FFVI music, of course!
The entire FFX soundtrack
The Ending Theme to FFVIII always partially makes me feel the elation I felt when I first saw the ending to that game. I also find Life Stream in FFVII immensely sad for some reason.
As far as emotional, any of the FFVIII orchestral pieces. Orchestrals in general get to me, but I love those ones in particular.
As far as physically, Laguna's battle theme is an awesome dance beat! :D
As much as I hate FFVII, I adore the soundtrack, and I find that many of the songs move me.
Terras theme from FFVI is one of my favourites, but the Aeris theme still gets to me
I could have sworn I already posted here, but of course it is undoubtedly You're Not Alone, The Skies Above, and most of all Melodies of Life. Those are some songs that will evoke some emotions.
All FF has a music piece that moves you, but these in particular:
- Aerith's theme
- Zanarkand's theme
- End theme of FFVIII
- That theme where Zidana comes out of the throne and starts smacking people around.
- Aria of FFVI
>>> An FFT theme, I think its called "Ovelia`s Worries"..
All of it, to be precise.
Well I too like all of them, but I really think just the first few chords of "Return to Zanarkand" can bring that game back in a flash. Most all of the music brings to the series this quality, it is so part of the games and then some.
Most "moving" of them has to be Final Fantasy X "Suteki da ne".
(rikki if your reading this please marry me hehe)
I agree with OP; the FFIX soundtrack is just a hair behind it. That said, nearly every FF game has a number of fantastic and moving pieces.
Well, as amazing everyone says FFVII's music is... it's not. I think the music that moved me the most was FFVIII. It was the one with the most complexity.
^Most complexity?
Explain...
I think Uematsu tried a lot more things with FF VIII's soundtrack. The whole time compression and witch stuff really lent themselves well to new kinds of music composition. However, I still think that on the whole I prefer VII's music.
FF music that moves me...
"Celes's Theme" from FF VI; "Aerith's Theme," "Judgement Day," "Interrupted by Fireworks" from FF VII; "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec," "Silence and Motion," "The Mission," and the world map theme from FF VIII; "You're Not Alone" from IX; a whole lot from FFX, though particularly the ending theme, "Someday the Dream Will End," and "Silence Before the Storm," "Eruyt Village" from FF XII.
All of these songs either make me bawl or give me an adrenaline rush...or both at the same time.
As of this point in my life right now, The Price of Freedom from Crisis Core. One of my favourite videogame songs ever.
The theme of Balamb (town) tucked me in and put me to sleep the other night.
"Zanarkand" and "Suteki Da Ne" from FFX always make me tear up. x3
Also, I like "Celes's Theme" from FFVI. Very beautiful song.
Have to admit that "Why" from Crisis Core is starting to get there on the songs that remind me of the games and brings back that lov'n feeling. :p
The Rebel Theme from FF2.
Rosa's Theme from FF4.
The Overworld Them from FF6 (both WoB and WoR)
And of course, the main Final Fantasy theme.
Every one of them. 'A Fleeting Dream' from FFX is probably the one that moves me most.
The Main/Overworld theme of FFVII can do that quite easily. Besides that, Celes' theme from FFVI as well as Loss of me from FFIX.
It's a hard tie between FFIX and FFX with FFVIII shortly behind.
But only because I hate Rinoa so much.
It's not the mot complex piece in the world, but for some reason I get a feeling when I hear Cloud Smiles. The obvious favourite To Zanarkand made me cry... so I played it for my GCSE Music coursework along with Aerith's theme. I could listen to The Promised Land for hours., it makes me want to howl.
All FF music moves me, otherwise I wouldn't have learnt any of my instruments at all!
Everything on FFT's soundtrack, right down to the last bleep-bloop. In particular: Antidote, Battle on the Bridge, Trisection, Apoplexy, The Pervert.
