I noticed pretty much straight away, I think. I didn't notice that I was getting rep for a while, but I check it every couple of months and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I pretend not to notice rep, because that's what all the cool people who get rep do.
The rep icon needs to be more noticeable because the amount of times people say 'if this were facebook I'd like that' is quite a lot.

Which style are you using? I think the girly styles have stars or seashells instead.
