So many people will say education but for REAL TANGIBLE THINGS I have to say plane ticket to the US which was $3000.
My car. It cost between $7000-$8000. This was many years ago. Probably going to get a new one in a couple of months.
Definitely education. Otherwise, my car, at about $5,000. It was my first car and I'm still using it, so I'd say it was a good investment.
Ignoring the obvious stuff like cars, wives, etc. it would be this as far as single objects go:

$1,100 for one snare drum? Yeah, I paid that. It was worth every penny.
A night alone with Jiro. I don't even want to tell you how much I paid for that.
Well, education has to count, and at this point it's definitely that for me. I've dropped about $3000 in tuition for any one semester.
My first wife.
She is now back living with her mother in the City of Phuket.
Education was about $36,000 after all the grants (and I got a lot of grants)
My car was... $8000? Still paying it off. Almost done though!
My computer was about $1000 all told for all the parts. Hopefully I get this new job I applied for so I can start saving up for that and make a new one because this sucker's about six years old.
I've also got a laptop which I paid about $1000 for back in the day when I actually had money. (I miss those days)
I dunno. What's the most expensive thing my parents bought?
/brokeandlazy
My computer was $3,000. I got externals put in it and a bunch of other stuff added to it including dual monitors.
I also have a Macbook Pro, but thinking of selling it soon and getting a cheaper and lighter laptop.
Even though I didn't buy it, I HAD a card, but my brother took it so now I'm just going about in my dad's GMC, which honestly I prefer better.
1. My flat, which involved a £76,000 mortgage for 68% ownership, or something like that. I forget the exact details.
2. Danielle's engagement ring - £1,600.
3. I'm not too sure on this one, but it might be the ticket from Auckland to London.
My computers were bought in pieces, so technically the single purchase isn't that much. Overall, though, I've spent thousands on them over the years, including £2,692 at OcUK's e-shop alone since 2007.
It's a long story but the gist of it is: Ron Jeremy grabbed my junk.
My car. $10,000 and I've got three more years to pay on it, but it's totally worth it. Aside from that, my first laptop was about $1,700 when everything was said and done.
The laptop I am currently using is more than enough for my needs and cost about $1,100. Got it with 18 months to may it off. Easily did way before the deadline month ago. Very smart, and easy purchase for me. I don't want to sound like too much of an spambot so I like hotdogs.
Nothing! I'm cheap! :D
i bought this laptop for 500 bux on a deal week
i worry that cumulatively my video game collection has cost me thousands of dollars over the years
i spent like $150 at goodwill once.
$28,000 for my vehicle, tens of thousands for school (like $63,000 now)...
beyond the real big things, my wife's camera (and the lenses to go with it) was $5000+ and her computer and monitor were about $3500.
The most expensive thing I've ever bought? ...I have to plead the fifth.
The second most expensive thing was my first car which I only paid like $2500. I guess I haven't bought a whole lot of expensive thing in my life yet. :p
My VITA.
yes the base system only cost $250, however, I really like modifying all the hardware I can get my hands on as I'm sure some of you remember with my psp that had a ps2 laser attachment and upgraded memory (sold it for $700). Most of the stuff I've done so far is pretty basic; double the batter, add handles like a ps3 controler, double the battery again (then I found out they made an attachment that came out recently that has a battery and handles) added
don't know why I didn't think about it before I wrote the last paragraph.
my car. lots and lots of repairs, and someone stole my hood ornament.
number 2 would actually be my ps3, what with my 70 odd games built onto it and then 20 more on discs.
I am a really terrible person when it comes to stopping myself from buying things.....
I'm working on it though.
I recently spent 300K on a villa in Costa Del Sol.
It might have been a bit of an extravagance as I could already access it and actually stole a few things when I was there last.
Plus, there's a creepy guy in the basement and he just refuses to leave...
And that's just a few hours after you accept money that was originally meant for Marlene's schoolin'? That's in bad taste, man.
When someone asked me in real life to borrow money I actually used "Marlene's Schoolin'" as an excuse to hold out. They never asked to borrow money again.
Did you call them spikey headed jackasses too?
