Unless specifically mentioned in your Assignment PMs, all Mafia related discussion must happen in the Official game thread. When night comes you can not discuss in the game thread.
General remarks such as "I like cheese" will be tolerated, but it is preferred you use your real account for that.

Do not reveal your role privately to each other.
You can of course roleclaim as part of your strategy in this thread.
Just don't do it outside the game. Doing so will involve an immediate mod kill, several pounds of wet fish and Psychotic's bare.. well, you get the picture.

Voting is NOT required, but strongly encouraged. There will be no penalty for not voting. If zero votes are cast by the deadline, the day ends with no lynch.

Play nice. Even if you are using second accounts, don't resort to flaming and whatnot. Kill each other without resorting to being mean. Name calling is not acceptable, and after three warnings a replacement will be found.
General irony is, of course, acceptable.


Please make all posts in the Game thread under your specific Mafia accounts.

Play fair. Also known as the "don't be a slowpoke (ass)" rule.
Being an ass includes cheating, diverging completely from your assigned role, going back and deleting or editing all your posts, using asshole-ish methods to find out information about other people's roles, etc.
Do NOT use your Mafia accounts to post in any non-Mafia related threads.

Sign me up. I've been involved in all the major games, that includes hosting two. I enjoy the game, it gives me something to do and lets me use my intellect to manipulate you sheeple. It's fun and entertaining ^_^

I think those who are quitting are the ones who invest too much into this game. It's a game, it's meant to be fun, it's meant to be frustrating. Not something you need to obsess over or throw fits about. Every thing that happens in the game is in the game if you let it affect you so greatly well, someone needs to take a chill pill. It lets me know who can and can't handle pressure well.

Now I can understand the people who have busy lives quitting but those who got mad too easily (BH) or those who obsessed too much (gobo) they just make me shake my head. It's your choice though. I respect that but that's just my opinion on the whole thing.

Hi. I'm a second account. Specifically, I'm one made aaaages ago by good ol' Psychotic for a joke in some Feedback thread. (I think you can dig it up if you search Feedback) The irony of a second account playing as a second account is not lost on me.

Why use this account? I knew if I acted like me, you'd all know it was me (I am not subtle okay :(), even if I tried to act like a newbie I'd still slip up, and so I needed to create an extra part of the illusion. You would all associate Mom with the "hi ppl whats up :bounce:" tidusluvr633 from this thread. It worked! Why do it? Because you all want me dead, as tonight proves. :p Also, as I am slightly bored with mafia I decided I wanted to try a little something new, especially because the game needed more players and AK and Jesswee/DBM had been in the games I hosted, so I wanted to play and return the favour.

Also, as a little experiment. People often complain "oh you're only doing that because Psychotic says so!" in mafia and let me do all the work. What would happen if Psychotic's words came out of a newbie's mouth?

Answer? You want to smurfing lynch them :laugh: I was not playing badly. I honestly think I was using good logic. Those are the exact posts I would have made if I had been playing as Psychotic instead of tl633. Seriously, if you want to argue with the logic in my nubby posts I can do that all day long. It's sound. You guys chose Mom as the path of least resistance: A newbie who you could easily take down. For shame.

When Psychotic says those words, he somehow avoids the lynch (thanks Jiro, I will talk about how awesome you are in just a moment). Maybe this little exercise will prove that you should read the words that are said, not who said them. ;)

The reason why I lied about being replaced and put Psychotic into the game was because I was trying to play as well as I could. If you're vanilla town, you don't want to die, do you? You do everything you can to stop it. I knew only one thing could have a chance at stopping mom being lynched: Psychotic. And somehow he pulled it off, that dirty freak!

Also I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to AK once again for not letting him in the loop. I should have done and it was a mistake. I've apologised privately but I'm also making a public apology too. EoFF deserves to know that I can be an idiot sometimes!

Was Jiro's sacrifce for nothing? Absolutely not. I was dead either way. I knew that. So the deaths ended up as either: Psychotic + mafia's choice or Psychotic + town's choice. A town choice of death is obviously superior to the mafia's, even if they do choose a townie to die. So very well played Jiro tbqh.

Also yeah blob you're right I was playing up the newbie angle and god damn kudos to you for figuring that out. I'm not that survivor guy though, I did genuinely want to help!

Lessons learned? Never play as a second account playing as a second account in mafia again. Banning this one now. :p

Full disclosure: I was Lekana's partner, and was added late to the game. Lekana was very busy with school and moving, and so asked me to help her out, and I was the one who made the last few Leela posts. It was rather difficult to do since she had put herself into the spotlight with some rather questionable posts and statements, and she was getting easily frustrated. I tried to play myself off as a replacement, which was valid enough since I really didn't make or have any say in the previous posts of Leela's. It was still rather apparent I wasn't getting out of this one, so I think I did the best I could with what I had been given.

I am otherwise satisfied with how the game is going, though. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Oh right, I'll change that after the night.

Also yeah you were inactive, fine. People do get busy. Defend yourself by all means. But to then declare yourself the patron saint of inactives and going around defending other inactives (ie morbo) is just asking for an ass-kicking. And you got one, scum. :)

I stand by my statement that because a lot of other people do get genuinely busy and are inactive, a mafia could fake inactivity (and would be smart to do so) to fit in with them. Can't just say "I am inactive" and expect a free ride until the end game. Not on my watch, suckahz.

Personally I thought it was brilliant.

Everything about that was right, I love Psy, very hard, for that debacle. Anyone who argues otherwise fails.

I think Day Three is the most critical day in mafia. Someone has to take control and be town leader. (or you can have multiple leaders too, maybe) If you try before then, you're going to have the town trying to lynch you (see: Mafia VII, Day 1! Day 2 I just pretty much said "if you pull that crap on me again, I will smurfing shoot you". xD). I don't know why but anyone talking gets taken down on day one and day two - even if you're pro-town, act pro-town, talk pro-town - and there's nothing you can do about it. Just learn from it, and watch who does what on Day Three and make your move.

Otherwise you're just going to keep on drifting and drifting and it'll all be too late. You shouldn't write Day 1 and Day 2 off as a loss though. Make a few testing posts here and there if you want, but don't go all-out on anybody yet.

EDIT: although that's not to say you should blindly follow someone like me (although it helps :D). Look at qwerty! He never listens to my crackpot ramblings and does his own thing and he's a very decent player indeed.

The recent posts in this discussion thread are part of the reason why I'm not playing this game.

Also, finals. But more that first thing.

I really like this game 'cause it shows you sides of people you didn't know they had :spin:
