So now I've established I live in a :bou::bou::bou::bou:e hole that will never change (literally right in the :bou::bou::bou::bou:ehole) I've decided I must move.

Everyone of every nationality (Except Israeli, Iraqi, Afgahni or Pakistani as your countries hold the record of actually being worse than here) put forth your argument for having a foul mouthed but charming Irishman move to your shores.

I will not lie & judge these people as 10 years ago I was, myself, out on the streets behaving like a retrobate. However I have nmow changed & if these people won't (I seen men as old as 50 out shooting) I must live somewhere that shares my world view. What is your world view Cooh? Glad you asked...person. My world view is that humanas are all a bunch of self serving self important wee dicks until they prove me otherwise but I'd like to live somewhere where tyhey don't act on it with petrol bombs, AK47s, SA 80s and Orange Sashes to just piss everyone off.

And to think, Belfast is the only place I've visited abroad that I'd actually live in. I love Belfast.

New York! Do it! I love (downstate) New York for the following reasons:

* Most convenient place. Most things are open nearly 24/7. This is my favorite part.
* You will almost always be within 10-15 minutes of a beach - fun in the summer, beautiful, lots of board walks. Bikini girls!
* So many different cultures.
* Amazing food. Bagel shops, tons of restaurants, and lots of cozy little diners. I was really sad when I was in the UK because they don't do little 24/7 diners that serve breakfast all day and night.
* Manhattan is always under an hour away, unless you live in the boondocks arse end of Long Island. For most people it's under a half hour away. Quick train ride.
* It smells like the ocean when it rains. This may be a con if you don't like that smell. Huxley says it smells like a dead mermaid's ladyparts, but I disagree.
* You can go celebrity hunting if you're into that sort of things. Hamptons and such. I know people who see Billy Joel around a lot.
* I really like the people here. I know everyone is going to laugh at the idea of polite New Yorkers, but I don't know any place with as friendly and polite people as New York.

The only con is that you pretty much need a car to live, it's one of the most expensive places on earth, and the weather is absolutely horrible, except in the fall. In the winter, it's hurricanes and freezing snow. In the summer is disgusting humid heat. In the spring it rains more than it does in England. Autumn in New York (lol) really is the best weather ever though.

Again, this only applies to downstate New York. I know nothing about upstate New York except that it's mostly forests and mountains and it's grinding up on Canada.

Well, Rye, as a resident of the Capital Region, I can tell you that it's not much different. The humid heat does come and go during the summer, the spring seems to have less rain, and the winter has flurries and occasional nor'easter blizzards. It is less expensive up here, however. Granted, considering I'm going to be staying at college in Long Island soon, I'll get to see how you live soon.

That sounds bad, but it's better than every other place I've been!

Memphis is about 30F (90F in the summer) in the winter at the worst, have fairly attractive southern lasses, great Irish pubs on Beale, fantastic music scene, relatively cheap to live in (for USA), it's relatively close to several major cities, and has nice people. :)

Where else in the world will you hear the word "gobshoite" used on a regular basis? :(

The US has so many entirely diverse places to choose from. California is full of pansies, though. If you want to live in a :bou::bou::bou::bou:ty area, move to anywhere bordered on four sides by a country or another state.

If you want to live somewhere awesome, move to a state with a connection to the ocean. Unless it has Carolina somewhere in the name, then it applies to the first rule of living in the US.

I live near and work in Beer City, USA.

Obviously you should move there.

Come to Spokane. The most aggressive thing we've seen recently was a pack of unsupervised angry mental patients running around causing mayhem at last years County Fair. It was pretty funny until one of them kicked over the Kettle Corn cauldron, then the real panicking began.

Do not go to Upstate or Western New York. You will assassinate our politicians. And get stranded in a blizzard without electricity. These two things will happen at different times, of course.

Don't come to Toledo, Ohio. The heat is pretty unbearable at times.

I'm sad that you didn't want to stay with me in Karachi.....

We would have gotten along!

Aside from Netherlands, Australia is the clear winner, but it's awesome because there's no people here, so I'm afraid I can't condone you moving here.

So you're moving to Spain, are you? Or Brazil?

Attractive women are luckily found all over the world, and alcohol in almost all parts of the world. Probably best avoid Arabian countries for the alcohol bit, though, just to be sure. So your key areas are football and weather. Well, if you want football of the higher standards, you're looking to Europe and South America. If you're looking for decent weather, you're looking at the Mediterranean, really. Spain and Italy have the highest standards of football there. If you're looking for an English speaking nation then you'll have to sacrifice either the quality of football you'll be able to watch of the quality of weather you expect to find. If anything, you could arguably consider moving to Cornwall, where the weather is pretty decent by English standards, so I'm told. The only girl I've known to live in Cornwall is Chaos (EoFF) who is of the attractive variety, likes to get drunk and you'll still be within travelling distance to good football matches, notably not too far from Manchester (not nearly as far as Spain is, anyway).

On the flipside, you could move to a buttload of places such as NZ, America or Aussie if you consider that you could become a pro footballer in any of those locations just by saying "I'm from Europe!".

In Sydney we have:

• More Irish than Ireland.
• Lots of sports.
• Very low-quality local beer.
• Sheep jokes about Kiwis.

What more could you want?

We have extremely bipolar weather. Especially in the spring and autumn, it's not uncommon to have a nice 75º and sunny day followed by a snowstorm.

In all sincerity, you should probably move to Canada or Eastern United States. Canada is known around the world for its very kind and tolerant people, and crime there is good.

If you want to go to the United States, you should probably go to New England or something. Boston has a very large Irish population if you want to fit in more as well as a great music scene, but places like Vermont have very little crime (plus it's absolutely beautiful). Plus you get away from some of the uberconervatives that populate the more southern states.

And Irishmen are adored in America. You will have no problem getting a girl. Many Americans have Irish ancestry and the Irish are very well-liked in America for the most part.

Irish people are adored anywhere, and so they should be.
