Newbie Committee

Who wants to start up/join a newbie committee?

I'll join. What does it involve?

I don't. I think new member registration should no longer be allowed. But that's just me.

I'll join, if I'm qualified :)

Anyone who hasn't joined in the last five days is qualified!

I haven't thought about it too much yet, but I think one of the duties will be to randomly usernote people who have joined recently, maybe just once every five days or so. (yes I just went through and did this and that's where I got the idea xD)

Other things might be to promote newbie awareness of the 'chat' forums, since they usually don't realize there is a top half to the fora.

I would make an Anti-Newbie Committee but I'm not dedicated enough.

I will personally PM the last five members, every day, to inform them of things they probably did not know. Unless I forget, in which case I probably won't do anything.

Can I join?

I'm all for spamming up n00ber notes.

Well I am all for getting more people to post in the cool people forums... of course they have to be cool to qualify! Spreading awareness of the Graphic/Writing forums would also be a good deal.

Also promoting firefox so that the nooblets have a spell checker to show them just how awful their posts are would be nice as well.


However, I am the type to take an interest in something and then quickly grow bored of it. So I probably wouldn't be a good idea for a candidate :/.

I think getting new members to lurk more general chat is a sure-fire way of making them leave and never come back

Theres a problem. This group is built on the basis of not having to do anything, and not caring what its members do. To go through all that effort is against my personal beliefs, and given how the club itself does not require its own creation, its not likely to happen.

Really its not even an anti-newbie group, just a name. :p

This is what I do at my youth group, just virtually. :P

I just VM'd the last 15 or so new members that aren't banned and PM'd those that had PMs enabled, so I guess you might as well sign me up.
