[A] Rukia Kuchiki...?

I don't really watch anime, but a while ago (a year to be exact) I colored someone's line art, and it ended up being the most popular artwork in my DeviantArt gallery. This was before I had a graphics tablet, so it turned out merely decent. But after a year of having so many people favorite it, I got sick of having that as my "centerpiece" and decided to do another version, using my own line art and refined skills.

Like the old version, it's essentially just a pin-up. I also experimented further with the idea of semi-transparent clothing, and I think it turned out well. The only thing is...upon looking at more images of Rukia it,s kind of hard to see her in this drawing. Oh well... :P

The design and detail on the clothes is easily my favorite part of this drawing.

Well I have a deviantArt account at Gravija-Sunrise.Deviantart.com but I only have 11 or 12 works in there, including line art and PSP wallpaper remakes so there's not much to see. I really don't draw that often. The old version of the Rukia art is in there though.

Okay, the left elbow bothers me. It looks unnaturally flat.

Does look a little bit like Rukia, at least enough that I can see it there. If you had just posted it without naming who it was I would have probably thought it had a bit of Rukia about her anyway. It's awesome quality though.

Neat! I would like to know about your coloring technique - do you know of any tutorial I can use? I can never get the skin on my characters to look that good.

KoShiatar -- One tutorial that really helped me out in the past is this one by Artgerm at deviantArt. If anything, it will show you a process that works well--start with a dark base color and eventually get lighter and lighter. That's how I approach all of my coloring now.

My only complaint lies in her waist, armpits, and elbows. But such complaints are minimal.
