I dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I have never heard the term until, that Palin women menioned it in her speach.
I have heard of "Soccer Moms" before, but never "Hocky Moms". (btw, if it's a famous American term, I wouldn't know - as I am not an American.)
No idea, she probably meant Soccer mums, I'm not the best with American politics but the Daily Mail says she's pretty dumb, so...
I'm assuming it's supposed to be the same thing as "Soccer Mom", but she's from up north, where hockey is more popular than soccer.

Alaska is north of Canada so it has a lot of Canada's customs. Including a love of hockey.
Hockey moms are soccer moms who bring their kids to hockey practice instead of soccer practice. Honestly, not everything that comes out of the woman's mouth is oozing with stupidity.

I don't see how someone could know what "soccer mom" means but it boggled by "hockey mom." People who fail to see simple connections like that worry me.
