awesome, but far from the greatest movie, lol.
Wicker Park
Forest Gump
Ace Ventura Pet Detective
If dramas counted then it would have to be BBC's Pride and Prejudice (1995).
Gladiator
Sixth Sense
Blow
Shrek
Toy Story
Lion King
Lord of The Rings
Pirates of The Caribbean
King Kong
Cloverfield
Forrest Gump is a GREAT movie.
And I also loved the book Battle Royal but I've yet to see the movie.
Blair Witch Project?
I think its more of a challenge than a question. And I'm sure they do mean Jim Henson's Labyrinth. It wasn't a great movie, but it had great imagination and atmosphere
The Princess Bride has to be in my list... what else... Everytime Jurassic Park is on I feel like a kid again :[
I dunno. I guess The Dark Crystal or Neverending Story. I enjoy well done action/thriller/horror movies and such. But they never stay with me. These movies have stayed with me forever
Unforgiven (Eastwood)
Dolls (Kitano)
My Neighbour Totoro (Miyazaki)
Yeah I know, I'm just joking around.
Ah okay, to be honest I really haven't seen it.
Those two are very awesome movies. I know they are extremely dated, but The Dark Crystal was very good in terms of puppetry and imagination (as was Neverending Story, la-la-laaa la-la-laaa...).
:D
Big Trouble In Little China, Fight Club, Apocalypse Now.
Lord of the rings (all three)
El Topo
The day the earth stood still
Not neccessarily the best but three of my favourites.
1. Luster (independent movie)
2. American Beauty
3. Memoirs of a Geisha
Backdoor Sluts 9
No way dude BDS 4. You're just watching smut that was created to make a quick buck. BSD 4 was way more classy and had better cinematography.....
Anyway
Even though I did thoroughly enjoy some of the listed top 30 movies in lists like IMDB, I think I should pick a movie where I would have no problem watching it almost every day.
And I pick the highly overrated, almost universally panned film Boondock Saints.
Which I have yet to watch recently. Grrr I was supposed to yesterday.
1. Fight Club- I could seriously just pop the DVD in and let it play all day, every day for a MONTH. The most quotable film ever made and it's sooo much better than the novel. Seriously, the best novel-film transition of all time.
2. Closer- Just an amazing ensemble cast. I don't even LIKE Julia Roberts or Jude Law very much, but they were incredible in this movie. Natalie Portman and Clive Owen turned out the best performances of their careers, as far as I'm concerned. Unbelievable writing. Just awesome, all around.
3. I suppose this spot would pretty much have to go towards the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I can't think of anything else at the moment, and that trilogy was made with just so much care and passion. It was so huge, such an EVENT, and it's pretty much just going to go down in history as a film for the ages.
Honorable mention(s):
Pan's Labyrinth
Sweeney Todd and a lot of other Johnny Depp films
Shaun of the Dead
In no particular order: Trainspotting, 007 Goldfinger, 007 Thunderball, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Ghost in the Shell, Month Python and the Holy Grail, Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke, Suburbia, Beavis and Butthead Do America, The Warriors, Fantasia.
