Eyeson's Next Cid's Knight - ROUND 2

Let's see how much you know about the rules of Eyes on Final Fantasy and what it takes to be a forums moderator.

Please answer the following questions. Answer your questions by making a new thread in the Confessionals Forum that says ROUND 2 somewhere in the title. At the end of the round all of the answers will be merged into this forum for you all to see.

Questions:

1. When is double posting okay?
2. What is the signature size limit?
3. When should the warn button be used and when should it not?
4. How can a banned member get unbanned?
5. What is EoFF's policy on cursing?

6. Psychotic has found your old second account but thinks it belongs to crashNUMBARs. Would you, and if so how, inform him of the discrepancy? You still want to use the account in future.
7. crono_logical is injecting javascript into everyone's posts that makes pictures of penises and vaginas (nonos on eoff!) pop up on every thread. How do you confront him and get him banned, him being an administrator and you a lowly Cid's Knight who can't ban admin?
8. rubah won't shut the smurf up. You're really tired of her spamming everywhere and you think it's giving the rest of the staff a bad, if rather active, name. How do you tell her children are better seen and not heard?
9. Hsu hasn't performed a moderative action in a year. Pick a course of either trying to drive him off staff or drive him to activity and state how you would do it. Assume that Loony BoB is on your side and no one else is.
10. Congratulations! You've just been made a Cid's Knight and you've decided to host a EoFF meetup at your house to celebrate. While you and your fellow EoFF buddies are partying it up, several people manage to browse a bit through the staff forum via your personal computer. What do you do?

You have until Friday, April 4 11:00 pm Pacific time to complete this task.

1-5 were way harder than 6-10 because my memory is dire. 6-10 were just there to be answered honestly!

I think I wrote too much. :p Either way, I think they're like.. 8 or 10 sentences long at the max. I tried to keep them short and sweet but a couple needed a more wordly explanation. :razz:

Well mine is up, I am looking forward to seeing everyones after this round, some of them should be entertaining.

It's 10:30 p.m. and I have a big essay due tomorrow. I will also be gone for quite a while tomorrow. Therefore, I will either fail miserably or slam it out in the last hour or so and barely scrape by.

Yeah, I'm done too. Some of the questions bared thinking about more than others but I didn't have too much trouble with any of them. Like Dan did, I just answered them as honestly as I could.

yeah, couldn't sleep, so I posted

I figured people besides the admins would be reading it, so I tried to add a little flare and what not for their enjoyment as well as some humor (albeit weak)

As always, qwertyxsora's there to help. Rye and Araciel, I'm glad you both are getting some confidence brimming. Looks good on you, if you ask me. :up:

Looking over the questions, it looks like a lot of these imply that you'd be alone in the decision-making. Being on staff, I would think you'd always have someone to check with and everybody would act as a system of checks and balances to each other.

On the other hand, some of these are obviously put in to make you realize that you've got to think for yourself. You've got to stand up and make your voice heard. Who wants a sheep that's going follow everything the others say all the time? I think the current staff wants fresh ideas from the new addition(s) to their ranks.

Again with the gray area. Be back after posting some things in the Confessionals Forum. :greenie:

Actually, if I were going to be verbally attacked (shot with a laser if you will) then I think doing a barrel roll would be the best way for me to deflect the criticisms. Therefore, it's a brilliant solution.

I did have a few jokes pop into my head while I was writing it, but I believe I managed to avoid putting them down. Little consolation to the people who've read my thread (that's right, I mean you), but it's the thought that counts, right?

And there I thought the round would be over before I had a chance to get back online. Guess they are giving more time this round. Or i'm just crazy when it comes to the time limits xD

Actually, the plan was to have the website be down all day, so only those who did it yesterday would be able to move on. However, someone messed up and got the forums back up and running

I think that's a genius plan personally. They need to cut huge numbers, and it's a perfect way to do so "accidentally" while getting only those truly committed to move on.

I think I'm just going to change my EoFF time temporarily to Pacific time because well. Your math confuses me. I'm 2 hours ahead of pacific time, and 11 - 4:20 is 6:40PM, which is 8:40PM for me, except it's only 5:54PM right now...

Unless I'm completely over thinking..

But it should be 7 hours til 11PM pacific time.

Mountain = 1 hour+ Difference from Pacific time. (11pm PST = 12am Mountain)
Central time = 2 hour+ Difference from Pacific time. (11pm PST = 1am CT)
Eastern = 3 hour+ Difference from Pacific time. (11pm PST = 2am EST)

11PM - 4PM = 7 hour difference.

(The GMT -7 should be -8 but the time is still the same)
Either way.. Will the results be posted anywhere near the time that it's ending? It'll be 1am my time and I don't know if I'll be able to make it much longer than 2am.

That kinda defeats the reasoning behind this I think. I mean sure, we would be willing to help, but they (and by they I mean the staff) want us to answer on our own to see how we would each individually handle each situation.

If someone told what they would do then it would inspire other people giving them more of an advantage as it is not fully there thoughts... at least that what I think.

And those volunteering their answers, and those using said answers, could be disqualified. this is essentially a test.

Are we going to find out the results shortly after the round ends or how is this going to work.

The round will be over at 1am, and I don't really wanna wake up in 8 or 10 hours only to find out I didn't make it. XD If the results are to be posted shortly after then I can stay up a bit though!

Yeah, if the results will be up quickly, I'll stay up. The round ends at 2AM for me, so if the results will take a while a warning would be greatly appreciated. :p

The deadline for this round will be in about 30 minutes. However, due to the downtime today I think it is fair to give the people who haven't submitted their entry some extra time. The judging will take a while anyway.

Basically if you entry isn't in by the time we are done judging them, you're out. This could be 1 hour after deadline, or 8 hours after (and unless some other staff wants to wrap this up it will be closer to 8 hours. Mr. Murder needs his sleep).

I suppose then it's more practical to check back after RotJ, eh?

So will we have ample time for our last confession? I have it all planned out if I am eliminated.

I'm sure by the time I awaken out of a drunken haze tomorrow afternoon, I'll be pleasantly surprised ;)

The film or the television series? I only watched a couple of episodes of the TV series and never really got into it, but the film is awesome. Also the reason I'm on at silly times like 8am on a Saturday is that I've time to waste before I leave for work :p

The series xD. My friend has all 10 seasons of SG-1 and the first couple of Atlantis, since I've no more classes or exams, and I leave on wednesday for home, I'm going to watch as much as I can before then xD.

No, they weren't. I don't think BoB watches enough reality TV to know that they do it that way. :D

I don't actually like reality TV that much, so yeah. I did it random with the exception of the last two, which (since they were around) I decided to delay just to make them squirm a bit.
