The other ciddies thing... speeches!

That's right, speeches. The nice little icing for the ciddies that you, the members contribute to make this happy fun time the best it can be. Post here to commit yourself to one or two and then when you are done PM them to Award Guy so he can post them during the revelations thread. Just a couple reminders, you can't write a speech for a category you are nominated for, and if you say you are writing a speech and fail to complete it, then Tavrobel will have to do it last minute like he always does and he has unofficial full permission to beat you up a bit for it. Also those nominated for best writer should do at least two speeches, because if they can't then they really are not very good writers. :colbert:

And to anyone going for one of the top three awards, don't cut any corners - make sure it's a worthy speech or AG might reject it or look for a second speech to go along with it. Those three always should have the longest speeches, I reckon. And try to avoid doing speeches for awards that you are a nominee for, too...

Let me just say this; put some effort into these speeches if you can! Don't just sign up for twenty of them and put down a few sentences for each. You might get rewarded for making one of the best speeches after the Ciddies, or so a little birdie told me. ;)

So far we have 7/50 speeches done, and voting closes in two days! 32 speeches are not yet claimed, so there is sure to be at least one you want to write. :p

Hey, I guess I was nominated for Funniest. I didn't think I was when I claimed it! Oh well, I suppose I'll do it anyway.

I already submitted the speech for MLT Be Banned.

Eight speeches received so far. Not even a fifth. :( Only roughly 36 hours until the Ciddies revelations begin, people! Try to get the MLT's done early so I can be sure that we have them sorted out at least. That way someone can come up with random speeches for the next 40 or so (well, the ones that I don't have any for) while I'm doing those ten. :p

I'm doing my speeches tonight.

Oh, and I'll also do Best Returning Member.

Under rated and cutest couple are almost done. Revising and adding last touches. Ill do MLT get together and Wait for a stop sign to say go.

Also if you want to take a random speech to do take one of the MLT speeches, that way Award guy wont have to delay those awards to wait for the speeches and the drawing out will be slightly less prominent and justifiable. :p

I wonder. If I were to delay the awards until the speeches were in, do you think they would come in much faster? ;-)

And yeah, I do usually get stuck with half of the speeches. Last time, I did 26 of them. That's more than half, by the way, and in case you did not notice, I do not slouch on my speeches. I made the decision this time around that I was going to do more speeches than my usual 2 or 3 because of the amount of speeches that are left for Tav to do. It's not like it takes a whole bunch of mental capacity or anything.

I'm not touching Best Member or Best Male. If they don't get in by deadline, that's the writer's damn fault. They shouldn't promise something that they can't produce, especially for the higher-end awards. If it only takes a few hours to write a proper speech, then it could just as easily be done earlier instead of later. No excuses, not for the last seven.

Edit: Also, I'll work on best Member, but I encourage some else to do so as well. I don't really know enough about everyone now adays to do them justice, so any speach I turn in for it should probably only be used as a last resort. Still, I'll make sure to put a legitimate amount of effort into it.

Also, in regards to the Members speech, looking at the members list, I can definately put together something passable, though if anyone wants, my weakest entries for the speach are going to by Rye, Ranzt, and Jesweee (Which is odd, cause I actually talk to her from time to time on MSN. :p), so to make sure everyone gets some good entries in this thing, if anyone could help by getting those three it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm almost done with Most Powerful. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Alright, I have every other person done. However, I find myself at a complete loss now for these ones.

Anything I write for them would truly be flimsy at best, as these guys are the ones who had a bit of a rise to noteriety after I started paying less attention here.

I know they've all done a lot, but my lack of knowledge prevent me from giving them any kind of decent entry into the speech, and they deserve way more then what I can give them. I'll go ahead and send what I have to AG, but we still need some kind of portion for those four people.

Different approaches are always welcome, of course. Just Most Powerful and Best Male yet to be received, looks like Most Powerful is being worked on. *checks on who is doing Best Male*
