Do You Liek Teh POKEMON?

Okay, so, I used to LOVE Pokemon. I liked to collect the cards (didn't know how to play), played POKEMON STADIUM 24/7, watched the show (I liked the show!), and even had a book about Pokemon.

Anyways, I was just wondering...

What is YOUR favorite Pokemon?

I LIKE...Blastoise, Gengar, JYNX, Eevee (and it's evolutions!), Bulbasaur, and Sneasel.

I feel like such a dork...xD

I used to be absolutely obsessed when I was a kid. Now I'm merely a fan of the games and a self-proclaimed expert at competitive battling. :p

p.s. nidorino is my fave cause i had one that was lvl30 and singlehandedly kicked the ass of giovanni on half health when all my others were dead fainted. so he pwns both charizard and jinx. although i did have a shiny charizard card OUT OF A BOOSTER PACK, GET IN!

I don't have the cards any more, I never legally owned a pokemon game apart from red. I saw the first movie, it was pretty cool. The rest looked a bit rubbish. I watched the anime if I came across it whilst channel surfing. I think pokémon red was the first game I owned. I used to be able to recite the first 151 xD

Yeah, pokemon were brilliant.

Pokemon is getting a bit dated now, but it's still an awesome game. As for the anime, it's getting a bit samey. Ash goes to new region. Ash meets up with female character from game. Female character from game enters contests instead of gym battles. Brock turns up because he and Ash are so clearly in love. Team Rocket fail at life. Borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.

And as previously stated, Charizard > all.

Oh, y'all, Pokemon was so special back then...But the topic is: WHAT is your favorite Pokemon(s)?

Also, how come there's a Pokemon "god"? Arsecus, or whatever...

You know it's funny just today I had a conversation with a friend about How I used to watch pokemon and stuff. I remember alway waking up early with my brothers to watch it. I played most of the game boy games (I don't play any of the new ones) and I collected the cards but I never learned how to play it I would really just take 'em from my bros.

I loved it back in the Red/Blue days. Then they added 100 Pokémon, and I was done.

I did buy the FireRed/LeafGreen rereleases. It was quite nostalgic.

They were too easy in comparison to the original, and it wasn't as much fun.

Gold/Silver/Crystal, though. Now those were fun. 16 Gym leaders, Johto AND Kanto, plus a hidden final boss. I still wonder why they don't do those for the newer releases...

That is why Gold and Silver are the best pokemon games ever! Mostly because of Totodile too. Even though Piplup was very close to being the most awesome pokemon ever first time I saw it, then it evolved :mad:

Also has anyone tried the Mysterious Dungeon games. Mostly Explorers of Darkness/Time. Talk about a downer ending.

I used to be really into pokemon as a kid, and got back into it about a year ago after about 7 years :jess:. My favorite pokemon are pachirisu, espeon, psyduck, and jigglypuff.

I'm currently playing through Leaf Green, and am trying to collect 1 card of every pokemon :D. And I actually got into the whole Pokemon thing by playing Pokemon Snap :p

Magicarp is my favourite. I almost cried during that bit in D/P when the lake was drained and all those Magicarp were dieing.

I was obsessed with them when I was a kid. Collected cards, watched the show and so on.

What is interesting is that it's still going strong. I work as a teacher for kids between the ages of 5-9, and because of them I have to deal with Pokémon every single day. They switch cards, play with them (although they don't know how to do it) and whatnot.. and apparently some of the cards are "LEGENDARY" because they have some glitter on them or look really cool. It's all very amusing, and just the fact that they're playing with the same stuff as I used to do is quite funny.. I still remember the days where there only were 150 Pokémons around.

Well you'll just have to wait. You can't buy fire stones in G/S/C so she's the only way. That or find one in an item ball somewhere.

I think the old man in Bill's house gives you a Fire Stone if you show him Growlithe. Or was it Vulpix?

I haven't played since the days of gold and silver. I have a Wii now. Wish they could make some online MMO type game that would probably bring me back in. My old party was Jolteon, Blastoise, Hitmonlee, Mr. Magic (Hypno), Sandslash, and Cinderella (Pidgeot).

'Cute' Pokémon are okay for maybe the first two Gym Leaders, but then you have to make the transition from 'Cute' to 'Cool.'

My favorites are Charizard, Snorlax, Dragonite, Typhlosion, Skarmory (Mainly because of the sound it makes when it comes into battle.), Lugia, Rayquaza (Shiny Rayquaza FTW) and Empoleon. Empoleon is one of the few that I like from that rubbish new Generation.

I enjoyed kicking in Snubbulls, or whatever they're called. All the stupid NPCs were, like, "OMG snubl iz so kyoot!". Stupid morons.

i liked, even was obsessed with, it once. i played rby, gsc and rse. i played the cards (to some extent, then just collected them), and had several books (y'know those kinds that help you through the game without gamefaqs?), and watched the show. but now... meh. i'm just sickened by dp. just sickened. the pokemon look like the creators are running out of ideas (which they probably are).

now i play pokemon sometimes, just to try new stuff like attempting an LLG or whatnot ;) the lowest level i completed rby with blastoise was 54, haha.

oh yeah, my favorite pokemon is tyranitar. big dinosaur thing. awesome stats and movepool ftw.

YES, ME AND MY FRIENDS DID THE SAME THING! Only that was before we lost our cards, and we called them "Pokyzon" so that noone could sue us for copyright infringement (or so we thought) and we picked our favourites and spent forever playing as them in a sort of semi-parodical manner. Ah, I remember it well...the tumbleweed...the fat pigeon...the water horse thingy...the thing that was just a dog but with some shiny jewellry implanted in it...the completely weird thing that was so covered in feathers and tails and shinies that you couldn't tell what on earth it was meant to be...

The games are pretty good. I have an awesome team in Ruby.
The highlight is a Lv 79 Slaking with stats in the 300s. It knows Slack Off, Earthquake, Hyper Beam, and Yawn.

Now that I have an actual DS charger that works (my old one is busted), I'm starting to get into a competitive battling mood. I eventually have the goal of having at least one of every evolutionary line that I could use for competitive battling regardless of how ineffective in battle it might be. EVs, natures, items, movesets; practically everything other than IV's -- even I don't have that much patience -- factors in.

...Did I even battle anybody here?

What I liked most about pokémon was that almost everyone in my school played it.

Trading pokémon then battling them was ace. I remember when my level 70 Pidgeot owned some girl I knew. She was like "bawww" and I was like ":D"

What a great memory.

No one I know IRL plays Red/Blue nowadays. They're all like "yay halo and other generic Xbox360 games B)". -sigh-

I play Red and Blue. They're great. :(

I have Yellow, but i can only play for about a half-hour before it deletes my file. :(
