My first completed attempt at a Final Fantasy fanart.
What do you think?
I like Rydia. She's got all it takes to be a summoner: beauty, cleverness, courage....and a razor sharp tongue!

Wow! ^_^ Excellent!
>>> She looks like a witch, Very nice coloring too..
That's really great, especially the colouring. :)
I have no idea who Rydia is, but I think I'm in love [img]http://home.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/heart.gif[/img]
I read the title as conjurer of breasts.
I was dissapointed. :p
Very nice though, I don't have much patience for colouring pencils, so it's nice to see someone using them well. :)
I wouldn't want to mess with her.
Chaos
Now THIS is flattering! :DQuote:

Edited for mistakes! Bad, bad keyboard >.<
Ooh, those are really nice! ^_^ The coloring is really good.
I'm still quite far from the result I wanted to get, so I ask you: is this drawing any good?

Uhh....I cant access the page....
~Keep it gooey~
Woops. It's on my Deviantart page, but I'll try and find a way to upload it somewhere else (I know many have problems with Deviantart, it's SO slow.)
Edit: Ok, try this.
http://koshiatar.altervista.org/_alt..._KoShiatar.jpg
The girl looks good, but the background and the floor looks kinda ghetto. And I don't like her shoes, for some reason. *_* But it's a good picture. Oh, and you should try using Photobucket to upload stuff, it's the best.
That's really good, I couldn't CG that good.
Her shoes gave me a hard time, so there's probably something wrong about them. As for the background, yeah, it's cheap. I just wanted to add something not to make her float into whiteness like I usually do. I wish I had a graphic tablet..... é__č
I wouldn't take my criticism too seriously, I have absolutely no idea about anything to do with art. :} I was just giving my thoughts, thats all.
Pretty good . . . I always like pictures of women with short skirts :p :p :p
You should find a way to fix that leg though.
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1..._KoShiatar.jpg
It looks like it's broken.
something about her looks man-ish. the dudette looks like a dude in other words. It's not to bad though.
Peace out and
EE
I love her eyes :)
I found this today while rammaging a book. It's an old pic of a green cat. What do you think about it?
That's awesome!
I want a cat like that...
*waits for Leeza*
Why Leeza?
On a scale of 1-10, it gets an 8. It gets 10 points for being a good drawing, but, because I really hate cats, -2 points. It would have lost 7 if it was a drawing of a cat person, so consider yourself lucky.
I really hate you.Quote:

I think that cat is totally awesome. *saves* However, this forum is for your own artwork. Not something that you happened to find while rummaging a book.
If I'm mistaken, and this is actually your artwork that you have forgotten about at some point and found again while rummaging through a book, then you may PM me and I wil reconsider reopening this thread.
That is a really awesome drawing. :cat:
EDIT: *reopens*
Do you have any more cat drawings? :cat:
Well, I have this one - it's an oil painting - another oil painting that I sold so I cannot get a camera on it right now, and a pair of others that aren't as good, but I'll scan them anyway if you want me to.
http://www.deviantart.com/view/15296182/
+2 points for being a normal-ish cat.Quote:

Thank you. I'll try get another one scanned, but it isn't nearly as good as these two.
Those are really cool! I love the way you used coloured pencils on the first one. Really nice.
You draw cats pretty darn well. I like how the 'mane' of hair on the oil painting gives it a flowing impression, purrdy.
Chaos
That green cat's alright I give it a 6 because It's like a.. aww I can't explain it It's just a little over a normal drawing.
>>> I like the paws..
This is the other one...it isn't a very good scan but I had little time...
>>> Great work with color pencils.
I like the cat`s head because its more detailed..
Before I clicked on it, it seemed to be more of a squirrel because of the bushy tail, but it's definitely a cat. It looks great. :)
This is it for now..if I find any other thing I'll let you know... ^__^
Two of my most recent sketches. One is Nico, an OC of mine, and the other is Vula, the drow sorceress I roleplay in Dungeons and Dragons.
Please tell me what you think.
i love the way you got the profile n normal view to go together so well for the drow lady. i always have problems with that. i especially like the poses! <3 <3 like, the arms in your OC, you did that quite well...err... in my opinion... and the shading in the upper arm of your drow sorceress...
I think the overall poses of them are very good and nicely shaped, i like the way that you actually paid attention to the arms (rather unlike myself :p).
A faerie of water.
Seems like I can't make good art lately, this is from some time ago and I just finished it. Enjoy and tell me what you think about it.
That's amazing! I love the wings, face, and hair. :)
Those wings are amazing!
I made this one for a frind of mine who asked me for a tattoo design. But I wonder how he will be able to make a tattoo out of this...
Anyway, what do you think?
Hmm, sorry babe... can't see your drawing anywhere ^^'
I'll bet that, I had forgotten to attach it to the thread.. ^__^'
its not bad but im not worthy of an opinion since i hate fairies
Thats awesome!
your an amazing artist :excited:
pretty good stuff, shouldn't be terribly hard to alter into tattoo worthy work.
^^ THERE IT IS!
Yay!
Verry neat wings you've got there. They most've taken forever!
I'd like to see that picture in black an white - if you'll try to make it into a tatoo later ^_^
I love her wings! It's a fantastic drawing, good job :)
I suppose it's gonna be a tattoo in color. Anyway, I still haven't been able to show it to that friend of mine, so I might decide to re-draw it or alter it depending on what he asks me.
just don't try too hard to make it tattoo friendly yourself, let the tat artist do that as they probably will anyway.
>>> You use just color pencils for your drawings right?
Your skills with them are great..
Wow that is pretty amazing. You really do have a great talent with coloured pencils.
One thing I will say is that the way you have shaded the upper thighs makes them look bulgey and fat. I can't stop myself noticing it and it spoils the overall effect of the picture. That said, the level of detail you've included is astounding, just hope it will transfer to tatoo form.
Could you post a picture of your friends tatoo when/if he gets it done?
Chaos
Thank you. This one's colored pencils and gouache.Quote:

Rydia, once again. I have a fascination with this character. I'm not really satisfied with it though. This piece has been photoshopped much more heavily than usual. I duplicated the bottom layer with Multiply mode to have more intense colors, added a lot of shadowing, made corrections with the Liquify filter, and abused Vivid Light mode brushes. But I still see mistakes in the line art and shadowing.
Please let me know what you think so I can improve.
I think it's great ^_^
She's got a real nice expression - and i adore the lightning effects. ^_^ You've managed to make it look like pure watercolour, and not stomped on in photoshop like alot of highlited/corrected pictures have an tendency to ^^'
Plus the dragon heads angle is sweet ^_~ it takes alot of exprience to pull that off.
What inspired you to do this drawing? and what other medias, than photoshop, did you use?
That's beautiful. :)
I used watercolors and colored pencils. Then I scanned it and Photoshopped it. ^__^
As for inspiration, well, not much else besides playing Final Fantasy IV and Amano artwork, which I adore.
Ah, I see... ^_^
Well, the watercolour part sure shows. It's super nice.
Man I was about to say, no way you did all that in photoshop xD
First thing that I notice is how her chin looks waaay maculine. You could do with making the shadow beneath the stars less around and more of a straighter curve. Her shoulder also looks dislocated xD
the colors are amazing though:)
Way better than anything I could hope to do in the near future! :)
As for some constructive criticism, her legs and pelvic area are really bugging me. Try working on those things in the future.
Closing statement: :D
It's beautiful. I think the dragon is flawless but I agree with Xaven about there being something really awkward with Rydia's hips/thighs/waist area.
Kinda off topic, but would you please tell me what you think about my new sig? I didn't think I needed to open a new topic just for that.
I actually like your last sig better, but this one is nice too. Clean and simple.
I agree.Quote:

But neither the less - it's a really nice sig. Did you draw the fairy? It's kind of your style ^^'
Yeah, the fairy's mine. ^__^
She's beautiful! LOVE tha wings! ^___^
Second in the series of the tattoo faeries. My friend chose the colors , so this one is blond and not red-haired as usual. I tried to draw wings that would be less realistic, but softer in shape and color than last time.
>>> OMG!, dont tell me you did that transparency effect with just colors pencils..
That's amazing! The skirt and hair and wings are stunning.
Actually, that effect is a very thin layer of white gouache over the already colored body. Then I let it dry and used colored pencils over it.Quote:

>>> I see I see, you used gouache, well thought.. :D
I have tried to do that effect with just color pencils and is super hard to do, personally I have never been able to make it perfectly..
It's beautiful. I love the wings so much. But her corset/skirt is very well drawn as well.
Aww, cute! I like it! :kaoplain:
This really is amazing. I love her facial expression.
Very nice:)
If I were to mention anything, it would be her very blocky feet:o
Yet another Rydia. This time I tried to practice my manga style, which was very rusty. Please leave comments and suggestions, also about a possibile background and coloring!
That's great, and so neat. :)
Very nice :)
Me likey :D
Oh, Rydia, you're so fine! You're so fine you blow my mind! Hey, Rydia!
I love how fine the lines are and your artwork is! She looks like you pulled her out of a coloring book, sorta! :kaoplain:
>>> Looks great.:)
A friend of mine said it looks like an American artist merely trying to imitate manga. He was rather brutal in his judgement. Can you people give me opinions, thoughts and reasons? I liked the drawing, but now I'm really not so sure anymore.
Also, any example of possibly "good" imitation?
Wow that is really nice!! :)
I think its awesome looking. As far as manga goes, Just slap on the manga eyes and I wouldnt know any better.
I like it but the left leg looks kind of wierd... it comes straight down and then forward in a messed up fashion. The style is well done though.
I wouldn't try to imitate the style, just run with your own. This peice looks great, and it does have elements of both manga and western. The eyes are toned down from the usual manga size, and the character looks a little more in repose and whimsical instead of constantly animated (which is something I'm not terribly fond of in alot of manga). The best response I've found to friends like this, unless he was giving a thorough critique, is to just say "that's nice" and move on. Usually those who want to be the harshest critics are the ones who can't do what they are so critical about.
>>> Well your friend has a point there but that doesnt mean the draw is bad.
Anyways, Japanese all the time are emulating americans and no one complaints about that..:D
It actually reminded me a lot of the artwork from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, which is to say, if anything, it looks authentic.
That's amazing
*Look's down the picture*
Whoa
I think it looks very nice. It actually makes me think of a mix between manga and Disney, in a very good way.
Its the eyes and the wide lips. Eyes aren't big, lips aren't small. But that just keeps it from looking manga. That does NOT mean it keeps it from looking awesome, 'cause that picture is just love. I was just answering your question.
AHHHHHHHH! That's the greatest Rydia evar!!
Awesome :)
Thank you for your comments and support. <3 I'm trying to give a coloring to this piece but no good results with digital so far. I SO MUCH want a tablet. :'(
This is pretty weird...no, bizarre :P especially since this friend of mine used to be a JoJo fan.Quote:

*adds to Rydia picture collection*
Here she is, colored in her full glory! I made a 1280x1024 wallpaper but if you like it and want different resolutions, please drop a line in the thread. I know the file is very heavy but I like the way it came out (which is very far from saying that it has no faluts) and I wanted to keep the quality as good as possbile.
Please leave a lot of comments. As usual constructive criticism will be most appreciated! A hug to everyone!
WOW! Awsomeness!
This has been on my DA account for some time, but since it's Final Fantasy-related, and it's been made during my hiatus, I figured it wouldn't hurt to post it here. So here she is: Yuffie!!! http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3...ykoshiawj9.jpg
This was made as a fanart for Enkida and her webcomic Growth, which is an AU FF 7 doujinshi following Yuffie, Vincent and Nanaki 3 years after Meteor. Check it out! It's cool!
Anyway, comments?
Crazy legs. Er, questionable fashion sense.
Otherwise, it's wonderful. The anatomy above the stockings is very good, and the coloring is adept throughout, as usual.
It's fabbylicious. The colours are very vivid, it's very much a Yuffie piece.
I agree with Kishi fully on this one.
i dont get the eyes (i mean there not really asian) but other than that i see damn fine work
I love art, so I had to welcome myself to this place by 1st posting in art ! Im working on becoming an art teacher.
The name is helena....or helen .
Oh how splendid ! She looks so carefree and comfortable with herself. Awe to be young again. It is a bit sexy in that way but also in retrospect that she has a manly jaw and her teeth are clenched in a tight restricting smile, it is a tuff smile, not big or large but restricted, controlled and displayed with pride, ego .
Her eyes ,a perfect color ,for they appear direct and sharp , meaningful .The inner color is dark but the outer is more sensitive and filled in a larger space of symmetry ,and colored more brightly. This gives the sense of a woman's sight wrapped around an inner warrior, the color choice is brilliant.
You go from a dark color to a grayish blue to white, it provides such a sense of the above.
The choice of pink and purple on the furthest outward extending objects, is charming as well , the breast and boots for they are the most challenging and life like objects, they must be always a bit more round than the flatter rounder objects following behind. Your choice of purple and pink evades us in a manner that she is coming forth as all girl but is reversed as a manly warrior.
The coloring shading is darn fine .
Now for the negative
The left arm is a bit too short in my opinion,
The right leg seems to be broken near the bottom of its positioning
To be honest with you , both legs seem to be a little off.
If she were standing straight, her arms would not reach down the correct distance when extended to the side of her body.
The back ground is beautiful
Looking towards seeing more work, I hope you find my insights helpful :)
Onto more art !
Nice to meet you all  (I love that smile already !)
The left arm looks just a bit short, but other than that it's pretty marvelous. Good job.
Her left arm was supposed to be in perspective, but I didn't pull it with the shading. é_č
As for her legs, I always knew they were off. After retrying to draw them, like, 15727 times I just gave it up. Anatomy WTF!
Thanks for the comments!!!
Sexy!!!
Yeah, all I have to say is her left arm and her left leg, but an awesome job anyway! :D
Celes the way I imagined her to be during her days in the Empire.
I had to redraw her hands and part of her sword in Photoshop, and her face too, and still I'm not completely satisfied. I started it more than one year and a half ago, so you can see it's been around for quite a long while. The pic can be considered as unfinished, in that I'd like to give it a background, but I don't really know what. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/3541/celes01wg8.th.jpg
I'm not a fan of the "transparent hair" thing, and I'm not sure her right (our left) arm is positioned correctly, considering where the shoulder is. Other than that, it's a decent picture.
As for a background, if it's supposed to represent her career in the Empire, I think Vector would be suitable.
Yep, as I said I tried to redraw her arm, but it still came wrong. I like the colorin tough, I was doodling in Painter and I think it's not too bad in the end considering I was very careless when I begun.
Really great picture. I love her eyes, and the whole head in general. You've captured great emotion in her face. As for her left arm, it does not look correct, but as this is deemed unfinished all can be worked on. All in all, great stuff. The quality of the line & colour is really impressive.
Good to see you back posting your art. :monster:
Gotta love the ass
Nice, the eye thing is kinda weird though 0.o
Awesome. Loving the face and hair. The eyes are great. Nice choice of which character to draw, Celes is great :D
I don't like the fact that you can see her eye over the top of the hair. I'd remove that eye, or move the hair. Other than that I think it's wonderful! :jess:
That's really good. I like it.
Hawt ^_^
I think the hair is a bit stiff though, actually, at the bottom.
1) Boko, no need to cross out that line. Cause we all know that was our first thought anyway.
2) I quite like the transparent hair thing.
3) I like how you made Celes Left handed.
4) The backround should be her burning Miranda.
For some reason when I think of Celes as a General I CAN'T picture her in the yellow and Purple clothes, more so the personalized rendition of her sprite clothes because of her shoulder armor and potential chance to actually survive since you know, Metal Armor > Cloth Armor.
But anyways! It's beautiful, I love the face~
zomai o.o great work! 'cept...same stuff you've already heard.
Hot damn! That is amazing! I'd prefer not to see the eye over the hair, but it still looks incredible.
Absolutely great line work and use of colour, and really nice hair detail. Oh, and I love her butt -- mmmmm, yes. :D
Her butt is the only thing that completely satisfies me in the pic and that I wouldn't change at all. XD
Well, if nothing else then be reasured that you can, by unanimous consent among the posters, draw a nice ass.
Edit: I just noticed the Earing to. That earing rocks. If I were a girl, I would totally wear that.
She's wearing an earring similar to that in Amano art. Actually, when I drew this I wanted my own version of this image.
http://www.eyesonff.com/ff6/images/celes03.jpg
(Gods, is this image low-quality. I can give better images scanned directly from the artbooks if the admins want me to.)
You know me, I just love to doodle everywhere, and university books were no exception.
So being the former (????) rabid Sailormoon fangirl I am, back in summer of 2001 while at the beach I drew this White Sailor on my Japanese literature book, and being rather satisfied with it I decided to ink it with a ballpoint pen (all I had handy at the time).
She had all of a backstory about her, but I don't remember most of it, anyway since Sailorstars it didn't fit in the continuity anymore so meh... Anyway, I found it again quite recently and I decided to upload it to my Deviantart account. And a girl comes and asks me, "Can I color it?" and I say, "Sure! I'll make you a better scan."
Now I've rescanned it, cleaned it up, fixed sketchy lines and completed her shoes (the page was too small for me to draw all of them, lol...)
There you go! Tell me what you think! (I know, her head's too big...)
http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2...ataroq9.th.jpg
She's too old to be a Sailor Senshi! :(
At least, she looks so. Even Galaxia looked younger.
Other than that, nice work. ;) I like the design. Except that the skirt could be a tiny bit longer... But that's just me.
:save: Selena
omg the boots! The hair the tiny shirt and skirt! Awsome *drools* The hair and boots are the best! She looks sexy and has a 'femme fatal' look :jokey:
Very nice job :D
Heh, she was supposed to look older than other senshi -even older than Sailor Pluto, possibly.
And yes, I tried to give her the "femme fatale" look, because I wanted a style a bit like "Sailor Moon meets Utatane". If you don't know who Utatane is, I suggest that you don't go looking randomly... he mostly draws hentai. I don't read hentaě, but I did read Seraphic Feather and Lithis. Plots were confused and not too good, but oh the drawings he's capable of. (Warning: Even those two manga have strong sexual undertones and random violence. Don't go looking for them if you can't handle it.)
I enjoy this drawing in both quality and content.
Thanks. Maybe I should color it?
I like your anatomy and your understanding of folds and curls, the hair and clothing looks excellent. I would like to see you shade something and maybe experiment with some color.
Ooookaaaay. It'll take time though.
Yeah, colour would do this one a world of good. Much curvier than your other drawing and I like this one all the more for that reason. The only problems I have are...
1. I still don't like the whole "seeing the eyes over the hair" thing, especially when evertyhing else is very anatomically correct. I can understand eyes-over-hair in anime style drawings because, well, they're very simple and don't give a crap about detail. Quite frankly, anime drawings for the most part are very sub-par, but things (such as eyes over hair) allow artists to show emotion better. With drawings as detailed as this, though, you should be able to do without such things and instead focus on giving the character emotion through more realistic methods.
2. The colouring will undoubtedly fix this if you manage it, but the bottom line of the lips is barely visible on my high resolution CRT monitor, and because of that her mouth looks really weird, sort of like this: ^
But yeah, I like this picture a lot. Her hair is awesome.
Well BoB, at the time I drew it (2001) it was supposed to be manga style... I'm glad I drifted away from it with time, but eyes over hair were always there. :P Perhaps I could Photoshop it out of it...
as for her lower lip, I'll see what I can do. The coloring should fix it up. Speaking of which, any suggestion on a color scheme? She was supposed to be completely dressed in white, but I'm afraid white won't make a great picture.
I see her as the kind of girl to have ginger hair, although I don't know why. For her costume, though... not sure. If I were you, I'd work on the things you know first, so do the skin etc. Once you've got that done, the rest might come to you a little better. Sort of like dressing yourself - people know what they look good in because they know what their skin tone, hair colour etc. is.
Maybe someone can give better advice than me. =x
White would still make this picture look good. (Which by the way looks great just the way it is.) All you would really have to do is color the skin, the hair, and give it a little more shadowing wise.
I Maybe be wrong but I always saw this as a solid Nobuo Uematsu piece with strong ties to Celes from FF6 .
Either way I agree with the eye through the hair, to a degree. Hair is a thin filament, hair can be a seen through rather than a complete obstruction. Maybe lighten the lines of the eyes or something.
That looks so clean and elegant. Great job!
http://fc06.deviantart.com/fs26/f/20..._KoShiatar.png
Basically not true, but I drew this during a meeting I didn't much like. XD
Yes, it's a self portrait! :D
You have a funky dress sense. Smooth colours! :monster:
Awwwwwwwwwwww so sweet! :kaolove: Adorable
That's so freakin cute! Do you accept commissions?
For something like that, which is pretty simple and quick, yes. I'd also say yes for anything else, but you'd probably be stuck waiting for months and months. :P
I find this funny, she's so cute too. ^__^
It's very cute :) Nice job.

Talking about super deformed self-portraits, I thought to add this doodle. I should be getting more sleep.

Some Yuffie and Nanaki from Enkida's comic, Growth.
nice rich colors :] watercolors, clever CGing?
CG from head to toe. First time I do a piece so complicated in just CG.
Stunning as always <3
Background is perfect, much kudos to you. Love the shiny on the pink parts of Yuffie's outfit.
Thanks. How's colors on your monitors, people? I painted it on my 19" then I realized on the 17" it looked like poo.
Yuffie's outfit is ridiculous, but that's out of your hands. Everything else is absolutely gorgeous.
I actually like that outfit. Anyway, that's the way she dresses up in the comic, so why change it?
I love the contrast between the muted colors in the background and the vibrancy of the front. Very eye-catching!
>>> I agree, the colors are great..
As always it looks very good. You're really talented.
Thank you.
It look good. well done! I especially like Yuffie, she looks awesome in pink. ^_^
I'm so very proud!!!!

I listed this under Photography, which is not entirely false. We have no prefix for sculpture!
It was the first time sculpting in all of my life (at least with serious intentions and a good guidance). It even resembles somewhat the model, more than I was shooting for!
That's fantastic wish I was that good Kosher. I loved scultping! I remember having to sculpt houses, it was so much fun. <3
wow nice job :]
verry cool!! is that clay? that's going to be soo heavy when its finished XD

A quich character portrait study. Hand drawn and colored in Photoshop.
That's pretty nice, who's it supposed to be?
A random character whose appearance I've been trying to decide for some time.
That is very good. I like it alot the detail is good!
thats beautiful!
Thank you. I'm a detail freak. Little by little I'd like to give my works a professional quality but I'm afraid I'm still far from it.
>>> The hair and the eyes are the best, the skin need more work. maybe adding more shadows or something could make it better.
