Let's say Squenix got really carried away and decided they were going to not only remake the whole series but remake them as different genres of game. What would you like to see out of the series as a different genre of gaming?

I want everything Future Esthar and Serapy mentioned to be in the game if they are not already in the game!
EDIT: genres? I didn't read this part. :(
Point and Click adventure games!
[use] [sword] on [Kefka]
I want FF1 with Dissidia gameplay and X-2 dress sphere T_T
I want FFII to be a RTS game with its stories of armies and rebellions.
I want FFV to a be a weird ass racing game where Bartz has to ride Boko to the next story point and each dungeon is a rhythm game or puzzle game featuring one of the job classes. The final battle will be a race against Ex-Death to the Crystals and the Void.
I want VIII o be a school dating sim hell I would love Dissidia to be a dating sim/high school simulator.
Joke answer: I want FFVII to be a text RPG.
Real answer: I would totally play a multiplayer co-op ARPG version of FFIV! Using the original Crystal Chronicles engine or something.
>>> Fighting games..:luca:
They should settle everything in X by playing Blitzball.
Well, I would like them to invent a new genre and remake FF like that... :P
I think FFIX would make a cool cinematic action/adventure game.
FF1 - Dungeon Hack and Slash
This game was mainly about killing things and exploring dungeons plain and simple.
FF3 - Class based Platformer
Because I had to work a platformer in somewhere, and this game had lots of 'theme' dungeons.
FF4 - RTS
Lots of big military battles in this one
FF5 - Puzzle based game
Combat based around solving puzzles with classes
FF6 - SRPG
Since you have such a big collection of characters, why not use them all in a strategy based game.
FF7 - Sandbox
Because GTA is so much cooler running around with a huge sword and sticking it to the ShinRa.
FF9 - Point and Click
Still lets you explore all the exiting locals while maintaining the charm of it's original incarnation.
FF10 - Oregon Trail
Make the pilgrimage to Zanarkand in old school style.
"Tidus has died of dysentery". :D
FF12 - Small squad based tactical game
Something like a medieval rainbow six.
FF13 - JRPG
....
Ha! I might have said game but this is more subtle and much funnier when I caught it. Well done sir. :thumb:
I'd agree with your idea of making FFVI an SRPG actually, but I'd say it would also work as an RTS. You've already got an evil empire and a rebel group. And of course half way through it would mysteriously turn into a Fallout clone.
I'd want them all remade with Dissidia's graphics and gameplay, but with an overworld instead of that silly board game, and towns and people you interact with.
Your wish granted with Agito XIII :D

I would want all FFs to be remade to be similar to the Tales series: anime-style graphics and realtime battles
^^ Oh good god no...

I love Pedro.
X-2 in the style of Onechanbara.
H-Games.
What are you looking at me like that for? :shobon:
A Japanese artist created them.
I think this is his blog: GRANADA LEVEL9
Everyone's already heard my vote. Final Fantasy Battlefront. (spin on Star Wars Battlefront)
It's not out of the realm of possibility Final Fantasy XV might be something vastly different from what we expect out of an RPG. It's obvious they need to do something to really spark the series.
Can you imagine an open world RPG sort of (but maybe not exactly) like an Elder Scrolls type game with a greater emphasis on character development, story, and plot? As well as a world that changes upon the decisions you make in the game? The option to create your lead character from scratch?
I can't really, either. We'll probably get another linear adventure with 8 spin-offs that have zero to do with each other (except that they'll all say "Final Fantasy XV" on the box) followed by a lack luster MMO.
Also, those "Disgaea"-type Final Fantasy VI drawings are fantabulous.
Obviously if you had an open world to explore there would be an "overworld."
And the guy (Or girl! Don't wanna be sexist here.) with the Sam icon is talking about a "setting", not a gameplay mechanic.
Give them the Dynasty Warriors treatment.
