I loved Shadow Hearts: Covenant. It's probably my favorite game of the series. I've never had such a dysfunctional party of heroes at my disposal before this game. :p The game really has a great balance of drama and humor.

I loved this game. I liked the first one, but this puts it to shame. It's too bad it didn't explode with more popularity. I enjoyed the third enough, but it didn't find a balance between drama and humor properly like Covenant. Hell, I liked the villain more than some of my party members and she's a smurfing mute. The characters were a little too much, and, let's face it, Johnny ain't no Yuri, toots. But I did still enjoy it. And this thread isn't about that, so why am I talking about it, eh?
That accessory that makes your ring invisible but doubles your damage was hot :bou::bou::bou::bou:. If you could master it, beast to the max. Oh, and the music was smurfing awesome.

So, whats everyone's favorite morph? Mine is the God of Fire (cant remember the name) and Dark Seraphim
Dark Seraphim is just awesome. Even though Amon is a bit weaker in its first form, I still like to use it just because the design is awesome. :D
Neo Amon is alot better stats-wise, and cooler looking imo.
If you up your physical with that fire god, and use his crazy 32 hit attack it does considerable damage.
I did use Fides a lot but I mostly used that fusion for its Arc Rage ability. I tend to be conservative with MP, thus why I don't use the attack you mentioned. The Inferno ability takes 80 MP.

I think my favorite "badass" moment is the Amon scene, where Yuri beats the smurf out of an airship and Rasputin.

And I know its weird but I liked (SPOILER)Yuri with Karin even though Karin ended up being his mom.... uuugh. So not fair! ..then again, I didn't dislike Alice. What do you guys think?
I never knew Alice, having not played the last Shadow Hearts, so I dunno. She seemed quiet to me ;D
You should really get the first one. Covenant is a very direct sequel. You'll get a new appreciation as to how Yuri and Kato arrived at the point they did in Covenant.Quote:

I adored everything about this game - I think it's the game I've spent the most time playing, not sure though. I loved the music, the story and especially the characters - some of which were just completely insane, but you just had to love them anyway!
I have all three of the games in the series (Soon to get Koudelka for Christmas) but I've only completed the second thus far. I look forward to completing the other two sometime soon.
Oh and I guess my favorite piece of music from the game would have to be the music thats played on the menu screen right at the start - I just can't remember what its called and I'm too lazy to look for it on my ipod. :bigsmile:
Koudelka is... uhm. Well. I LOVE the story. The story and the cutscenes are really awesome and I'm a fan of the voice acting too!~ I didn't like the battle system so much. :< Buuuut, that's alright. I hope you keep us update on how you like it!
And yeah, I highly suggest playing the first Shadow Hearts. I think the second game picks up from the 'bad end' of the first game? I'm pretty sure that's how it worked.
The music is <3! too. I really loved the ranking system ... like how you'd get a grade for how well you're doing. Furthermore, I love the details about all the items and monsters!
The detail in this game is so amazing.
The 'gay macho-men' card thing made me ROFL when I first came across it.

I used to have Covenant and From the New World but I, stupidly, traded them away. Life's just not the same without them. :cry:

it took me years to find all three games in stores, yes i searched shelves for them, SH1, i found it two years ago, can you say impossable.
Kurando's fusion seamed very spiritual to me, where as yuri's seamed rather demonic.
I love how the games (1 and 2) prey off of ancient religious texts about the seven seriphim that fell from heaven, and the 8th, the fallen angel Asteroth.
Asteroth- sadness
Asmodeus- Lust
Amon- wrath.
and then the 3rd game took its fusion basis from indian spirits
Tatanka- the great buffalo (plains indians)
thunder bird- hunter of the whales (qualete indians)
la'serine and the final im not to sure on about there history.
the final boss in 1 simply amazed me (SPOILER)meta god, the blief that all religions exist. (thats mine btw =P)
I first started this series with Covenant and i love it so much that i collected all 4 of them, including Koudelka. But due to the lack of time, i only finish Shadow Heart 2 and 3, so i didn't have time to play Koudelka or the 1st Shadow Heart yet =.='
