Why is Ganon Evil?

So I just started playing Ocarina of Time again, because it's an incredible game. But it made me think this time, and ask myself this question.

Zelda is the rightful holder of the Triforce of Wisdom, Link is the rightful holder of the Triforce of Courage, and Ganon is the rightful holder of the Triforce of Power. But according to official sources, Ganon was evil from the beginning. So, why exactly is the holder of a third of the most powerful artifact of goodness... not good?

I'd like to hear other input on this, so I brought it here.

His hunger for power? Can't think of anything else.

One story Nintendo came up with is that whoever touched the Triforce gained the piece that best represented the wish they had in their heart, no matter if their wish was for good or evil. Ganon must have gained Power for his wish of power. -serious nod-

You'd think, though, that the Goddesses would have been smart enough to plan for the possibility of an evil person reaching the Triforce.

Link was duped.

The Goddesses and the Triforce are neutral. Remember in ALttP Ganon already has the power of the Triforce and used it to turn the sacred realm into the dark world. :p

Well, that was actually intended: The Goddesses want the good to outweigh the evil in some way, like Link and Zelda being good, but Ganon is evil. The only reason I can think for that to be is to prove the powers the Triforce actually holds.

If the Goddesses are neutral, why did they flood the adult Link timeline's Hyrule to stop Ganon?

ALttP takes place chronologically after OoT/MM, I think. Discussion on that here.

Well Nintendo isn't really known for having rich back stories to their characters and I believe the answer won't be here anytime soon if it hasn't been answered in Twilight P.

I honestly did not like MM very much. It's possibly my second to last least favorite Zelda game, ever.

I'm not including the CD-i games, for obvious reasons.

What, really?! It's clearly the more fleshed out and polished game of the two. And Fierce Deity Link is the most badass thing ever in any Zelda game.

MM was just an excuse of a Zelda game until the Gamecube came out. Then WW was released, and I don't mind that one, but I don't like it, either.

MM was awesome. Better storyline, better fighting. It was everything OoT was and polished to a fine shine. /smug

At the end of Wind Waker we're treated to a bit of Ganondorf's reasoning. He grew up and lived in the Gerudo Desert, which was very harsh and unforgiving, and longed for a green land like Hyrule. Being the self-styled king of the Gerudo, he decided to invade and take that land for himself and his people.

So I suppose the answer is greed. Why did England constantly claim France and Ireland as their own? And the Americas? And so on.

So lets be clear then, no double teaming is going to happen?

I'm really just back to state that I am more of a pedobear then NCG, and I thought Windwaker was quite enjoyable, except for the ship traveling which took way to damn long.

I read an article where someone played WW the whole way through (Main quest, no side quests at all) and timed it each time she began to travel by boat. Boat travel in WW actually took up only 15 minutes of gameplay time, and she beat it in 4-6 hours. I called "bull:bou::bou::bou::bou:", of course, but still.

It's not that it was freakishly long, its just that it amounts to an unnecessary waste of time. :p

Which is why I was so happy when I finally beat Cyclos. D:

It's like, "BISH, JUST TEACH ME HOW TO FLY ALREADY."

For example, I don't think the water temple OoT is anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Messing with water levels is just kind of tedious.
