The best games I like are coming out for pc. I'll buy a console for FF XIII and FF V XIII, but which is going to have the better version you think? I'm not sure which one has best graphics and other stuff.

If there is a difference it will barely be noticable is my guess.
Well they say they're going to finish the PS3 version and then port it over to the Xbox 360. I don't believe they're not going to keep the Xbox 360 in mind during development, but I'm guessing if one version is better than the other, it will be the PS3 version.
^ yeah that about sums it up. I mean Nomura said it would be one of the first games to take full advantage of the ps3's specs, so if that's true, the ps3 version should be better (although i'm pretty sure the 360 has a better graphics card).

I'm being helped with the waiting for Final Fantasy XIII with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, that helps! I'm still not sure yet about Fallout 3 though. :)

Well ever since Final Fantasy had its first date to the Playstation one, they've been married ever since, from Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X, and XII its been a mainstay. However now many games are porting to the Xbox.
Grand Theft Auto IV, a game which like FF was dominant on the Playstation was ported to Xbox 360.
However to say what will be better... its Tough. Xbox has a better multiplayer than the playstation (In my opinion) however this ain't a XI, its a single player and I think the playstation 3 would be the best pick.
Although whatever system your comfortable is good.
I think the developers will pay more attention to the playstation 3 version.:moomba:
They're going to be the same. If you're going to be picky and try to discern the two graphical differences between the two versions, you're an dick anyway.
Just pick one up for whatever controller feels comfortable, imo. I like my DualShock 3 over my 360 controller, so I'll be getting it for the PS3.

Yea, Final Fantasy Agito XIII for cellphones, not announced for Usa yet though, hopefully it will come out here though. It's from the same exact team of FF VII: Before Crisis, FF VII: Crisis Core, and Kingdom Hearts: Coded. Also, the director, Hajime Tabata, is directing The 3rd Birthday(cellphone, 3rd Parasite Eve game). Recently, this guy could have been working on five projects at once! This is something I didn't know. Apparently Microsoft charges extra royalty fees for extra discs. Apparently they're big enough for John Carmack to say that making Rage more than two discs on Xbox 360 wouldn't be financially viable. Rage is going to be compressed to two discs, which means it'll look worse than it's PS3 counterpart. I wonder what this means for Final Fantasy XIII? Will it really be printed on an assload of DVDs? Will it be compressed to hell to fit on fewer DVDs? Will the whole project be scaled down?

If a small shooting game like R2 needs the full dual-layer disc, then Square-Enix's Final Fantasy XIII will surely take alot of space.
Square-Enix always pushed the system to it's limits.
And there will be many disc of dvds for FFXIII, it's one of the first things they've said when announcing it.
"We're not sure how many disc would be required nor if the 360 system could support the game"
Don't forget, FFXII used CG graphics in order to make it fit on a DVD because they couldn't get all that level of realism and make it work.

In March 2009 Japan will get with the Blu-Ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, a demo of Final Fantasy XIII, and you will need a Playstation 3 to play it. Unless some other Xbox 360 demo is announced, that confirms it, I'll be getting a Playstation 3! I hope the demo doesn't take too long after that to come out in the Usa though.
I have time before that though to upgrade my pc and car.

This is very simple. It will turn out like every other multiplatform release in the world. The console which the game was initially programmed for will get the best performance and quality. The consoles which get a port of the game will get slightly less performance and quality. Even a PS2 game that's ported to the Xbox can end up looking and performing better on the PS2, regardless of the fact that the Xbox is probably twice as powerful as the PS2. This is more often the rule than the exception.
As far as I (and everyone else) knows, FF13 is first being developed for the PS3.
Now, the 360 is not twice as powerful as the PS3, so work out the rest for yourselves.
Both consoles have an equal amount of RAM, by the way. The only difference is how the RAM is organized.

I own a Xbox and a PS2 and used to have alot of respect for the Xbox console, but that respect has long disapeared for me...
And I lost respect for the Xbox console way before I purchased my PS3 this month. Simply because theses new guys are constantly bashing out other non-problematic consoles...

Would they try to compress what I believe is going to take 40GB into the dvd or will Square-Enix be charged more for multiple dvds?

Hyperion, If you want to play the PS3 version on your PS3, then just go right ahead. Some of us may want to play it on an Xbox.
