This is pretty good news. I will be looking forward to checking this out whenever I get that chance in the future when this starts showing.

So like, is this going to be a reboot sort of thing? Because that would be really really awesome. I LOVED Sailor Moon when I was a kid, but I watch it now and I'm like "omigawd this is every bad dub cliche."
Yes, a reboot that's supposedly going to follow the manga more closely. I'm hoping they're following Evangelion's example (though Eva is making movies while Sailor Moon is making a new series) and go for ultimate badassery. I love the new Eva movies.
I would be cool with either a brand new chapter or a reboot. A reboot makes more sense though, because as far as I'm aware, Naoko Takeuchi hasn't written any more Sailor Moon, and she's apparently giving this her blessing, which also makes a reboot more closely following the manga make sense, seeing as she didn't seem to like all the changes that were made to the anime.Quote:

I came into this thread again to specifically say smurf YEAH SAILOR COSMOS, but DMKA beat me to it. It would be great to get in-depth with all the Chaos stuff.
I'm really interested to see what they do. Like, it might be minor, but I wonder if they'll get new civilian outfits. Since the reboot will be made in a new century.
Also, maybe if they do another SuperS it won't be so smurfING AWFUL.
I'm excited about this because I feel like they can do so much with it. And if they do do a dub, hopefully they won't give Molly a smurfing Brooklyn accent.

I'm with Shlup on this one. Maybe a decent transformation sequence the first time the change and before big battles or something. But just for the Monster of the Day, that's not really necessary to have a full length animation every time. They really drag, and in the original series, it kind of messed up the pacing of the show in most situations.Quote:

There are things I do like about the English dub better than the original, mainly the soundtrack is just better but other than that and nostalgia that makes me love it, I do prefer the Japanese anime and manga more. I hope they keep Mamoru talking to his four Generals even after their debut. In fact, my favorite thing about the anime is that they fleshed out the villains more, I absolutely love Prince Endymion's Four Generals.

I'm REALLY excited for this. I have the English and Japanese versions of the complete anime in box set DVD's. I tried re-re-rewatching the series and just couldn't get into it. Hopefully this will get me back into it, and hopefully the new anime will be more directed to older audiences...hopefully. And now that the manga's being rereleased (and more importantly, this means I'll be able to find them at much cheaper prices), I can finally learn firsthand what's actually supposed to go down in Stars. :D
