Earth First!
We'll pave the other planets later!
Save a life, Hug a tree.
I'll stop cutting down trees and cutting up animals just for the giggles.
don't drive your scooter from your [on-campus] dorm.
Don't buy big ass trucks and mock the ones that do. Also run, those people with big ass trucks are insecure and big themselves.
Hey, you. Yeah, you.
Look down. See those long things attached to your ass? They're called 'legs'. Use them when you can and stop driving so much.
:p
i suppose from now on when im camping and drinking i wont pointlessly cut down a tree like i do every time im camping.
besides that ill agree with Momiji start walking more lazy people. itll help with obesity too and youll stop sitting around doing nothing but eating which will decrease the levels of methane you produce :D
also ride a bike thatll get you there faster.
Do not attempt to create black holes.
Well one big way we could save on resources would be to make paper bags all over the world instead of plastic bags. There is a good valid argument however against such bags and that is: It rains and paper + water = fail. However if we were to coat the paper in a form of natural wax coating it would be water resistant to most showers (bear in mind the average life expectancy of a plastic bag is 11 minutes we'll carry it for 10 mins or so then bin them) atleast for the amount of time on average we need to get them home. The best thing to note about the idea of wax covered paper bags is; it's 100% recycable. Simply by during the paper boiling process distilling or skimming the now liquid form wax off and keeping it we can 100% recycle the paper in to new paper bags and when it comes to coating them we can re-use the wax we skimmed from them. I do not deny however this idea would be very expensive to develop and get started but then what with recession fears, oil shortages and all that jazz going on it's probably the best time for the governments to set such proceedures in place and thus save on plastics (made from oil) and to spend their way out of recession.
Everyone should have electric cars so no more petrol. ^__^ Oh and take the train instead of a plane. :)
Kill everyone else. One person can't do that much damage by himself, can they?
But I need bottled water. I don't drink tap water. ;;
where do you think bottled water comes from, honey?
It's just a bigger tap further away that you can't see!
In some places, tap water just isn't fit to drink.
Rye most likely does not live in one of those places. :P
Rye's college has tap water issues. Normally I don't approve of bottled water, because it's just water from farther away, and the bottles are horrible to look at on the sides of roads because people like to litter. However, in her case, it's a necessity.
I lurv how trendy saving the planet has become, all these girls with the "MY BAG IS NOT PLASTIC" bag and what have you. Big deal, you're driving your mom's hummer still, bitch~ I liked being environmentally friendly before it was cool and still had a green mullet

Basically I'm already a pretty green person. I only travel by public transit, and recycle, I use my green bin, I try and reduce my waste output as much as possible, I turn lights off (I don't have any on right now, actually, natural light ftw) ... but on the other hand I'm pretty bad for smoking (bad emissions D:) and for leaving taps running when they don't need to be. Oh well~
I have a better idea to save the planet. Instead of all that crap, we just let every man get a vivasection. :)
I mean, nobody dies, we just live until we are done. It doesn't even have to be a sad time, I mean, we can use up everything. xD
And the last person.. well, turns off the light. xD
Get a big[or several] one gallon jug and take it to your local supermarket to get it refilled.
I go home every second week-end so I just get mom to fill them up for me :D
If you have to drive, get a fuel efficient car. Mine gets 34/46 mpg city/highway, and I sometimes wonder if I should've got a slightly more expensive car just to save more on gas (I can get up to 50 mpg highway if I had a mini or something), but ultimately we have a preference limit on function over style. Oh well.
Once they make cars like this affordable, it will be a fun world to be in. I'm hoping my 2nd car will either be a motorcycle (fuel efficient) or an electric car.
i bought a cloth bag from walmart so i dont have to use platic bags anymore. does that count? :)
Eat organic or at least buy from local markets. Better for you and for the rest of the world.
And don't give me thatabout how you have no local market. Yes you do, you just don't know where it is.
Next step - organic and homemade personal products. I'm pretty close to just making my own shampoo because I rule and you guys suck.
Organic foods are unnecessarily expensive.
Public transport. Use it.
Actually, the water is clean now! No more poo water, Justin, yay! It's nice to not shower poo water anymore, but I do miss my college giving out giant liter Aquafina's because of the contamination. Mmmm! My favorite kind of water. Nestle bottled is inferior, and it's the kind the store closest to me sells. :[ But my Mom brought up crates and crates of Aquafina though, so I'm well happy.

Bottled water tastes right, esp. Aquafina. Poland Spring as well. The best kind of bottled is Smart Water.

It's well worth the extra cost, it's the best tasting water ever. And yes, brands of water all have different tastes! I won't drink water that tastes wrong. I used to drink tap water when I lived in NYC, because the reservoirs are much cleaner and it tastes good. Water on Long Island tastes like icky doo doo, as does Rhode Island tap water, so when I moved to Long Island when I was a kid, my family decided we would only drink bottled water, so I've only drank bottled water for the majority of my life!
The best way to describe how most tap water tastes to me is the adjective "heavy." It doesn't taste quite right.
I try to be environmentally considerate, but I need bottled water. That's something I don't budge on. I'd like to just drink tap, especially since buying crates of bottled water is money consuming in college, but my taste buds just don't agree! I use tap water for brushing my teeth, washing dishes, and easy mac (though I actually use it for the later anymore because I'm still poop water paranoid.)
Turn your lights and TV off when you leave the room, plz.
Rye is wrong. Deer Park is the best form of bottled water. Honorable mention goes to Fiji.
Many places in the world can have water that is either contaminated (gee, I wonder if malicious organisms are good for you) or littered with heavy metal ions. Heavy metal ions are not good for you. Mercury and lead are not good for you, and there a great number of places, especially in big cities that have lead pipes. I wonder what those lead water pipes hold. OHH SNAP THEY HOLD TAP WATER? LOL PARADOX
But, if we all want a greener world, what we need to do is buy mass amounts of spray paint cans, and paint everything green.
