Why do you get up in the morning?

I'm probably going to get a bunch of 'because of my alarm clock' answers (or different variations of that), but regardless:

Why do you get up in the morning? What keeps you going? What are you living for?

You can be as simple or as philosophical as possible. :p

For me, I'm sure a lot of it could be attributed to me just living for the sake of living, but the two main driving forces in my life are spending time with my very, very close friends, and the pipe dream that I could (after finishing my degree and making some money off of it) end up with a career that I want. :)

One of these things is not like the other

I get up 5/7 days of the week in order to be able to sleep in longer in the bed the other 2/7 days of the weeks, and so that I still have a bed.

On the 2/7 days, I get up because as comfortable as my bed is, I love to experience the life that is beyond work

because the chicken cant' fry itself, the meat and cheese can't slice itself, and the cookies and pastries can't bake themselves. Alternatively, I have a very handsome face to wake up to and kiss, as well as a growing person who kicks in rapid succession if i do not feed in a timely fashion!

Lately it's been to get to the squirt bottle to shut my cat up because he is being a bastard and won't continue to let me sleep.

aside from that, life is going really well lately and I live in lovely California, and who wouldn't want to get out of bed who lives here :love:

I know that someone in some way will depend on me that day. Except on Saturdays, I try my hardest to not do anything requiring effort.

Because the day I don't get up is the day the world beat me. And you know what? Screw the world.

So I can talk to Pike!

I don't get up in the morning. I get up in the afternoon. Waking up in the morning during the summer is a travesty and I hate when I have to get up as early as 8am.

Because there are so many wrongs to right and so little time.

when i'm me or whatever, i wake and just lie in bed, listen to music and fantasize until i can fall asleep again. sometimes i try to think but my brain isn't built well for that kind of thing, you know, and i start to frighten and confuse myself, to take myself seriously which is bad. like if a cat was retarded

I don't get up in the morning. Except to pee.

Why do I get up in the morning? Well:

To turn my internship into a proper paying job
Because 20% body fat is no where near low enough
To convince somebody close I deserve a second chance
Because I haven't found a way to chase my dreams from under my duvet yet!

I'm not dead yet so I should wake up in the morning because of that.

To go to work while doing other work.

I got really fat while I was at uni so I get up to stop feeling like a slob.

because if I don't I will eventually go to jail.

I now have a new reason to get up in the morning. As smurfing sad as it may be. It's this thing that I'm pretty sure is referred to by others as "love." Maybe you've heard of it. It's pretty damn great.

Hate. Hate gets me up in the morning. If I don't, the slines win.

Within the first 15 or 20 minutes of waking up, I usually actually feel depressed, hateful, and self-destructive. I think this applies to most people, but when my life is stressful, I tend to wake up thinking about suicide. And it's honest for 15 minutes, then I end up shifting into gear where I wonder why the hell I would consider such a thing. Does this happen to anyone else?

The first paragraph is a good way of describing the feeling I had when I woke up every morning in high school, suicidal thoughts included.
