Revenge of the Screen Names (GAME OVER SIR!)

That’s right. After about a year, the Screen Name Competition is back. For those of you unfamiliar with the competition, 128 screen names vie for the grand title of greatest screen name ever—or at least the best on EoFF. Competitors are divided into eight brackets of sixteen screen names, in which they’re divided into eight different match-ups. You (ideally) select one name from each match-up. The screen name with the majority of votes wins the match-up and moves ahead to the next round. For a more detailed history, check the wiki.

There will be seven rounds in this tournament, and so as to not prolong this too much, I’m gonna take a cue from Agent Proto and go ahead and make each round last about two days (so the tournament as a whole lasts two weeks). Ties will be broken by a randomly selected member who has not already voted. With all that aside, let’s throw down the rules.

The Rules
1. Don’t post your votes.
2. PM your votes to Ouch!.
3. Vote for one name in each match-up in each bracket (you should have eight names left in each bracket).
4. If you do not wish to vote for a specific match-up, just omit it from your votes.
5. Please vote for a majority of the match-ups.
6. Title PMs accordingly for easy recognition.
7. If you wish to change your votes, title the PM “Vote Changes” and list only the votes you wish to change.

A handful of people have had trouble with the bracket-style voting, so I figure I'll just post the tutorial I've been sending them here.

If the sample bracket looks like this:

This means that you should have eight people in each bracket, not one. Each match-up is listed with the same number to the left of their names. Pick one of the two in each bracket, not just one person per bracket. Hopefully that clears things up.

For your voting convenience (and hopefully mine, too), I’m including an attachment at the end of each post beginning a new round with a pre-formated list of the competitors which you can just copy-paste into a PM. Just leave the name you wish to vote for and delete the one you don’t. I’ve faith you can all figure it out. Hopefully.

One minor comment, you might want to save your voting template as a text file for those that don't have a program that can handle .doc files installed on their machine.

Yeah, I wanted to do that initially, but I'm on a machine that won't let me save it as a .txt, so that was kind of a bummer.

You vote for each match-up (indicated by the numbers to the left of the names) in each bracket, so you'll vote eight names in each bracket.

The thing I like most about this competition is looking at the list of former winners, 'cause there are about three names on there that are actually cool and then the rest are utter tripe. It's genius!

Before I post the results, let's examine the histories of the two remaining contestants!

Flying Mullet

Mullet started off round one with a decisive victory against Evastio with a solid 23-8 victory. He stayed strong in round two by crushing theundeadhero 15-4. Mullet pulled out another win against Avarice-ness in round three with a commanding majority of 18-3. It wasn't until the Sweet Sixteen that Mullet met a dangerous opponent in scrumbleberry. Nevertheless, he pulled off the victory 7-5. Mullet doubled El Bandito's votes in the Elite Eight 8-4 and in the Final Four emerged victorious against Behold the Void 11-2.

Death by Moogles
Death by Moogles has had a commanding throughout the tournament, starting with a 25-6 victory against Croyles. The domination grew in the second round with a 19-2 win over Kirobaito, followed by a 15-6 victory over Jessweee♪. Like Mullet, Death by Moogles met trouble in the Sweet Sixteen, but pulled through with a 7-5 victory over 41-Inches-Wide. This was immediately followed by an 11-1 crushing defeat of Spuuky and a decisive 9-3 win over Disco Potato.
