Fall Classic Screen Name Tournament: Two-for-one: Drama + Winner.

Hi. It seems to be that time again! Over the past year, this tournament has been wonderfully hosted by the great Ouch! but alas, it returns back to under my helm as I host the 20th Screen Name Tournament, or the Fall Classic Screen Name Tournament. I have gathered 128 names (not including past winning screen names featured in the Unofficial Screen Name Hall of Fame) to duke it off until one final name remains to be named into the Hall of Fame.

During the spring of this year, the winning screen name turned out to be none other than... what was it? Oh yes, it was 41-Inches-Wide! She managed to win against the likes of scrumpleberry, which was also a superb name. How very exciting it was, and we hope to see a similar finals for this Fall Classic's Finals.

Now, for those unfamiliar and looking forward to their first ever screen name tournament here is what you should expect to see. As I have earlier said, there will be 128 screen names, all divided into eight brackets of sixteen names each. Your duty is to select a screen name out of each paired match-up. The name with the most votes will advance to the next round and we start over until the final round. There will be seven rounds total, and each will have two days for voting, so that means this tournament will end within two weeks.

Now for some voting rules.

1. Don't post your votes.
2. PM your votes to Agent Proto.
3. Vote for one name from each match-up. You should have eight names chosen for each bracket this round.
4. If you wish to not vote for a match-up, please leave a blank.
5. Please title your PMs accordingly! (Optional.)
6. If you wish to change any votes, please title your PM "Vote Change" and indicate which votes you wish to change. Don't just send a revote including vote changes.

Silly BoB. :p You don't really know if your name may not win. It may or it may not. 'sides, Red Pill will take your name's place if it does advance, so be patience. There's still the rest of the day before I announce the results and get onto the next round!

I think it's only right that he's in there, although I wouldn't want him to win purely because he got in through an 'alternative' route. I am continuously surprised by the group's effort to have a lack of taste! There is still meager hope here and I wish for the best name to win!

Having said that, I Took the Red Pill is still mildly better than Moon Rabbits and Agent Proto, one of which is due for an absolute battering after TheAbominatrix missed out on her chance of reaching the final.

It's all about the vote. I don't claim to understand why most would vote my name over another, but the name did receive more votes than the names it faced, even if it wasn't by a huge amount like some of the others had. If the tournament received more voters during the later rounds, perhaps we'll have a different result.

I think it's obvious popularity clouds this tournament that better names are many times overlooked in favor of a friend or what have you. Shame, The Shoeless Hobo should have won this IMO.

gotta be honest, not entirely sure why "The Shoeless Hobo" is supposed to be the greatest username in the history of EoFF or anything, it's kind of medicore imho. And that is what it comes down to really, my opinion, and all of our opinions. Everyone is so happy to jump on the "waah waah my favourite name didn't go through, it must be a popularity contest boohoo" bandwagon, toughen up ****'s, my favourite name wasn't even in the competition to start with until someone sacrificed themselves for it and now it's made it to the finals. So there's more than one person that enjoys that name. People have different opinions, it's clearly not all down to being a popularity contest otherwise Paul would win every year and Proto would be out in the first round (:aimkiss: Geoff), deal with it or GAGF, just stop whinging

I don't know, you know. Psychotic is a better name than TheAbominatrix so it was clearly popularity hax on her part to beat me in Round 1!

It's a competition, despite how much anyone whines the votes are the votes. If more people have a problem with it than the name was voted for then well, god dammit they should have voted for their faved name.

Go ahead and preach your piece. But don't think for an instant that in a competition that the finalists or the winner will be accepted by all. That's the whole reason there are votes, for a majority.

Some of the name I liked were out at the first round. I think both these names are really good, and either has a good chance of winning.

I missed the drama bombs; how upsetting! Never am I oft pleased by the group's choice of king, but that is the nature of team co-operation; a good compromise should leave everyone bitter! Anyways, names beat up names and names move on and if we matched up names differently maybe some different names would have made it and we would have different finalists, but hey, this is a tournament! Contestants get eliminated and sometimes the pairings are not ideal for some, but we shall have a champion!

People complain and whine about things all the time when they don't get what they wanted. I call it being a spoilt brat really if you're so used to getting your own way that you can't accept that it doesn't always go the way you wanted it to then you need to 1) grow up, 2) get a good taste of what life is really like and 3) learn to accept the fact that life is full of crap and sometimes the crap lands on you. If everyone was acting as spoilt as this in the real world then the world simply wouldn't work at all. I'm with Dan on this; quit your whining you've had a chance to vote and it didn't go your way, learn to face facts if you voted for someone/something and the majority says your vote option sucked then well it aint going to happen is it? Before announcing the winner, let's take a quick look at our two finalists.

I Took the Red Pill
Red Pill would have never made it had DK never made his complaint that his screen name had been overlooked, thus making Loony BoB have Red Pill replace him after his decisive victory over UnbreakableWill 11 to 8. Since then, he has taken on an impressive streak, starting with his victory over rubah, then taking out the last tournament's runner-up, scrumpleberry. Following scrumpleberry was Noctiluca, smittenkitten, and The Shoeless Hobo all the way to his first appearance to the Finals.

Agent Proto
Agent Proto's second appearance to the Finals was rather unlikely and unexpected. He sneaked his way through very close victories over some of his opponents. However, in the first round, he easily crushed Mirage 17 to 1. The second round, he tied with Flying Mullet, only to win through a tie-breaker. From there, it was smooth sailing until the Elite Eight, beating Bunny and Melissaur. However, he won two close match-ups over The Unknown Guru and Moon Rabbits. both by just one vote to get into the Finals.

So, out of the two remaining screen names, who have won it all?
