Curious to see which of the main Final Fantasy games people haven't played. This isn't played some and put it down but never even fired it up.
FFXIV is the only one I never bothered with but that's largely due to my experience with XI showed me that its just not a genre I can get into.
I haven't started II yet, though I have the ROM. It's only a matter of time. I haven't played XIII, for obvious reasons, and while I really want to play XIV, I am tragically unable. :(
What about 10-2 13-2?
If we start allowing numbered direct sequels, then questions regarding other spinoffs will appear as well and then there's no knowing where this will end, but my initial guess would be amphetamine and crack.

For simplicity's sake I stuck to the "main numbered" Final Fantasy games. That and it keeps everyone off of amphetamine and crack.
I'm quite a young grasshopper when it comes to the actual games; I've not played any of the Final Fantasies up to VI. I've played VII, X (And it's sequel), XII (And it's sequel) and XIII (And it's sequel).
I have seen VIII being played though, my older brother played it right through to the end, though I personally never played it. That junctioning system just seems strange. I would love to play IX though, it's apparently very good according to the other members of the board.
The only ones on this list I haven't played at all are XI through XIV, but I haven't finished I through III and VIII. I probably haven't played any of those for more than an hour each.
Only XIV but that will change someday. Suprised FFX is the only one we've all played so far!
Only II and XI for me. I haven't beaten all of the others, but I've at least played part of them.
XI. It would've been XIV, too, but I did try out a little bit of it at PAX 2010.
I would say these results are wholly un-shocking. As for me I have played all but the online entries, and I don't have any incentive to change that any time soon.
Technically I've played them all. But I don't remember much of FFIV (I know I got at least a four or five characters) and I don't remember FFIII at all (I'm guessing I didn't get very far). So I need to replay those two sometime.
I feel embarrassed to be here; I've not really played that many FF games compared to the rest of you guys!
I've not played XI, XIII and XIV. Partly because I'm behind the times, and partly because I've not been tempted by online gaming.
Never played I through IV. Played, not necessarily finished, the rest.
Haven't played XIV, but if A Realm Reborn is any good, I might give it a try.
I liked XI, though. XI is very, very underrated.
I haven't played the online games, though I own Final Fantasy XI. I would like to correct this one day if only to come back and edit my answer to "I've played them all." I'm so close! :(
I want to continue being able to say I've beaten them all. But... I don't think I'm ever going to play XIV. :(
XIV is the only I ain't played.
II, V, VII (seriously), XI, XII, XIV

Maybe it would have been a more interesting poll if I left out FFXI and FFXIV.
Including them doesn't really skew the results for the other entries.
There probably would have been more people that have played them all if XI and XIV are excluded.
Played or finished? That makes a big difference for me because sometimes I started them then got busy with school or another game.
I own one of the PC games but I don't think I'll ever get around to playing it especially if there is a monthly fee or I have to play with others. :/
This is never played. Never put the game in. Never fired it up. If you played or finished it then don't choose it. This is only for games you have never played.
All of them up until FFXIII. I was rather discouraged by FFXI and FFXII. :(

I didn't pick up XI until everyone had stopped playing and I haven't see XIV anywhere so I am not even sure if it is out or if it is in beta.

XI & XIV, I can understand, but I can't believe there are so many votes for II. III came out recently on what, the DS? I'll probably get that at some point. I need a PS3 or XBOX360 to play XIII.

I would argue that as a true fan it is my duty to not support endeavors such as FF14 in order to lead SE back on to the true Final Fantasy path.
Which true path? The path of angsty young people with swords?
I think it's disgraceful that they've started making large, beautiful worlds with a focus on exploration and discovery again. God damnit, SE!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that so many people have not played the first six. But I encourage you all to at least try them if you haven't yet. They're pretty easy to get your hands on (multiple releases, roms etc) and I think they are the best of the bunch :D
At the very least, everybody should play 4, 5 and 6. They're great fun.
Well 88% of people here have played FF4, 86% on FF5 and a whopping 93% on FF6. That's pretty good.
If it's not 100%, it's not worth considering! :tongue:
