This generation makes no difference between swearing and normal speech anyway, it's just another part of the language, where as the past generation has such a tabboo on it.
this generation is no different than the last when it comes to swearing.
I do feel we are being way too overprotective of kids today, but there are some things that are inappropriate for kids. Try working at a daycare with an 8 year old signing Love Game, "...I wanna take a ride on your disco stick!" The problem is they don't even know what they're saying.
Now some things are censored that shouldn't be, while some things that aren't censored should be. But what it boils down to in my mind, is that why are parents listening to that music with their kids anyways. I'll probably listen to classic rock or something when my (future) kids are that age. Today's pop music, rap, hip hop is not appropriate for kids, regardless of censoring.
