Huxley completely loses his tit if he has more than like... two tabs open at once. Meanwhile I'll have 20 or 30 up. Truthfully I've gotten a lot better about it lately; I think Huxley has rubbed off on me a bit and now I try to keep my open tabs under ten. I probably average about six or seven these days.

Having multiple tabs open is a sign of moral flaccidity. I have one or two open, and sometimes a third if one of the other links to a news article or something!
I usually have three or four at a time. The only time I have a bunch is if I am loading a bunch of pictures from somewhere that doesn't have a slide show deal going on.
The only person that I have seen with dozens of tabs up is edczxcvbnm, but he doesn't do it too often, at least when I am hanging out with him. I jokingly give him grief for it, but it doesn't bug me.

I have a couple tabs open for my browsers. I will sometimes go up to ten at most, but then it appears to clutter my space so I remove a couple to get back to a more respectable number of tabs.
Three tabs at work, two for personal use.
I usually have about a dozen. I try to keep as few as possible, but I'm usually doing a lot of things at once and I have a bunch of news articles and forums open. I can't go too long without my knowledge fix.
I don't like to keep many up, unless I'm doing a search for something. When I'm here, I look at the recently updated topics and open each one in a separate tab so I don't have to keep hitting the back button.
two, maybe three. But usually just one. The internet has begun to bore me lately :p

I have a problem with eoff. When checking a section i just make new tabs on teh thread links then i read it and hit the index once done then move to the next tab before it loads. I just open every new thread and close them when I post. Easy peasy.

Tabs are great. You need some way to hide the dwarf porn.
I'm limited in my maximum tab capacity only by virtue of having a netbook. I cannot abide superfluous tabs, however. It annoys me more than any other stupid computer habit.
Yeah, like many of you I have the most tabs open when I'm here at Effoff checking new posts. I'll open all the ones I'm interested in and new tabs and close them as I go. Depending on how many new posts there are, that can add up to a lot of tabs.
It depends on what I'm doing. During "normal" browsing I'll have maybe 2-4 tabs open, but when I check places like EoFF I just open every thread in a new tab and close them as I finish.
Right now I have six tabs open, which is probably about average. I browse EoFF by opening every thread I want to read in its own tab.
I don't have too many open, usually 1 to 3. Facebook, and two others to pass the time while nothing is happening on FB. :P
It differs, but usually somewhere between 1 and 10. At work I tend to have two different browsers open with several tabs as well.
I average probably 30-40 at a time that I just leave open. It'll go up or down depending on if I've read what they contain and see fit to end their meager existence. I browse all forums in new tabs, and close them when I'm done typically. Same goes for news stories as I generally dislike the constant loading of using the back button. I also despise using bookmarks because I either have to open a bookmark menu and find the one I want or leave it open all of the time and I refuse to waste the screen space on it. Tabs are simply faster and easier.
However many I can fit before they start shrinking to fit the screen. That bugs me. But at work I use Opera and the tabs stack so I can have that many tabs squared! I wish other browsers had stacking tabs :(
When I'm reading up new posts in EoFF, I can have as many as 20 open. Same when I'm internet shopping.
Other times...maybe 3 or 4.
What is wrong with you neophytes! I've got one tab open for EoFF ever! Unless checking a link out. I have 6 tabs open total one of which really I could just fire thunderbird up for instead (gmail). Two will close once I watch the video link contained within the second tab or the tab with the video will be closed and the other re-purposed.
I'm in the middle? I usually have 3 or 4 open.
I go to /pol/ sometimes but I never actually read it. I go there just so I can make threads called things like "So when did you grow out of libertarianism, /pol/?" and then leave and play vidya. I usually don't even bother reading any responses. Easiest board to troll.Quote:

I just counted the number of tabs I have open and holy trout was I way off. At this moment, not counting the tab I opened for this thread which I will close once I finish this post, I have 160 tabs open.

To be fair, I leave tabs open forever without closing them even if I'm done and I usually scroll through the ones I'm not using so fast that I honestly had no idea it was so high. 160 tabs is surprisingly not as many as you'd think when you scroll through at high speed looking for the one you want. 43.75 Maxed out Browsers of Chrome, 68 firefox tabs. I have no idea how many that is total, but the war is on. I can name most of the tabs as well.
It really depends on what I'm doing with my browser at the time. The tabs I have open tend to be anywhere between 20 and 60 particularly if I'm doing university related stuff and have to check out various net pages and EBSCOhost links or if I'm looking for inspiration for tGA posts and other creative writing. :)
Amended: the statement I made earlier was because I accidentally opened all my youtube videos up at the same time due to a click and drag incedent. the firefox was for memebase.
It varies from day to day.. sometimes only 2 other times like 10-15.
