Red Ryder Carbine-Action TwoHundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle (Christmas Card Swap!)

Hello, friends! It's that time of year, when we all are so desperate for a physical manifestation of recognition that we'll give our mailing addresses to strangers on the internet so we can get a Christmas card!

Or maybe that's just me. I really hope not, as that's going to make this a really sad Christmas card swap.

This year's deadline for participation is December 4th, at 1800 EST. That's a full 10 days from today for you to determine the risk level of being stalked by your fellow EoFFers, so no whining if you miss the cut-off. If you want to participate, you'll need to PM me with your contact information before the deadline.

Here are the rules from last year:

1) Don't Ralph Wiggum anybody! You send everybody a card or you don't participate. This isn't an event to creep on your EoFF crush under the guise of forum participation. If you want to send something to individuals I suggest you PM them yourselves. If cost is an issue, remember that anything counts as a card. Except anthrax. Jerks.

2) Which brings me to another great point. It's a crime to send threats or dangerous objects in the mail. If you harass someone or send dangerous stuff I have no problem giving your information over to them so they can complain about you. Don't be an ass. This is about being nice to each other. Spread JOY and GOOD CHEER, mothersmurfers. Also, don't send objects in standard envelopes, because they'll probably get removed or destroyed.

3) Don't spam up PM boxes with your addresses to people who post in the thread. All addresses go to foa, then I send them out. Unless, like I said before, you want to arrange individual swaps. In that case gtfo this thread, duh.

4) Delete the address list once your done. No need to have it all floating around out there. Also don't use it for your own nefarious purposes. Also understand you're putting trust into the people here by doing this. foa and EoFF aren't responsible if you pick up a crazy stalker. But I will totally call the cops for you if you do.

5) You don't have to use your real name or your actual physical address, but the address you give must be one at which you receive mail. We don't want to send your neighbors Christmas cards.

6) Have a lot of crazy good fun! Yay!

Also, I think I am hand-making each card. So, if you're doing this, PM or VM me what things you like best so I can make a card for you. Some people I have a good idea what to do, some people I don't. So!

It's not really the card itself that's a cost issue, stamp purchases in themselves are worth a bunch. Besides, I'm not exactly sure how my mum would respond if I asked her to buy stamps because I'm sending christmas cards to complete strangers! :|

I'd love to participate, but unfortunately, I can't. Sorry! I might do e-cards though. While I hate them because their of their tackiness, it will have to suffice. :(

Great, I'll be using HC's nude photo for the EoFF 2013 Firefighter Calendar.

I hand-made all of my cards last time and they were terrible and it took forever. I love you all but I will be writing a heart-felt, nicely worded message to you this year because I don't feel like spending hours shuffling through Michael's craft store for scrapbooking supplies.

I bought 10 cards, and some stamps. So I'm ready to write personal messages and what not for each one. I spent like... $50. :(

W-what kind of cards are you buying? Are they silkscreened, hand-printed cards? Persian silkscreened, virgin hand-printed cards?

I will be honest, I only thought the Persian part was funny, but felt the hand-printed needed something special too. Thank you for going all out for us, Agent Proto.

Putting these together takes a lot longer than I had planned. Spent two hours, and I'm only done with three so far! But, it doesn't matter. It's fun. :D

I don't think you guys know how expensive it is here in Denmark. I spent $11 on ONE card, and I didn't even choose the most expensive ones. The most expensive I saw was $35 bucks. :(

Well, I moved back home, but at my last place, I payed about 3000 Danish kr (which is about $500) on rent ALONE! A month! For one room, bathroom, and a shared kitchen!

You can probably find something similar like that here too, but I do have a habbit of grabbing whatever appeals to me the most. I should probably change my shopping techniques. I thought about buying these cute little Winnie the Pooh Christmas cards I saw, but they were $20 each. :(

Edit: Gawd! Just realised that I have yet to pay for stamps and shipping! So it'll probably amount to over $100 in the end. But it's for you guys, so I don't mind.

Guys, I want to make it really clear here, that because you didn't submit your info you can't participate in the official swap.

If some of you really want to exchange cards with one person you can definitely arrange that personally. Just don't spam up a bunch of people.

Had to rush about today to get all the cards ready in time so I apologise if their a bit rubbish. Now time to go brave a Post Office on a Saturday :S

Oh right I forgot to send my address in :(

I'm still not done with all of the cards! Checked with the post office to get a delivery estimate of all of the destinations, and all cards should take no more than max a week to arrive. I ship them out on Thursday.

I'm running a little slow on them too. I have thursday off so I'ma try to get them out then instead!

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to send any out anymore. I was hoping to have enough money to buy the cards and stamps tomorrow, but I don't think that will pan out. My girlfriend got a ticket last week, I've had a few more medical bills come in the mail, and now I've learned that I won't be receiving financial aid for this next quarter of school. I'm sorry to everyone who's already sent cards out to me, I won't be able to reciprocate the gesture. :(

Thank you everyone! The cards were very nice, and it was always a nice pick me up to receive them and read them. They're lining the top of our entertainment center in the living room.

Also, everyone's is in the mail......better late than never. :shifty:

EDIT: Also, Chris/Michael's card will be delayed as it will also be a care package for the stranded Hawaiians. I haven't come across a few of the things I want to send them yet. (insert obvious sex jokes)
