FFIV Temporary Character Tournament Finals

When I first played this game, I got sad when I found out the non-permanent characters (so those other than Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Kain and Edge) didn't join up with you at the end. I especially wished Yang could replace Edge.

Needless to say I loved the extras in the GBA remake and the ability to switch your party. It was cool to build up these characters and get their ultimate equipment.

Vote for up to four non-permanent characters in the poll. The top vote receivers will advance to the next round of the mini-tournament. The results will be used in a future event so vote wisely!

Picked four, however Cid was my number one choice. His beard is just, that ace.

I just picked Edward, Yang & Cid.

I went with practicality over personality which is why I'm probably one of the few guys who didn't vote for Cid cause he was more useful as an NPC than when he was playable. The Twins were awesome though. :D

I expected to see Yang and Cid up there but I am surprised at the support Edward has received!

The DS version as well as the After Years have done a lot for the man. Not to mention the iconic "Spoony Bard" :cool:

I voted for the twins, Yang, and Cid.

And yes, Edward officially became a bad ass in After Years. He's a crafty little smurfer now, that he is. :p

"You Spoony Bard!" Golbez killed his daughter bent on revenge. Story death.

But he was old and ugly. And didn't squish when he died in battle.

Well one tie was broken only to result in another one. So we go into sudden death. The first person to choose between Palom and Edward will pick the winner.

Love the twins! And Edward. And Tellah. Cid always annoyed me a bit. As did Yang.

I was surprised to find so much Edward hate. I remember when I was a little tyke thinking how awesome Edward was for though being a non-fighter in a group of fighters, did all he could with his songs to help. That struck me as rather courageous. And his star-crossed lovers story captured my imagination. Of course, as an actual playable character, pretty useless. But I play these games for the story more than the gameplay.

And then in the After Years . . . he rocked!

Without his sister, Palom was unable to use his Twin attack and quickly fell to Yang's punches.

Palom was one of the strongest by far in the game, and twin attack sucked so why didnt everyone vote for him T_T

The familiar music started and Cid and Yang entered battle. Yang, feeling smug, decided he would fell Cid with one punch, so he spent turn after turn focusing his power. Cid could do nothing but pound him with his hammer, but Yang just laughed at this. "Pound away, I have so many HP you will never defeat me!" But Yang forgot his high HP is useless with his crappy defense, and all those blows did double damage. Before he could even get off a punch Cid had already defeated him.

As a reward for winning, Cid will receive a high seed in the upcoming FF Character Tournament.
