Just the thought of Kenneth Branagh directing this is so strange and intriguing that I have to see it.
Also, the movie has a pretty nice cast. Hopkins and Portman in particular.

This is what happens when Eddie Murphy and Rita Repulsa don't use condoms.
Looks kinda stupid to me.
Where exactly is the trailer? I can't see a link to it anywhere.
I believe the trailer was taken down and replaced with stills at the request/demand of the studio. Most of the trailers and videos shown at Comic-Con are offered as sort of a "bonus" to the people who actually go there and aren't released for wide consumption over the internet. There are a couple exceptions though.
The trailer is quite easy to find if you google it.
I did manage to see the trailer before it was taken down and it was awesome. Definitely looking forward to this movie even more now.

Anyone seen this yet?
Yeah I saw it & it's honestly one of the best super hero movies I've ever seen. The fact that the cast isn't saturated with A list hollywood names is a major plus I think too. Can't wait for Captain America & The Avengers Movie now
Watched it yesterday, it was pretty fun.
I saw it Saturday night. I thought it was pretty smurfing awesome, I love Thor. I squee'd like a smurfing girl at all the Norse mythology. And I still want to do bad things to Kat Dennings. :jokey:
It was a good movie, had some good storytelling and the effects were nice. I actually really like the look of Bifrost. Heimdall being black was kind of weird. o_O
is Hollywood still on this comic book hero crap?
I just saw it. I hate to admit it but I LOVED it.
I found the fact that (SPOILER)Samuel L. Jackson was in the movie for 50 seconds after the credits to be a bit bizarre.
^^^ I(SPOILER)So Nick Fury? I wish they hadn't changed Fury's old character design.
Ultimate Nick Fury is black. :|
Which is the one they'll use, 'cause he's styled after Jackson.
i never read the comics but the movie was pretty good for a marvel film (i was worried bc thusfar i've only enjoyed the iron man movies)
the interpretation of (SPOILER)his mortal form is a good twist - allowed for the movie's pacing. and its comedy is not overbearing. also a plus
(SPOILER)no helm though. oh well
I hate not having a car. It went from me not being able to see this on its release day to not seeing it until this Saturday.
Oh, I'm not arguing that using the Ultimate story line would need you to use Jackson. It is consistent.
I just want the old Nick Fury. :colbert:
I don't. :colbert:
Samuel L. Jackson is a badass mothersmurfer.
Smurf David Hasselhoff!
btw gaise
(SPOILER)The dude with a bow and arrow is Hawkeye
I was sitting there in the theater wondering 'who the hell is that guy? DO SOMETHING'
He was. Now he's just a dried up actor who's face is used for merchandising. I haven't seen him in anything in years that made me think, "Sweet, Samuel L. Jackson!"
He's used up, his aura as the badass actor is gone, and he doesn't have the same impact he used to. He was type cast too many times, and put into rolls where that type of character either didn't fit or made the movie lose part of it's charm just to fit him in. To me, that weakened him as an actor. Done and done.
That's just my opinion. :|
So how is everyone doing on this nice Thor'sday?
Pretty sure you meant to post that here.
Ack. That was mean sharkysharkdogg. Well I had finally managed to see this movie and it was better than I expected it to be. I say it was on par with the 1st Iron Man. I was thinking the Asgard bits were going to be a bit hum drum, but they were done well and the movie wasn't cheesy like I was afraid it might be. There was only one joke in it that I thought was corny, but other than that this move's made me pumped for Cap and Avengers.
This movie was great. Definitely on par with the first Iron Man. In the hands of a more narrow minded director, this could have just been your typical 'bad guy threatens the world/city and Thor comes in to save the day' along with a bunch of cheesy Norse stuff. But it wasn't that. The mythology was not glossed over or set aside in favor of some drawn out 'Earth in turmoil' plot. Instead it was the focus of the film, and handled really well. Asgard was beautiful. Odin, Loki, and Thor were portrayed superbly. The comedic relief of the thunder god on Earth was also very funny and did not seem forced. And it also played into the Iron Man and Avengers storylines without forcing the issue too much. Overall
:p Nuthin' but love, pumpkin! BTW, is Threads of Fate that great? I remember picking it up and looking at it when it was new, but I never tried it. Why'd you like it so much? I'm interested.
Glad everyone seems to like the movie. I might actually go see it. I really was planning to wait for the DVD, but so far everyone has positive opinions.
I liked it! The 3D space adventure was my fav though :] I was boldy going where other movie goers have gone before, into the final frontier. Almost seemed too short though.
