1. Jesters of the Moon
2. Theme of the Tantalus
3. The Place I'll Return to Someday
So many to choose from!
1. Towards That Gate
2. Decisive Action/ Search for the Princess
3. Mistaken Love
I'm surprised no one has mentioned
1) Something to Protect!!
2) Melodies of Life
3) Um... ur... haven't actually played this game. I got those two from Theatrhythm!
3) Vamo' Alla Flamenco
2) Jesters of the Moon
1) The Place I'll Return To Someday
1) Melodies of Life
2) You Are Not Alone
3)Really hard to decide here....
1. Dark Messenger
2. You're Not Alone
3. Terra
There are a large number of other great tracks that belong on this list, but if I have to narrow it down to three that sounds about right.
1. You Are Not Alone
2. The Place That I'll Return to Someday
3. Eiko's Theme
More than 3!

Final Fantasy IX - Beatrix & steiner battle theme - YouTube
The list of songs I adore in this game?....Oh, probably every one of them. Here's just a few of my top favorites.
Also, the name of the song doesn't come to mind, but I like that sad little song that plays right before Black Waltz 3, on the cargo ship...when Vivi watches all the black mages get blown away. Anyone know the name of that one?
I think it's Black Mage vs Black Mage, on the FFIX OST PLUS album

Only three? :< ... Because if I could, I would've put down the entire Piano Collections album. The arrangements on there are fun to play.
1. Melodies of Life... especially on the piano. Every time I practice, that always has at least one runthrough.
2. Rose of May / Loss of Me
3. A tie between the boss battle theme and the Black Mage village theme.
1. Assault of the Silver Dragons - seriously, no one mentioned this so far? By far the best theme in the game.
2. Kuja's Theme/Immoral Rhythm - I actually like this theme more than Kuja's battle theme, Dark Messenger.
3. Rose of May - Classic good shtuff.
Sword of doubt
Terra/Bran Bal (They're almost the same!)
Place of memory.
In no particular order, except the order I found them as I rapidly went through the soundtrack right now.
I would have listed that, but it is too short. Feels like a waste of a "favourite song slot"-
I agree, I wish it could have been around 2 minutes longer at least. When I heard it in the cut scene I thought maybe it was a partial clip of a full song, but apparently not. Still, I don't want to take anything away from the song because it is good despite how long it lasts.
You could have cheated like me and posted more than 3 songs :kakapo:
"Loss of Me" has randomly been stuck in my head for the last 5 days. I haven't played 9 in years. Beautiful.
This thread is killer, as IX has one of my favorite soundtracks...
In no particular order:
1. Loss of Me
2. You're Not Alone
3. The Place I'll Return to Someday
4. The Dark Messenger
5. Melodies of Life
IX's soundtrack has a blend of moving and powerful tracks mixed in with more ambient pieces.
Pandemonium, Bran Bal and Terra, Freya's Theme and its variants. Dali, the world map theme, Daguerreo.
I couldn't just prik three. :(
Also, all the others.
Only three? Yikes, that'll be hard. IX has far and away one of the best soundtracks both in the series and of any game I've played.
In no particular order, these are some that stick out to me the most.
*Freya's Theme
*Hunter's Chance
*The Darkness of Eternity
1. Terra
2. The Soulless Village of Bran Bal
3. Rose of May
Dark Messenger and Hunter's Chance are also very good tracks :greenie:
Rose of May and that song that was playing during the love letter scene with Beatrix and Steiner.
I can't pick just three. There are too many good choices.
