Has anyone ever had trouble beating Sephiroth in kingdom hearts 1? and tried fighting him multiple times? well stop right now because all you get for beating him is absolutely nothing. I had a gameshark that took me to lv 255 and with max hp and stuff and he was still way too hard to beat, but once i beat hm on my 20th try, all I got was a waste of my life since you get nothing.
anyone ever beat this guy without cheats?
Lots of people have. He's how I leveled from ~55 onward. People have beaten him without getting hit, even.
Theres a sort of satisfaction achieved when you finally kick his ass after having yours handed to you so often. Also theres a nifty load of exp.

I almost beat him at level 60, failed a few times, got angry, and leveled to 80 to pwn him.
You get some stuff in KH: Final Mix. A new Keyblade and the first version of the Cloud/Sephy fight.
Personally I find him hard only from the games faulty camera and targeting system. I hate when I would lock onto him and he would move in such a way where the camera was facing me instead of him.... He only beats me with cheap shots. He's a abit of a joke in KH2 though...
yea, in kingdom hearts 2 you can pwn him most of the time, especially if you're a high level. I beat him around 70 something
You struggled to beat him when you was lvl 255, mate, thats terrible. When I first tried to beat him at lvl 62 I always got close to beating him with like 1 and a bit health bars, but gave up until I was stronger. Its not that his that hard though, once you are locked on its pretty easy to dodge attacks and he near always teleports right behind you. Its just difficult to swing the camera around and lock on before he starts mencing the flesh on your back.
i felt he was much harder towards the start of the fight
that attack where he would reduce your hp to 1 was what got me most of the time
I actually found him slightly harder in KH2 and therefore more fun. Pity you can't fight him more than once though (well, you can if you saved right before fighting him, but that's true for any boss.)
I felt Sephiroth was more difficult in KH2 simply on the basis that his moves are less predictable. In the original, you know exactly what he's going to do and exactly when he's going to do it. That's how people manage to do it without ever getting hit.
Forgive me for laughing at the codes thing, but codes make me RAAAAGE.
Anyway, yes he was slightly more difficult in KH1 than KH2, though it has alot to do with the fact that your in a smaller space and KH1 Sora has far less mobility options than his 15 year old omg-1-year-up-gives-me-Jedi-Master-Skills self, which is why you'll find Sephiroth harder.
I didn't have much trouble beating him, I think I bet him with his level in the 60's as my best. KH1 Sephy was badass.
I didn't find either difficult, beating them in the mid-70s, but what was hardest for me about KH2 Sephy was actually finishing him off with a combo. I had basically drained his HP by using combos and finishing them, but it took me over five minutes when he had no HP left to actually finish the combo for God knows what reason. Sounds to me like you were using abilities that remove "Finishing blows" which is why it took so long to beat him. Its one of the few annoying things about the combat system but I prefer it over KH1's dreadful camera...Quote:

In KH2 I nearly had him on level 55. I got him right down to zero but he wasn't officially beat, you know? You have to keep hitting him a bit? I didn't use any extra abilities and used the Decisive Pumpkin as it is my favourite keyblade (better than ultima weapon imo) That battle made me angry. An angry girl with a Playstation controller can be an ugly sight, I tell you.

The Phantom was torture. Not only was the KH1 camera bad, flying was a very slight hinderance too, plus his bloody homing missles... the Doom countdown and the Orb which only took a certain magic (Or when its White a physical Attack) made him argubly harder. :cry:

KH1 Sephiroth took me to the cleaners many times, till I finally beat him around level 70-something. As for KH2... I haven't bothered completing the game itself yet - that final fight got frustrating and apparently it's wise to learn a bunch of Drive abilities first, which I never bothered with while actually playing through the game.
So I took on KH2 Sephiroth at level 50-ish, and lasted less than 10 seconds. I wasn't expecting to win anyway, but it was still some pretty swift carnage.
What kind of abilities and tactics do you recommend for that fight? I'm currently wasting time by Drive-grinding to get more abilities, but I'd rather do that as little as is necessary to achieve a comfortable victory, either in the final battle or against Sephiroth.
Aerial Dodge and High Jump (Valor and Master Forms, respectively). Most of your fight will be fought in the midair, simply because he has quite a few attacks that strike a horizontal area. The only way to avoid them consistently is through Guard or dodging up. Also, it's the only way to get high enough and quickly enough to reach Sephiroth while he's preparing a DHA (Sin Harvest). Second Chance and Once More are absolutely required here, assuming you get hit.Quote:

If you're mad skilled with your timing, you can spam Trinity as well, without having to worry about your defenses.
For the final boss, the battle is largely fought in midair as well, but there's many more Reaction Commands to get through. Still, it's a good idea to take advantage of Berserk Charge and wail away when you can. There will be very large portions of the fight where instead of hitting X, you'll be hitting the Triangle, instead. Guard is your friend, especially for the stationary lasers. However, unlike the Sephiroth fight, no Form abilities are absolutely necessary, just Guard (assuming you know how to use it), and a cobbling of whatever abilities you find to be the most useful to you.
I don't recommend relying on Berserk Charge to deal most of your damage, though. This is mostly because the clone likes to get in your way a lot, and knock you out of an attack, or even cause you to hit the wrong boss. This wastes time and effort. And your MP, especially. However, consider Trinity Limit and Session spam, as well. These are good ways to get rid of your MP for Berserk.
For the Riku portion, spam Aura. That's about it.
i liked to do things the hard way in KH 1. I also got very lucky. I managed(after tons of tries and after learning timing) i was able to to beat him on hard mode at level 47 or so. Guard is helpful.

It's not that it's a bad idea. It's just that you'll rarely use it (it's a personal joke, too, don't worry about it). This could very well have been the only battle where I used it. Mechanically speaking, Aerial Recovery is more useful because it raises your vertical distance and takes up less time.Quote:

As far as Guard is useful in KHII, it's got a nerf since KHI. The major reason is exactly what you said plagued you: it's too slow. Using Guard is largely a matter of timing, and the time spent focusing on when to use it to get the whole enemy attack is better used getting out of the way, not that it lasts nearly as long as it did in the first game, either. Even then, it only works on the ground, and Sephiroth's battle is mostly in the air (actually, same idea applies for Xemnas, too).

The good thing about Guard is that it gives invincibility frames even after Sora has already finished his "blocking" animation with the Keyblade, except when used against a deflect-able projectile (the ones that get sent back to the enemy). Because of this, you can actually Guard multiple hits in a combo with just one Guard, even for a half-second after Sora is out of his blacking animation.
Just remember that Guard is the best ability in the game.
It is also slow and cumbersome, requires a proficiency in timing that is largely unhelpful at any other point in the game, and that singularly "best" abilities can be outdone by some quick thinking and a combination of other abilities.
I think I killed Sephiroth when I was 55 in KH1 and level 52 when I was playing KH2. He's a lot more difficult in comparison to the other bosses in those two games, but he really isn't that hard. People that are used to games like Ninja Gaiden will easily recognizethat stupid try-hardSephiroth's poorly-prepared attack patterns and be able to deal with him.
