Any movie with JCVD is the best movie of any period.

He is seriously the best actor of any time.

Oh there are many, but RoboCop is a favourite of mine. Also Blade Runner, but I wouldn't exactly call that a action movie. So, RoboCop it is.

Alien was really awesome. And so was Mortal Kombat, but that isn't 80's.

Not 80's either, but I just watched this 1995 movie last night called Final Equinox, I found the original "for screening purposes only" VHS a few days ago.

It was pretty terrible but fun/amusing to watch. There's this titty outer space theme that is only even sort of mentioned in the first 10 minutes where they show these mid 90's computer renderings of space ships and planets and tit, oh man it's the worst

I still need to see Big Trouble in Little China.

What is there not to love about Die Hard?

I remember when I was dating this girl when I was in high school, we went on a double date with my friend and his date to see "Live Free or Die Hard". My girlfriend at the time was chewing Big Red and it made her breath smell horrible, and all she wanted to do was make out and talk directly into my face.

My favourite has to be Aliens. It's not just a hugely enjoyable and memorable movie it also has a level of craftsmenship that was above other action movies at the time. It was nominated for 7 Academy awards and managed to win 2 which says a lot.

That's not to say there aren't other 80's action movies I love. There's Robocop, The Running Man, Mad Max 2 and of course The Terminator.

Also, I agree with Krissy; Die Hard is the best Christmas movie ever.

Alien was released in the USA on May 25th 1979... seems we were both off by a few years but I at least was certain on the decade :D
