I'm sorry, but....

Does anybody else hate the band 'Muse'? I actually cannot stand them. The only thing I've heard the singer do is squeak and whine and their music........,well, enough said. I just really, really, REALLY, don't like them.:mad2: This is just my opinion by the way, but I can't understand how people like them.

So, topic one: What do you think of 'Muse'? Hate/Love/Adore/Detest/etc.........

I've never heard of the Muse. As for bands that I hate...I don't think that I hate any bands, I listen to most everything.

I listen to absolutely anything as well, except for 3 bands/groups.

2. Queens of the Stone Age
3. Beastie Boys

I can't think of any bands that I HATE..but then I listen to almost anything...UNLESS it has those screaming vocals..no amount of instrumentation can redeem those for me.

I think Muse are actually quite good, though I can understand how someone wouldn't like his voice.

I've only heard one of their songs (the one in Guitar Hero III) and I like it.

I've listened to them for years. He has a higher voice, yeah. But he's got a kind of ballad'ish style about him. And he's english :] But yeah. Its definitely better than screamo

Muse are awsome, they're songs are so good! Much better than some rock wanna be bands!

Some bands I hate? MCR; Panica at the Disco they're just.... well I don't have words to describe them they're just terrible.. oh no wait Britney Spears is terrible... hm they're emo!

I like Muse, although I've only heard "Time Is Running Out" by them. I heard it in a youtube video about a guy making his way through a weird Super Mario World rom hack, and really liked it so I downloaded it. I haven't heard much other than that from them though.

Bands I don't like though, hm. It's usually more just individual singers, namely Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne. If you count her as one, (technically she released a few songs...) Paris Hilton is at the top of my hate list. Wouldn't formally count her as a singer though. Just a person who got famous on daddy's money.:mad:

Starlight and Time is running out are the only Muse songs I like. The rest aren't bad, but I don't enjoy them.

And Beastie boys have a lot of awesome songs. :mad2:

And Also MCR's Black Parade Album has a few awesome songs off it, and I do enjoy Helena off three cheers for sweet Revenge. Though asside from around 4, 5 songs, they are ungodly horrid.

And I think I'm one of the only guys on this forum who think Fall Out Boy Rocks. :(

But as for ones I hate, That bastard who made "This is why I'm hot". Nothing can save him from the disgrace of that one song.

And then theres this band called 3-inches of blood. Great Music, but the vocalist ruins any hope that band had at being good.

Lot of Rap and R&B out their that's horrid. Don't care to list all of those bands.

Lot of crappy metal too, like Judas Priest and (Yes, I'm going to say it) Slayer.

Haha yes. I got one of their albums because the track names were pretty epic, but once I heard him sing I almost felt embarrassed for them. :p

Muse are quite good, I like their older stuff a bit more. He has a very talented falsetto and mid-range voice.

The best gig I ever went to was a Muse gig. They aren't my favourite band (not to say they aren't up there though :p) The way Matt Bellamy leaps and prances about the stage whilst singing and playing lead guitar is unreal.

I have one of their albums. I was suprised at how bad it was

Muse are OK. I haven't got any of their albums, but plenty of my friends are fans so I've heard a lot of stuff through them. Bombastic space-rock isn't really more sort of thing, but I suppose if that's what you're looking for then Muse do it better than most. Plus, they put on one hell of a live show.

I don't think I hate any artists. There's a lot of bad music out there, but if a band really believes in what it's doing then I can't see any reason to dislike them just because it isn't my personal taste. At the same time, there are some bands whose attitude really irritates me (Oasis, Kasabian) but who I'll grudgingly admit have a couple of catchy songs. There probably is an artist out there without any redeeming features who I could honestly say I "hate", but since I can't think of any at the moment, I obviously don't feel that strongly about it. :p

I don't really care much for Muse, although they do have a song I remember liking, can't remember it though.
I don't really hate any band. I occasionally throw a jab at a band to piss off a friend in a discussion. Can't say I hate any though, that's a little bit too extreme.

Muse are not great, but they're OK. They've made a couple of songs that I like, but that's about it.

Lol, this thread turned to a Hip Hop/Rap bashing thread in minutes...Anyway, I never heard Muse before and their seems to be a lot of mixed opinions about the band here...

Muse are awesome.

Muse are boring and pretentious for mine, but whatever floats the boat. I also agree that QOTSA are another band that just make my ears want to puke. I hate their songs in Guitar Hero because I hate having to listen to them to progress in a game

I was kinda fond of a couple of muse's songs off absolution, but I love almost everyone on black holes and revolutions xD

apparently a lot of people like either the 'old stuff' or the current cd, so if you haven't listened to both types, maybe you should just to make sure.

I really can't stand Frank Sinatra :(

@Polaris: I agree MCR are really starting to annoy me. I thought they were alright, but recently, whenever I hear one of their songs, I just want to scream. Panic! though, I haven't heard enough of them to make a decision.

I would like muse if they changed their singing style so that they didn't sound SO DAMN WHINY. Knights of Cydonia isn't bad as far as their songs go, especially with the music video which makes it more entertaining.

Fred Durst is whiney. Muse just has a higher pitch

You would too if you put a lot of voice power into every word you sang. With a lot of artists that have exceptionally great voices, you really need to hear them live to appreciate it (way too many studio tricks that make a weak voice sound decent and a strong voice watered down).

Either way, Jeff Buckley > Matt Bellamy. :D

His falsetto is absolutely stunning, but I can understand why people don't like it. I think the most impressive thing about Muse is how much sound they put out with only three guys.

"Knights of Cydonia" also has one of the great music videos ever, but that's really besides the point. I'd love to see them live.
