As for mythbusters... they are one of the few things on TV that I watch. However, a number of things have bugged me in the past. But nothing is perfect.
It was better when Adam and Jamie were doing everything. I don't like Grant or Tori. Kari is tolerable only because she's kind of attractive.
Kari is so hot.
It's because Adam and Jamie are busy horrifying people with that rule 34 image on the internet. :(

Educational? Meh, kinda. Their experiments are rarely actually scientific, as their sampling methods are way too simple. It's still a great show though.
Lately I prefer Good Eats.
It's not really an educational show as Shlup pointed out. It's more like an experimental show on busting myths. Besides, it's one of the many shows I enjoy watching on the Discovery Channel. Another show I love watching is Cash Cab, but that's for another thread.
I like mythbusters, and I would say that it is actually pretty educational for what they're supposed to educate people about, which is if something is actually possible or not. Their testing methods aren't always very accurate, but if they manage to actually do a "myth", they do prove that something is definitely possible. If they don't, it usually shows to the world that a myth is unlikely to be real, but who knows?!

I've watched the odd episode of Mythbusters and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I don't have Sky at home and so haven't really had a chance to watch much more of it, but I'd probably do so if I had the opportunity to. In respect of whether their methods are that scientific or not, I hadn't really paid much attention to that really, but I suppose it's a valid point. I agree with Mirage though, in that regardless it does show whether something is possible or not, regardless of how realistic it is.
I've only seen it a couple of times, and I thought it was okay.
It's a great show, based right here in the Bay Area!
I think the hosts are great and I love their job. The two teams work well together. Some of the things they test are really interesting and the results sometimes surprising. My favorite was when the elephants were actually afraid of mice. That blew my mind that it was actually true.
Like Shlup said, it's not exactly scientific and they do have simple sampling, but they are testing some silly things here and it doesn't take a lot of science to realize a bullet that goes through a guy's nuts and into a woman's stomach isn't going to get her pregnant.
Yeah, you shouldn't take much of what they do too seriously, but it's still entertaining.Quote:
