Blue Mage can do anything any other job can do by stealing their powers. It's the Rogue of mages.
White mage. Since I'm a man of faith and quite versatile at that, but still a bit of a wuss :love:
Definitely Red or Blue, I couldn't stand going out there without a sword in hand.
Red Mage. I like balance, and let's face it, I'd look damn good in RM garb. It's always been one of my favorite (aside from Dark Knights) jobs in the Final Fantasy world.
Sylvie, Pike, we're the Red Mage Crew. I like balance. A little bit of everything.
I picked Red because, like Pike, I'm a jack. However I wouldn't mind being a Black or Time mage really. FIREBALLS IN MY HANDS or SLOW TIME KNIFE YOU IN THE BACK.

I would not interfere with the boy getting hit by the truck. See, this is why you Time Mages are going to get totally smurfed by karma. It's simply too easy to "manipulate time".

Time mage would be my second choice, but they don't have enough offensive spells. Meteor as a time spell is kind of silly.
Why no BLU love? We have offensive (damage of all types, even 100% guaranteed damage in 1000 Needles), defensive (Mighty Guard), curative (White Wind), and other surprises in our bag of tricks (let's see how good your spells hold up after you eat a few Magic Hammers). Plus we're good with swords (better than Red Mage).

It pays off in the end, when it takes little effort to KILL YOU.
I'd probably rock as a blu mage, after all my home country is just full of things what want you dead.
Blu is in many games the most versatile and powerful mage by far, but time magic just opens up for so many unique things. Blue magic can heal and damage, and do a few buffs and a few debuffs, but few of them are unique to blue mage. Time mages, on the other hand, can stop motherfreaking time, and teleport/warp.
I agree that it's silly to have meteor as a time magic spell though. Something that would be much more fitting would be demi/gravity/maelstrom and such. I'm not sure if these actually count as time magic in games where time mages are present though. They might do.
Anyway, i'm sure I could get by with not too many offensive spells, when I can cast stop+slow on them, and haste+quick on myself and beat people senseless with my staff while they can't defend themselves.
I don't know about you guys, but the best Blue Magic I can learn around here is probably Skunk Spray.
red mage, green mage, black mage, white mage, blue mage, time mage.
Red mage, they are the only one that gets a sword, and as the most athletic, they could be doing cartwheels and stuff while attacking.
also, vieras can be redmages.
Blue mages use swords as well.
but they have to learn there skills by being hit by them, and if you are traveling alone then you will never learn level 5 death.

Depends on the game. Lv5 Death is a really situational spell anyway. I'm sure most blue mages could do without it.
