(SPOILER)Should Have Died
Yes, because it adds another emotion to the storyline, it finalizes the whole, "new generation" theme, and he is replaced by a cool character.
Krile joins the team afterwards, so yeah.
Yes, but only because the strength and courage of his sacrifice is the most awesome aspect of the entire narrative.
Yes because of what it does for the story.
Ditto.
No. Cara/Krile's sprites were ugly.
No, because Krile is just a lame wannabe.
Yes. It prepared Square fans for death of characters. Otherwise we might have more raving fanboys trying to revive that other one that died.
And way to make his sacrifice look pointless otherwise. He gets down to 0hp and still keeps going. If he didn't die, then it would have ruined everything everywhere forever. ;)
I thought II had a few characters die, and IV had people dying every time you turned around... granted some came back.....
Yes, but they never stayed in the party for this long and the player didn't have the time to get attached to them. Scott, Josef, Minwu and Ricard were all just temporary members. Tellah stayed for a little longer, but he still didn't have as much significance as Galuf. Remember that Galuf was one of only four characters. The smaller the main party, the more you are attached to and the better you know all of the members...
Galuf will always be alive in my heart.
I'm kinda torn...
Yes, because the game's a jerk and won't let you use more than four characters at once.
No, because I don't really like Krile and Galuf was pretty cool and tough for an old man.
I'm gonna go with No. Screw game rules.
Yes. Old people die. It happens.
Depends on how you feel about two party members with mage-style stats instead of one.
People here know what I think of magic users as a whole :p
While I do agree that Krile's sprite is horribly ugly, Galuf's death was integral to the story.
As far as im concerned Galuf never did die, he just realised that he was so much cooler than the losers he was traveling around with and faked his death so he could move to Amsterdam.
The only reason I'm opposed to Galuf dying is that he was the only playable character I got attached to. Faris was alright too, but Galuf was more interesting.
But, yeah, he had to die. Too bad Krile was the consequence.
>>> All the old heroes die at some point of the game, so yeah Galuf should not be the exception..
Yes, because sacrifice is an amazing plot device.
