I love the first pic in Pulse with Cocoon overlooking the world like a small moon. The fields look like the area around the Garif village in FFXII.
My favorite is the third, with Snow overlooking the Icy landscape from what I presume is a wrecked ship. (Reminds me of the crashed ship on Lemuris in the latest Star Ocean actually. :p)
Those look really good (although, they better by now, right?). I'm just going along with the trend and saying the second is my favorite.

How close is Cocoon to pulse, exactly? Why aren't there any clouds in front of Cocoon in that picture? It makes it look as though Cocoon is closer than the clouds, which would mean it is very close, and, thus, way too small...
The moon thing looks odd, somehow...like really out of place x.x
Everything else is super neat-o looking!
Dammit, I need to stop looking at these. They make me excited for the game.
I do hope that it's a return to the world map, as one of the comments on that page said.
Cocoon is IN the clouds. There's probably none covering it because of the good weather lol. Its at the start of this trailer -

I'm having a Final Fantasy III (Japanese) flashback.
Look's pretty good, from what I can tell, it looks like it kinda has FFX's field perspective mixed with a bit of FFXII's (only with random battles rather than real time).

Now this is the FFXIII I have been looking for. I wish Square would release some footage of these types of enviorments rather than the flashy action set pieces we have been shown so far.

Can't help but think the girl in the 2nd pic is from the same sprites a runnning yuna would consist of in ffx-2..or even princess ashe. Flailing arms..
The fields look lushly detailed and are very pleasing to the eye..A game that will finally urge me to buy a PS3 I'm sure..

Also, to The Space Pope, I think the PS3 is a slightly better bet for obsessed fans, as Versus XIII is PS3 exclusive, as far as I know.
The colours are so vibrant, at least the game is guaranteed to be a piece of eye candy. That lush forest is SO amazing, and I thought the Salika Wood in FFXII were amazing. The ice in Snow's lil screen shot reminds of Macalania in FFX. Now I'm getting really curious about the soundtracks that will accompany these places...
They are some really pretty shots. I especially like the 3rd.
That Snow chap, does anyone else think he bears more than a slight resemblance to siefer? Probably the coat.

They look awesome! My fav is the third, the ice area which looks like a ship with Ice crystals looks awesome.
Odd that only one person is featured in those shots. You would think 3. Hrm. I don't know the battle system well.
I do love the nostalgic feel of a world map. ah those were the days.
P.S: Too Sarah's post, he does actually, now that you say it. He even as that Seifer like stride, he has blonde hair... yepers I see a resemblence, perhaps a 35 odd Seifer?
I dont think there will be an actual world map like in the old games with the strange scale, I think it will be more like FFXII.

These screenshots have told me more about the game than any trailer has. Awesome.
Versus XIII is the one that will, supposedly, have a world map like the FF's FF9 and before.

Look at the top set of pics, though they are small you can see in one a character standing on some snowy plain with some rocky mounds and possibly a small mini-map in the top right corner, and to the right of that, what looks to be a small town or something with a mountain in the background. Definitely screams world map to me.
I'm still not really into the main character being more manly than 90% of the previous main characters, but I have to admit those screenshots look hot.
