I'm having a harry potter marathon... cause I'm cool like that.
Have you ever spent a day on a certain movie series or even tv series, you know what maybe even an actor marathon? If so what was it? Why was it worth your time?

I spent 18 hours playing Megaman in an endurance race.
(I came in second)
Star Wars movies, 1-6, including Clone Wars (the old version, not the crap that was released recently). Why? Because my cousins suck at marathoning, and yet, they love Star Wars. I was the only one still awake after that. I've also marathon'd Pirates of the Caribbean and LotR, but those are far more manageable. There's also a good number of anime that I've watched in sequence amounting to more than 6 hours, including Tengen Toppa, which is good enough of an excuse itself. Not that you'd know.
I once spent 16 hours one Saturday and 14 on the Sunday doing nothing but playing Skies of Arcadia from start to finish. So awesome <3
Lord of the Rings, extended editions, back to back. My god that was stupid of me.
Disney Weekend of Magical lazyness. We watched ALL of the classics. In order of production, with nap breaks every six movies.
By Black Cauldron we were zombies.
So worth it though.
stu and I had star wars and LOTR marathons last fall. It was pretty fun.
I've done some marathon HP book reading, but not since they all came out. It'd be fun to do.
Star Wars Episode 1-6 (I wanted to do the Clone Wars miniseries as well, but I'd left the DVDs at home) and the Lord of the Rings extended editions back-to-back-to-back.
Separate occasions, of course.
I have done the following:
- Extended versions of Lord of the Rings
- Three seasons of Veronica Mars (With some sleep in between, but in about two and a half days or so)
- Firefly (~10 and a half hours)
- Harry Potter series (I've also seen the first film alone about 35 times)
I would do Star Wars but I don't like bad movies.
House marathon. I'm not sure how much I've seen in just one day, but a fair amount of episodes. I did the first two seasons in a few days.
Same with South Park, seasons 7-9. I've watched basically all other episodes of South Park at some time or another.
Woah. No one told me that sleep or breaks in between was allowed. That adds a good number of shows to my list, including House 1-3 and The OC 1-4.
LotR Extended is only 11 and a half hours, about. Star Wars 1-6 + Clone Wars is a good 16+.
I can't do that :kaodizzy:
Video games are another story, though. I once beat Threads of Fate three times in one day. If you're playing on a cleared file after defeating both Mint and Rue's story you can probably beat the game in as little as four hours.
oh yeah. I watched all of trigun in a blur of three-four days x.x;
There was a Star Wars marathon in the lobby of my dorm that I went to for kicks. It was full of ultra-dorks that came with their lightsabers and said most of Darth Vader's lines with him. That was incredibly cute. They even lightsaber battled a few times. I sat in the back and watched them go! I'm always game for being the audience. But anyway, yeah, I stuck around and watched them all. It was only the original trilogy, though. I'm very unimpressive. But I don't think Episode III was even out yet.
I've watched my share of Buffy in a row, but nothing I would call a marathon. I did play Silent Hill 2 and 3 back-to-back one day, but at that point I could finish both in a second and a half. Not very impressive either. Imma eat a cookie anyway.
I did a Dresden Files marathon of sorts, buying and reading the first nine books in the space of three days. So very worth it. :D
Marathoned Firefly/Serenity with some of my friends. An overdose of Whedon and Chinese food is really a good idea for any occasion!
I tried to marathon a season (two?) of Buffy with another friend, but we only got like, 10 hours into it.
Marathoned all of The Long Way Round, which was awesome.
Oh, and I tried to marathon all of The 10th Kingdom but we never got around to the last VHS.
Marathons are just win at life.
LoTR Extended. Also Dexter first season if you count "marathons" with sleep breaks and stuff.
I did the LoTR marathon, though I don't think it's the extended edition. The longest I ever played a video game was like 23 hours, with no rest breaks. Occasionally I got some water, but that was it. I do believe I was 9 or 10 and I was playing FF VII. I managed to do the whole second disc iirc
You're all weirdos. I could never sit through more than about 3 hours of anything without getting bored to the point of suicide. Probably why it took me a year to finish FFIX and X, and I still haven't finished FFXII. I haven't managed to finish the third LotR film either
Before my mom was caught up on Lost and Battlestar Galactica, we would sit down on a weekend after the DVD's came out and watch an entire season in 2 days. Usually with fewer episodes to watch on the second day than the first.
That would actually make you the weirdo, if you're the only one here who hasn't at least tried a marathon.
Attempted Lord of the Rings a while ago with friends, but my friends suck and got bored before Fellowship was even halfway done. Also did the first three Star Wars films with my ex, never got around to the final three.
My friend and I spent about a bajillion years watching the Star Wars saga in one go. :D
*reads thread*
Obviously a bad time for me to come in, then. :rolleyes2
I did watch Episodes III - VI of Star Wars in one day actually (on the day the III DVD came out), but that doesn't count because I didn't watch I and II.
That's fair enough, Psy. I and II should be repeatedly shot.
I have also done the extended versions for Lord of the Rings. I never ever wanted to do that, or ever have any other sort of marathon, but back in February I got really smurfing sick, and couldn't even get out of bed, so I figured I might as well entertain myself if I'm going to be stuck here feeling like. It was awful though. I hated it. But still strangely feel like I have accomplished something.
