Lightning doesn't have a hideous scar going down her face, so I'd have to disagree.
Final Fantasy characters seem to be based on just one template anymore. Hell, it was asked that Lightning be designed to be girl-Cloud.
I'm one of them I guess. Never drew any comparisons myself. But I'm not particularly fond of FFVIII anyway, so it usually doesn't come to mind for... anythingQuote:

But then again, I still dont think Lightning looks that much like Cloud, even with the comparison. I think the similarity is only in the jaw line or w/e.
Didn't you know? After FFVII Square being cheap kept the actor who played Cloud to play the roles of Squall, Tidus, Vaan, and Lightning.
I mean how could people not know that? It's not like Nomura can't create more then the same rehashed character over and over. *cough* :shifty:
It's a silly question to ask since they pretty much all look alike.
But when Square-Enix said they wanted a Cloud based women, apperantly a White, Gun/Sword using women who looks tought came out of it.

Sieg Wahrheit, Cloud Strife, Squall Leonheart, Lightning, Genesis Rhapsodos, Gackt. All Bishonen (and shonen-like girls) tend to look alike. That is simply the "pretty" format that most every company is now expected to follow. Personally, I'd like to see a main character who looks more like Sado from BLEACH or Kurobara from Hakusho. I'm tired of seeing the same model. It just seems like they're running it into the ground. Hell, it's trailing sparks already and soon will burst into flames. Then, we'll be left with a smoking turd.

I want a Final Fantasy where the main character looks like Eric Cantona. And makes interesting comments with a very French accent.
