The guy who had the riddle going in the last xii riddles thread hasnt posted in there since last March, so lets make a new one.
Let's start with an extremely easy one:

One is close and yet its whereabouts unknown.

I'm guessing the furry fellow is montblanc who swore to kill the seer and yaizmat. He has a master who is.... unnamed and was killed by yaizmat... how close am I

If that is the master, then Carbo and Bianca could be the answer.

I have no idea what the answer is but I bet it's something relating to your overall play time.
Looking at this again, it's not as easy as I implied. "protege's revenge" is definitely the key
I don't know which characters in the game I would describe as protege to anyone. Reks was protege to Basch, I guess.
