The main mafia game is going pretty slow due to the fact we only have one host, so I decided to make this game for y'all so those who are left will stop giving poor Lekana such a hard time. I know I called this C9, but if this fills up very fast I might accept a few more then 7 People... but for now...

C9 means that only standard mafia, cop, doc, and vanilla roles are in play, right? And there's some kind of randomness on how many of each there are? I read it on the mafia site before but I want to confirm.

Goldenboko was walking down the streets of EoFF, viewing threads and posts he had come to enjoy so, he didn't mind it was 1AM he couldn't sleep, and was tired of laying in bed. Suddenly he heard some cracking of twigs behind him, but he shook it off and continued on his way. But, again, and again, the crackalakin continued, and GoBo started to want to go-oh. He started to run, and he heard the people chasing from behind. He picked up the pace, surely no human could catch up to a Golden Chocobo at full speed he thought. But thats when tragedy struck, one of WarrenW's new propaganda tools ads was installed yesterday without his knowledge, and an unblockable pop-up shot from the ground and tripped him, shouting "DENHAM'S DENTIFRICE!" GB tried to get up before his pursuers caught up to him, but to no avail he had sprained his claw. The assailants caught up to him, and layed him in with blunt objects. Gasping for breath he tried to turn to see his attackers and shout their names for someone to hear, but he turned right into a brick, and with that hit is life ended.

Goldenboko was bludgeoned to death on day zero and was a townie.

Morning came, and EoFF's returned, to find a bloody corpse that was once, Goldenboko... with a note attached...

"We the under appreciated members of EoFF have struck the most evil of our enemies, but this shall not be the end! All those members who have gained undeserved popularity shall perish, until only we, the deserving are left! Count your days, the mafia is here!"

Gasps echoed through the town... A mafia has formed.



Day one begins now, and has 48 hours until night one, start town, avenge me!

Ok, we'll get serious. When I play this game offline I usually go for two different options when voting on day one.

Option A - Vote out the people who don't speak English (this applies often in those games)

Option B - Vote out the least useful player (if they are mafia go us, if they are town then they wouldn't be much help anyway)

So, which should it be?

We have 10 people, so my guess is the mafia have three. In C9 type games, we can't just go after inactive players. We need to get them to post their thoughts, and weed out the scum. Look at the last C9 game, f f freak was killed for not spamming the thread, and she was the cop.

The way qwerty was doing things it didn't really scream scum to me. In the past town has done things to gauge reactions and to just get people posting. Of course I can't go ahead and say it's not a scum move trying to make themselves out to be townie early on, since qwerty is experienced.

And yeah, no one's really "screamed" scum to me either. More posting will have to happen before I can become suspicious of anyone.

It's not that I didn't want to die, but I wanted actual discussion to begin. I just want to play, and nobody wants to die on day 1

I don't think we'll see much, if any at all, suspicious behaviour today. I'm pretty sure everyone here are seasoned enough to not commit the basic mistakes, which will reveal scum as early as Day 1. For the same reason I don't think reactions to being voted for is the key to tell who's suspicious or not, it's been done too.

I think the Cop will be the key to get the mafia this round, and I hope he'll make the right choices. If the doctor is still alive when he gets a guilty result he should roleclaim immediately.

Other way around, you dont even know what i am and you are already voting for me out of pure spite(you were the one that voted for me, with no reason). I am merely responding in kind, because you are acting extremely petty

Therefore i wouldnt be sad even if you were a townie. You would be like link and lara croft in the last game, keeping people's attention on a townie, while the mafia lays low. I dont really want a repeat of last game, so my vote isnt that unreasonable.

Maybe I am being petty and a little unfair. I was only voting for you because I didn't think you were a very good player. I think you are gullible and susceptible to the mafia's lies. Yes, you 'survived' the last two games, but you only did so because you had powerful roles that made you difficult to kill. But I will give you a chance. If another player can vouch for you as a good player who makes intelligent decisions based on deductive reasoning, then I will take my vote off you and vote based on what has gone on in this thread rather than preconceived notions I had going into it.

I think it might be time for a little background info on me to understand my behaviour in mafia games. I almost never lie.. this developed an justice complex you might say.. in short, if someone accuses me of lying when im not, i usually get pretty angry. xD

You'd think you guys wouldve figured that out by now, as its quite an important factor in a mafia game :p.

Just look at the one game where i was mafia. I was quite reserved in that one :)

Del is acting a little scummy right now. I am not getting a good gut feeling from him. AK was quick to defend himself though... hmmm.

Listen everyone. We can not take info from the other mafia games to use here, as many people would act different in this game because it is smaller and everyone knows who they are.

Is this how slow the first game went? I guess with veteran players it is hard to come to a conclusion on day 1.

I could see how my attitude towards AK could be considered scummy, but I was being genuine. You don't think his 'giving up' with only one vote was odd?

Games been pretty inactive, I'm going to impose the, "If you don't vote you have 1 vote against you rule" to make sure everyone votes.

That should be a rule in all mafia games.

I guess it is scummy for AK to give up, but he may just mean he gives up on changing your mind. Even so, as of now you 2 are on my suspect list.

well.. i didnt give up a such that i wont defend myself all the time as in the last game. I saw that because of personal grudges, this would be a similar game, so even if i start defending myself, i'll mostly just start to piss off people. Seeing as that isnt a smart thing to do, i'll let unfounded accusations fly.

Actually in small games, there usually can be voting for a no lynch. It's voting for nobody to be lynched that day. I've played a lyncher+ game where the lynchers target was actually a no lynch vote. It's your call Boko if we can do that though.

I'm not gonna allow that, I want this to be a pretty typical C9.

This is mainly what I wanted. Do you think I am bad at this game? If I was a mafia why would I be the top poster in this thread? You only suspect me because I have been posting. I bet you don't suspect Levian or oddler at all. Not posting is the best strategy a mafia could use in the first days, and if I was mafia I would definitely be employing it.

If I was mafia I would have sucked up to AK rather than pointing him out. If I thought he was a weak player why would I vote him out rather than trying to manipulate him?

You guys need to get over this posting = mafia craze.

My suspicions now turn toward Levian for inactivity. He is usually involved in the mafia games yet he is keeping quiet. Too busy? Perhaps. I'd like to hear from him.

You can try, but until you are a confirmed townie(for example psy in the last game, after the mafia assasin was killed), i wouldnt even consider taking someone's advice, especially yours.

Really? Acting different from how you usually act doesn't sound like a very good strategy to me. Especially if your identity is known, like in this game. If I was a mafia I would act as I always do, which is usually being quite active. I would definitely know something was up if, for instance, Psy was acting silent. I'd probably think he was an important role for the town, though, maybe not mafia.

I've been sleeping and working for the last 36 hours, with the exception of the last 6 hours where I've been having loads of fun with a few close friends of mine. Surely you're not interested in hearing about that, but you want to see me post instead. Will do, captain! I'm not working again till Monday evening.

I don't blame voting people based on inactivity, it's what makes the most people pleased in a known account game when nothing else is suspicious. Being politically correct doesn't necessarily help catching mafia, so I hope this strategy won't happen after today. You'll pretty much have to rely on luck that way, but that's a major part of mafia.

With the exception of mafia, nobody knows the role of anyone in this game. That's kind of the point of this game, you know ;) You shouldn't blame Del Murder for not having a reason either, that's often the case on Day 1 unless someone screws up bad time. Like the others said, you only had 1 vote, chillax. If everyone gave up once they got a vote then we'd all be dead ;) I don't know what to make of your freakout. First I thought maybe you were the cop and that you were upset that you couldn't help the town, but after reading your next post I think maybe you're just town. Just a hunch, you might very well be a mafia putting on a little show, I don't know.

I don't really have a better pick so I'll stick with sir lancealot.

Levian is that a vote? If so could you put it in the vote format in the future, I wouldn't have caught it if I wasn't intrigued by a big post.

I disagree. I still say out of sight, out of mind is still the best strategy any mafia can employ in the first few days at this forum. Day 1 and Day 2 lynches are NEVER inactive players.

I'll believe your story, for now! We have yet to hear more from oddler and Lancelot.

Yeah, it's often the case that an active profiled bickering bucket of fish will be lynched on the first day, and it's a dirty shame, not only because it promotes inactivity but also because this active person will be easier to analyze later on than some inactive person. Still, I don't think it's a good strategy if you're usually very active. If I remember corrently, you haven't been too active in the mafia games I recall seeing you in, so for you it wouldn't be that much of a difference to lower the activity a bit. But if Goldenboko did it (given that his identity is known), I'd find it a bit weird.

Another reason I like to go after the inactives is that they make the game less fun. And the point is to have fun. Since AK is at least posting I'll let him off for this round.
