The Movie Game - WINNAR IS YOU!
-
-
I... think I did badly xD But we'll see how I compare, I guess! I feel like I missed several that I've seen. And maybe put some bad guesses at others. :shobon:
-
-
So far no one has gotten #23. Not to my surprise. Only like four people have seen this film.
-
I went through and there were more "I dunno" then "I knows" :p
-
I know 7 of them. I could guess at about 3 more. Which might barely get me half of them. I'd fail
-
Wow, this is hard. I probably know about 3 of these movies and I've probably only seen like 6 of them.
-
Free hint: #25 is a popular 1980s film.
-
-
Because I'm feeling generous. Here's another hint.
Free Hint #23: The main female character of this film gets punched by Keanu Reeves. Right in the kisser.
I'm really shocked no one has gotten #18 yet. :o
-
damn it to hell, Julian. How did you get so many?
12/25.
-
-
-
Del's attempt encouraged me to participate! I will do it now
-
Whoops that was a typo. I meant 24/25.
-
6/25
i got a 6/25 which is bad
-
.. waiting for my score ^^ cant be anything good though :P
-
I only recognize one of them so I'm not going to bother :(
-

Because I smurfing rule. /smug
-
New goal: beat the pants off Julian.
-
If you want my pants off, you can just ask.
-
foa: I support this goal.
Julian: You're too easy.
-
It's just taking off my pants, I'm still wearing boxers.
-
^ that's the safe move. Whenever I'm sure if the woman wants my pants off or not, I figure it's better to err on the side of caution and just drop trouser.
I recognize about 10 of them. Not the greatest.
-
I think people realized the loophole in this game is to realize which ones you're getting right and which ones you got wrong, based on your score and the hints. :)
The deadline for final answers is tomorrow, Tuesday at 11:59 PM EST.
I will start revealing answers starting, but not in chronological order. In this order: most guessed correctly to the no one even guessed this one to the least guessed correctly to the everyone single person guessed for this one, but got it wrong. I'll be putting up clips of each film to the scene which the still comes from unless I just can't find that scene on YouTube then I'll just supplement it with a clip from a different scene, or something else. Keep in mind I will also be putting up all of your answers, which will be pretty fun to compare.
So yeah, keep those answers coming.
-
8/25 bitches
I'm pretty sure I only guessed 8 too.
-
Last free hint of the game, but it will only apply to people who haven't already guessed for this number.
Free Hint for #18: This film beat Food, Inc. and Good Hair in 2009 for Best Documentary Film.
EDIT: I'm trying t figure out of if you can see boobs in #10. I think that's just the picture though -- nothing see-through.
-
Postponing this since I got strep and had to go to bed early last night. The new deadline is next Monday at 8:00 PM EST. So you can still send in answers if you want. :shiny:
-
That totally is boobs in #10

You can see the top of her chest, but nothing more than a tube top or a swimsuit. I don't think it's inappropriate. I didn't even think twice about it, until Shiny brought up his/her concerns.
-
You guys obviously haven't seen that movie, nothing really gets shown. xD
-
I dunno... I will maintain there is breast showing through that clothing.
EVEN IF I'M WRONG
-
Hurry up and name me the winner already.

I have seen the movie actually. That's why I was saying it's not a big deal. It's one of my favorites. So HA! :smug:
-
-
Shazbat!!!! We want answers, woman!!! Shiny said she was sick. Does anyone know HOW sick? Should I send flowers to the next of kin?
-
Del Murder I accuse you of being a liar!
-
Sorry, I don't have time to respond to that. I'm too busy watching obscure movies.
-
17/25
I think that's how many I guessed too.
-
Sorry for the wait, guys! I became extremely busy within the past few days. Answers coming up! Who do you guys think won? ;)
Hint: It isn't Del Murder
-
From what I can see there's a tie.
 Sudden death round!?
-
-
I bet it was Dak! The smurfing Aussie bastard probably stole the answers.
-
-
I come back and now people have Assasin's Creed in their signatures. Teh heck? Anywayz, here are the results! 100 percent of people who played guessed #8 correctly, so it should be no surprise that #8 is
-
You blew it up! Damn you! God damn you all to Hell!
-
Next up, second most guessed. 90 percent of the people who played guessed #2 correctly. A little trivia for you since someone asked, the still where this scene comes from is towards the end when the Michael Cera lookalike goes to rescue the girl from Easy A and the little girl from Little Miss Sunshine from zombies. This movie is of course,
-
I'm not great at farewells, so uh... that'll do, pig.
-
80 percent of the people who played got this one right. Here's some trivia before the revelation. In this film, Jack Nicholson wanted to have a presidential theme playing all throughout the production so he could stay in character. He was the president in this film. Other stars of this film include former Bond, Pierce Brosnan, Pam "Afro" Grier, Danny DeVito, Jack Black, Martin Short, Sarah Jessica Parker aka Horse, Jack Black, and current Oscar nominees, Annette Being and Natalie Portman. #3 is
And finally, a YouTube clip of the actual scene the still is from. :)
-
Die, you alien :bou::bou::bou::bou:head!
-
70 percent of the people who played got #16 correct. Which is interesting because it's been on television frequently for the past two months now. It stars Gwyneth Paltrow who during most of the film, is in a fat suit. The movie is about the necessity of loving one's inner beauty instead of just the outer booty. This film is
-
-
You can't come back with a comeback after eight seconds. You got three seconds. Five, tops. It's called a quip, not a sloooowwwwp.
-
After giving a hint, 80 percent of the people were able to get #25, but that's still too low. I mean seriously, it's only one of the top ten most famous 80's films EVER. Next to The Breakfast Club and it's counterpart, Footlose. This movie is of course...
-
No one puts Eric in the corner!
-
You just put your pickle on everybody's plate, college boy, and leave the hard stuff to me.
... Wait a minute, wtf? :erm:
-
Changing things up a bit. Only half of you got this right. The ones who got it wrong will be kicking themselves in the face. The film stars Jodie Foster who is pictured in the still and Sir Anthony Hopkins as the notorious movie villain, Hannibal Lecter. Hello, Clarice.
-
It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.
Geez, is no one else interested in this?
-
A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
-
My cookies smell like grapes for some reason. Weird. Anyway, once again, only half of you got this one right. Let's see if you can tell what it is by this bit of trivia. During the post production of the film, the star, Edward Norton, went and re-cut the film unbeknown to the director who later cited that he wanted to have his name taken off the film because he no longer felt it was his. The movie features a horrifying and infamous scene where Norton's character curb stomps a black man. It's a favorited on YouTube by pretty much every member of the KKK. Lucky #7 is...
Mmm, Ed Norton in this movie is yummy.

Most of the people that participated are offline. :/
-
True, but who among us can pass up spamming movie quotes to add a little fluff?
-
60 percent of the people who played got this right. A more promising percentage than the other two. Many of you were able to recognize that it is Russell Brand in the still, but some of you ended up putting the more recent film, Get Him to the Greek. The film in #22 is actually Brand's first feature film and it was a smash hit. It also included one of the few male frontal nudity scenes towards the very beginning of the film. I'm sure you needed to know that. #22 is...
Sorry for the crap quality clip. All the others I could find pertaining to the still were edited graphically...
-
I have a question for you real quick. What did you think of my demo? Did you get it?
-
I was gonna listen to that, but then, um, I just carried on living my life.
-
70 percent of the people who played got this correct! Proves to me that you guys like watching serious films. Go figure! #9 got a lot of high praise and is directed by The Coen Brothers who are up for some awards for their western True Grit. Other Coen brothers movies you should watch are Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Fargo, and Burn After Reading. #9 is...
Longer version of the scene if you wanna watch. It's good ish!
-
Aw, hells bells. They even shot the dog!
-
What business is it of yours where I'm from, friendo?
-
-
A lower, 60 percent got #1 correctly. I'm not even going to give an introduction to this film. It's too badass, so it doesn't need one. I will admit it is a bit campy though and has one of the lamest sequels ever.
Warning: The clip contains profanity.
-
-
We do not ask for your poor, or your hungry.
-
We do not want your tired and sick.
-
It is your corrupt we claim.
-
It is your evil that will be sought by us.
-
With every breath we shall hunt them down.
-
Each day, we will spill their blood till it rains down from the skies.

Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal, these are principles which every man of every faith can embrace.

These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.
-
There are varying degrees of evil, we urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over, into true corruption, into our domain.

For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three. And on that day, you will reap it.

And we will send you to whatever god you wish.

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand.

That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

Spiritus Sancti.

:excited:
I gave a pretty embarrassing answer for this one, and then tore my hair when I looked again and realised my stupid mistake.
Edit: Geez you guys. GEEZ!
-
Et fili.
Edit: Balls, you killed it Ponty.
-
-
Most likely before you were born, #21 was a hit. It starts De Niro as a lonely Vietnam vet. The film contains one of the most famous movie lines in history. You talkin' to me? Well, I'm the only one here. It's been copied by many other films since.
Also contains profanity. It's a Scorsese film after all. xD
-
I had myself convinced that that wasn't De Niro because I didn't recognize the movie. TAXI DRIVER! Geez!
-
And it has a young Jodie Foster as a hooker.
-
It's down to the wire now. Some of you were able to recognize that #14 was animated by none other then Hayao Miyazaki who did my fav, My Neighbor Totoro and that creepy one, Spirited Away. #14 is Miyazaki's most recent film...
Tina Fey waits for no storms! 30 percent of you got this one right.
-
40 percent of you got #4 right. I got some interesting answers for this one. Rocky was a popular answer, but perhaps the weirdest answer was Super Punch Out the Movie. I mean mean what the hell. #4 is actually...
Cinderella Man
Crap clip is crap.
-
Alright, that's all for now, folks. I gots to go bed. /suspense I will put up the rest of the answers later. Including one no one guessed right and the Keanu Reeves one which I will say is not Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Sorry, Del. :p
-
-
-
Taxi Driver! how'd I not get that one......
That one Miyazaki flick looked like something Matsumoto would have worked on, but the only thing that kept coming to mind was Interstella 5555. I knew it was waaay off, but i couldn't think of anything else. Fail, fail, fail, fail.
-

:stare: Why must I wait?!
-
Why must I cry why must I cry why? Tell me whyyyy. Alright, now that we've got that out of the way. Let's continue. A mere 20 percent of you got #11 correct. It's a foreign film about a man who plays chess with Death/The Grim Reaper. Very obviously symbolic. It was made by a pretentious director named Ingmar Bergman who all the pseudo-serious film students want idolized. The film is one of many that Bergman shoots on a desolate, grim looking beach. #11 is...
Have fun trying to understand what they're saying if you're not Sara, Lev, or Pom Pom. Incidentally he totally looks like the Death from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.
-
Only 30 percent of the people who played got #10. It's may be one of Harrison Ford's lesser known films; which is not saying much since pretty much all of his film are well-known. The film stars the dude from The Hitcher, Rutger Hauer, as the villain cyborg thing. I don't won't to spoil the film, so I'll just give a little sneak peak. The film is...
-
"and where might I find this James L. Sebastian?...." Probably paraphrasing.
-
Ten more to go! This next film has a character voiced by the same voice actor of Auron from FF X. A fewof you guessed the 1985 title of #15, a few of you guessed the 2000 title, and the other percentage either didn't guess or were completely off mark. #15 is the anime movie...
You can tell it's the 2000 one because the animation is just so much better in quality. The whole movie seems to be up on YouTube, but I can't find a legit clip to show.
-
Here's another foreign film for you. Only one person got this correct after I gave a hint. This film is a British film about British Jihadists who put bombs on birds and then subsequently blow them to shreds. It's a comedy or something. I haven't actually seen it yet, but I'm really interested. :shiny: #17 is...
-
Despite giving a pretty huge hint to #18, only two people were able to get it. I got answers like Free Willy. Willy was a whale, guys. This is a dolphin and this film is a documentary about dolphins. Specifically Japanese people killing a crap load of dolphins and eating them. Sound familiar now? The film is...
Food, Inc. still seems more appealing.
-
Two people got #18 right. I guess you guys aren't in to movies with guys in drag. The title of the film is a tribute to the film, Breakfast at Tiffany's which stars Audrey Hephurn if you didn't know already. #18 is ...
Sorry only a trailer. Couldn't find the Kitten Bond clip.
-
To keep in line with the string of foreign films, #12 is a Mexican film about a threesome who take a road trip and become involved in a love affair in this erotic coming of age story of two young men and an older woman. It features a lot of graphic sexual content, but amongst that is a very interesting story. Or you know, just watch it for the sex I guess. #12 is...
Y Tu Mamá También
-
30 percent of you got this right. Brendan Fraiser is probably a pretty bad actor or at least he chooses really horrible roles to be in. I thought his worse point was when he was in a movie with Pauly Shore which for some reason I thought was a really good movie back when I was six. Although #5 is kind of a stupid movie, it stars a dude from Kids in the Hall and a psychotic animated monkey, so it has something going for it. And this film is...

You mean #13, but yay! I was one of two who got this :D I'm pretty sure I know who was the other one that got it, too.
I want to know which one of my guesses was the name of a song in the movie!
-
Yes, #13. #18 was The Cove. :o
Ponyo the Fish by the Sea is a song title in the film, Ponyo. I also am not accepting Vampire Hunter D, the 1985 film. Tricky tricked some of you.
-
Well, wtf. xD I'm gonna count that one as correct even if you don't!
-
Who won!? Why do you keep doing this to me? :crying2:
-
-
Aww man, that Brendan Fraiser one wasn't Encino Man?
Too many foreign films and documentaries. Those aren't movies!
After this is over I'm going to do my own movie screencap competition. Every entry will be from a movie that stars either Bruce Willis or Nicholas Cage, or is a sequel to some other movie (bonus points for Bruce Willis or Nic Cage sequels).
-
This next one only one person got right. #23 is a film about a psychic woman, played by Cate Blanchett. It's a horrible movie, but features one of my favorite scenes of all time! #23 is...
Good part starts at 1:00. Okay, so she doesn't actually get punched in this face, she gets punched in the stomach. Still a great wtf moment.
-
No one got the following films correct.
#20 is the French 1950s film -- which you've probably only seen if you go to art school, or you're French, or something equally pretentious.
#19 is an old film about a man played by the same dude who stars in Quentin Taratino's Reservoir Dogs. A gullible man gives a ride to a criminal on the run. It's a classic film noir starring Lawrence Tierney, who was actually part of the mob.
#24 is both a foreign film and a documentary about underground grafitti artists. :shiny:
-
OMG, the anticipation is killing meeeeee.
-
After further inspection, I've realized that NorthernChaosGod and foa are currently tied. FIGHT TO THE DEATH. The first to get #26 correctly wins! No hints, and no Google!
-
-
-
Just kidding, it's actually Guardian and foa who are tied. :radred: hee hee
Send answers to my PM plz.
EDIT: lol, foa, I just saw that. Posting a new one so Star Warts can have a chance. Fair is fair.
-
-
-
Are you ready for the most anti-climatic ending ever? And the winner is...
(SPOILER)FIRE_OF_AVALON
Congratulations! You may [strike]live another day[/strike] get a sexy colorful custom title. As for the biggest loser, let's all mock Del Murder's score of 4/25. Here are his answers:
1. Scarface 2: Tony's Revenge
2. Zombieland
3. Mars Attacks
4. Super Punch Out The Movie
5. The Mummy, because Brendan Fraiser has not been in any other movie worthy of this game
6. The Blair Witch Project
7. Fight Club
8. Planet of the Apes
9. This is actually the only one that looks familiar where I have no idea what it is
10. So I Married a Goth Chick from an 18th Century Period Piece
11. The Colbert Report
12. Weekend at Bernies 2
13. Tootsie
14. The My Little Pony Movie
15. Some random anime
16. I know this is not: King Kong, School of Rock, Tropic Thunder, and those are the only Jack Black movies I've seen (and are probably worth seeing). It might be that one where he's a ninja.
17. Borat
18. Free Willy 3: Free Flipper
19. Casablanca
20. Casablanca (figure it's in here somewhere)
21. Taxi Driver
22. Billy Madison, it's that scene where they had a party for when Billy passed the third grade
23. This isn't a movie, it's actually an old episode of Law & Order. I'm the only one who got it huh?
24. Donnie Darko or some other cult movie all the kids like but I never understood
25. Titanic

It is!

And then Artex is back and I cry tears of joy, and Bastian gets to ride the magnificent Falcor and I explode into an envious fit of rage.

Someone needs to give that bitch a name. For some reason.
-
I looked up the script and it said "Unintelligible". I swear on my life he said Moonchild! The smurf kind of name is that?
-
My favourite part of this game was the part where Del Murder's answers were revealed. We should do it again sometime :)
-
You should definitely do this again, Shiny. I promise I won't ruin the next one with a bunch of fluff quotes.

You know we will.
-
Moon Child! I should have included that horrible movie in this. I think I will do a ridiculously bad movie round, but around the time when I'm not busy with stuff so that I don't take FOR-EVVV-VER.
Thanks for playing, guys!
-
You should have included The Last Starfighter, or Escape From Burma, or SOMETHING I knew. Then I could have at least gotten more than the 9 or 10 I did. :(
I could have sworn it was Encino Man. DAMMIT!!! :p
-
I had fun despite not knowing like any of them. And next time I'll be around for the reveal to post like a madman.

-
I was skimming the 'answers' thread (the delly belly one) and then I saw 'scarface 2: tony's revenge'
Then I scrolled up to #1 and was like 'WAIT A MINUTE THIS ISN'T SCARFACE TWO. WAIT A MINUTE THERE WAS NEVER A SCARFACE 2 !!111'
Curse you Delly Belly.

"Cultured" isn't the first word that comes to mind about someone's Brendan Frasier crappy movie knowledge. Maybe cultures, but that's more in reference to the single-celled organisms that find his movies entertaining. :p ;)
